Comment on Your Theme Song for 2011 Was…? by Peter Banks
I know I'm a bit late to this However, heard this song on 31/12/11 and loved the narrative approach to a familiar story…

Just finished your excellent book, which I found both moving and encouraging. Hope you'll make it over to the UK for the Greenbelt Festival sometime?
Best, PB

Comment on Some Weeks You Can't Do Church by Janell Rardon
Oh, Ian. Words cannot express what this tape means to me right now. I'm almost through with "Chasing Francis," and am lingering on each and every word. I'm in tears as I write due to the great conflict I feel with the voices of modern Christian culture and the echoes of my own heart and inner voice, which I do know is the true voice of the Holy Spirit living within. Exhausted by striving to do what is expected by the community of faith, I so needed this word today. I want to keep listening to him. Thank you thank you thank you for your words, Ian and for this wise counsel. I don't even know how to respond to "What am I looking for?"

Ian,
This is very interesting. I appreciate the food for thought you share on your blog here. I'll be chewing on this for a bit. Especially the idea that what God wants and what you want, really want, may be one and the same.

Just what I needed to hear today. So important to ask myself that question – what am I looking for? As Jean states, these were the first words of Jesus in the Gospel of John and "where it all begins."
Thanks for introducing us to Jean.

Beautiful Dawn by the Wailin' Jennys. Sorry, I'm a little late for the discussion.
My husband and I were in Nashville for the World Vision retreat this Jan. It was a struggle for me to attend because I was missing the funeral of a very dear friend. She would have sent me there to be beside my husband. Maybe she knew somehow that you would be one of the speakers who would touch our hearts so beautifully. It isn't often that a story is told that captures so much of what life is. You spoke and we laughed with you and cheered for your young son…..and you. Then we got a copy of your book which I finished yesterday….took my time. You are a brilliant writer!! The book is really good! My Dad used to say that we often don't know the value of something until much later. Your life's story is a little like that and so is mine. Thank you for telling it.
