Who does Branwyn meet from Black Dorn? #FridaySnippets #erotic #medieval #romance

Black Dorn Snippet - (Dune means student. Duna means instructor. Gon means king)
She raced through the maze, hoping the next path would lead her to the exit. Her heart pounded as her legs grew weary. She slowed her pace. Before her, a small opening appeared where a section of hedge was dead. She forced her way through, glad to be free of the terrifying place, but concerned as to where she now stood. The maze she just passed through now blocked her view of the castle and gardens. With no one around, Branwyn fought back tears as a cold shudder of fear raced through her. She refused to re-enter the maze and make her way back to the entrance. Which way to turn? Left or right? She collapsed onto the ground and heaved a troubled sigh. A horse's snort startled her. She rose and hurried toward the sound. Two magnificent beasts—human and animal—stood beside a small creek. The black horse, dusty from the trail, drank as the man wiped his chin and returned a wineskin to his horse’s saddle. The man stood in profile to Branwyn but seemed a fine specimen. His face had a pleasantly formed brow, nose and chin and curly, black hair skimmed his shoulders. His arms and chest looked strong enough to easily manage the large sword hanging at his side. The horse turned an ear toward her, lifted his head and whinnied. Startled, the man returned from his reverie and looked at her. Branwyn scurried over. "Oh please, sire. My name is Branwyn. I come from Black Dorn. I am newly arrived and have gotten lost. Can you please direct me?" His brow wrinkled. "If you live at Black Dorn, who is your serving girl? Your duna?" "Leah serves me. Duna Trea is to…to…instruct me." "Explain why you’re so far from Dorn." "I wandered about the flower garden and entered the maze. Once there, I got lost." Her eyes filled with tears and she lowered her head. "Did you enjoy the maze?" His voice made her want to giggle. Branwyn shook her head. "No? But it is a place of games and pleasure. Did you not go there to seek pleasure?" "No, I found no pleasures there. Only games I do not understand." She wiped away a tear. "Please sire, I am tired and hungry and feel I may soon collapse. Which way must I travel to return to Black Dorn?" His horse nudged him in the back with his nose. The man placed both strong hands around her waist and lifted her to his saddle. He mounted the horse, tugged on the rein and directed his horse back to Black Dorn. When they entered the courtyard, Leah ran across the cobblestones, skidded to a stop and dropped to her knees. The horse halted a few feet in front of her. Branwyn slipped down from the stallion, curtsied to her escort and walked to her serving girl. "Leah." His voice boomed across the courtyard. Still kneeling, Leah quivered. "Do not let your dune wander about freely. She needs guidance." As he turned, a stable boy reached for the reins. He tossed them over, dismounted and strode toward the castle. When the sounds of his footsteps faded, Leah stood. "I do not need guidance," Branwyn snapped. "I got lost. What a rude, arrogant man. He did not have the upbringing to know to introduce himself." "Dune Branwyn," whispered Leah as she led her into the castle, "That is Gon Lacke’s eldest son. He will inherit the castle, lands and people. There will be a feast tomorrow to honor his safe return. But now, I must get you to your room. You must be exhausted from your day. A bowl of mulled wine will soothe you." Tiredness did not creep up on Branwyn, it ambushed her.

5 stars BLACK DORNThis book was really hot. Read the whole thing in 2 hours. Once you pick it up you will not put it down. The characters in the story are great and the theme of the book is BDSM but totally enjoyable. Malack and Branwyn are characters that you can relate to. The fact that he choose her over women with a title was also intriguing. It was good that Branwyn choose to have Leah as her lady in waiting. To find out that Malack and Branwyn allowed Duncan his man servant and Leah to wed was good now they are all happy. You need to read the book to find out the middle and the end. It was truly surprising what happens and how it happens.
5 stars Dark but SurprisingThis story turned out to be a real surprise for me. I was expecting a much darker tale from the description. The beginning did seem to live up to something very dark but then it seemed that all of a sudden light came and brought the whole story into a new light. It was a wonderful story of love, redemption, and sometimes having to do something terrible to create lasting peace. I love that all the female characters could be submissive and yet strong and that the male characters despite their strength could show their strong feelings.
I recommend this to anyone that love a great love story but sometimes like to have a bit of bit to it.
5 stars Awesome steamy story - new favorite authorBranwyn is a complex character, who begins the book timid and modest. However, in Black Dorn, timid and modesty are two sinful attitudes. Quickly, she is thrown into a world of passion and sex. But she only has eyes for one man, Malack the Gon-Dra. He is fierce and does not hide his body or his lust. However, Branwyn catches his eye and soon his heart.
This was a quick read and I found myself up late at night to finish it. The kind of drama and love story that leaves you breathless and then sighing in contentment at the end.
I will definitely read more books by Daryl Devore.
From Coffee Beans & Love Scenes / 4 StarsThe way the reader is taken on a journey with the main lead. You only see what the writer wants you to see and I thought that was really great. She defies all odds and falls in love with the man of the house. Their romance is beautiful and well written and as you read you wish them the best. Daryl Devore has written another great read.

Book Scammers. Amazon. The truth. #authormustread
My thanks to Daryl Devoré for allowing me valuable space to share my insight. My blog post is written to educate and enlighten on the dirty little secret that's not so little or secret anymore.

Did anyone read the Amazon Scammers post by David Gaughran? He makes great points and backs them up with proof of how the scammers are ruining things for legitimate authors.
The few FB Scam groups I covertly belong to are going wild about it. It’s like a mob mentality! Here’s a few comments:
"Lol I stopped reading at the point where he started whining about not being able to market his books during free promo well enough and he was being pushed down by the competition. Regardless of the quality of the competing books (scam or no scam, pretty much irrelevant), its still supply and demand. They are outranking because they can market better.”
“in whole article he is whining because someone is doing better job then he do ...
it is something like.. ho my.. i lose ranking because someone is doing same stuff as i do ... and doing it better”
This is another reason why the promotion of Free days isn’t working like it used to. There are groups dedicated to Click each other’s free download, then turn around and give 5-Star fake reviews. They’re very organized and share book titles via email with HUNDREDS of other scammers. According to them, if their titles are reported to Amazon for being a scam, the response time is so slow that they don’t care because they’ve already made thousands of dollars.
Scammers have also used Click-Bait in the past to get the unknowing reader to skip directly to the end in order to receive a “free book”. This provides the ebook publishers with instant payment if they’re enrolled in KU/KENP. “Don't assume that you still cant make money with ku. You dont have to be messing with hyperlink bs to make bank. Keep your books 3000+ pages (take out your unnecessary hyperlinks) and from people simply using the scroll bar to the end or skimming through the content, you will make a bunch of money.
Also you could put a riddle, puzzle, etc at the beginning and tell the reader to go to the last page of the book to find out the answer.”
While Amazon caught on to this tactic, Scammers are now toying with placing the Click-bait within the TOC where it’s more hidden from Amazon’s virtual eye.
Additionally, Scammers talk of stuffing Title Descriptions when uploading to Amazon, using all 400 allotted characters (See KBoards). They even share articles like thisand this.
These are not lazy people. They’re enterprising, smart, and constantly educate themselves on how the nitty-gritty aspects of Amazon works.
Many use ghostwriters from Fiverr to create content, and then sell the content when they’re tired of their fake book à “I will be selling around 25 books since Amazon and I are parting ways. These books are all non-fiction. I will piece them out but really just looking for someone to buy them all at once. PM if interested.”
More here as this guy sells not only his fake books, but the How-To as well: “The four products that I now have available for sale are
1. Dave's Non-Fiction Book Collection
2. Dave's Romance Fiction Book Collection
3. Dave's Publishing Webinars
4. Dave's Publishing Coaching Training Videos
My Non-Fiction Book and Romance Fiction Book Collections are literally all of my books that I no longer have published on Amazon. I am selling them and giving you the rights to do whatever it is you choose to do with them.
https://gumroad.com/l/davesnonfiction
https://gumroad.com/l/davesfiction
You can use them to see what niches I was in, to build your e-mail lists as free give aways, you can study them, model them, copy them or do whatever you want with them. There are a lot of different things you can do with the content.”
The last guy I mentioned is particularly smart. He brags of the thousands of dollars a year he’s scammed off Amazon, and thusly our readers. All in all, the plight of our books seem to have slipped to Amazon’s backburners – and this has me worried. I understand Amazon probay makes a lot more money selling other types of products than they do with ebooks, and their security/fraud department maintain the most vigilance where the most money is spent.
I get it. Doesn’t make me feel better.
Consumers who purchase these scam books are slowly rising up and complaining to Amazon. They’re going elsewhere to find books. And on the heel of their abandonment comes a new wave of scamming in the form of publishers.
“I am really glad how things worked out. Most of you have known that I have parted ways with Amazon KDP. It has really opened up my eyes on what I should have been doing instead of just publishing books on the platform.
My wife and I are going to be launching a Publishing services business centered around using our experience to help new or seasoned Publishers be successful in their business. Some of the services we will be offering are Ghost writing full books, writing optimized discriptions, profitable niche and keyword selection and much more!
I am also working on a publishing format where you can publish books on your own for free downloads and still generate a profit!
This is a sample of what I am working on: http://bestdamndirtyjokesever.blogspot.com/…/best-damn-dirt…
I Think this Idea is going to be revolutionary In both list building as well as getting away from the Kindle platform.
give it a check out and if you are feeling froggy, fill out the survey and get me some love!”
It’s a different publishing world from where we were ten or fifteen years ago. One can only wonder…
What will tomorrow bring?

EXCERPTHis dark eyes caressed the curves of her buttocks like a warm hand. Erika Larson-Bergstrom shivered as she glanced at him out the corner of her eye. She licked her lips as his gaze captured hers and he smiled, unnerving her while at the same time arousing her until she ached with need.A part of her wondered if her mischievous twenty-two-year-old twin daughters had set this up. After all, they were the ones who’d given her the $100 gift certificate for Erotically Bound, the upscale Minneapolis adult store she shopped in right now. But the man eyeing her was no twenty-two-year-old kid. He was all man and she wanted to explore every inch of him…intimately.Erika looked down at the lingerie she fingered, trying to clear her lust-filled mind. Her biggest problem was that she’d spent the last twelve years rearing her daughters as a single mom. She could count on one hand the number of men she’d dated during that time. The number she’d slept with was even less. She was just horny and needed to get laid, and he was the answer to a horny woman’s prayer.“Miss, could you assist me?” His voice was warm and deep with the hint of an Antonio Banderas-style Spanish accent. She looked up into the warmest brown eyes she’d ever seen. At least he’d called her “miss” and not “ma’am”.“Assist you?”“Yes, I must buy a gift for a lady and I have no idea what she might want.”“Oh.” Erika forced a smile to her tight lips. “Sure.”Well, that certainly burst her bubble. He had a woman he was shopping for. It figured. Of course it should have been a relief he wasn’t buying undies for himself since he was shopping in the women’s lingerie section, but she’d been dreaming he might possibly be as attracted to her as she was to him. No such luck.He wanted a buddy to help him shop for another woman. Shit. Buddy seemed to be the only way men viewed her—especially lately—and it was almost always because she was a plus-size woman. Women with big butts liked sex too. Damn men, anyway.“So what’s the gift for? Your anniversary? Her birthday?”“Anniversary? No.” He laughed. She liked his laugh…a lot. He threw himself into it. His head back and his hands running through his hair. Thick, black hair. Yum.Focus, Erika. Do not notice the full, wide lips and straight, white teeth. The high cheekbones. She swallowed, her gaze skimming over him. The broad shoulders, narrow hips and tight ass. Forget how hot he is. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t ignore his appeal.“I’m shopping for my administrative assistant.”“Your…?” Oh geez. Sleeping with an employee. Could it get worse? He waved his hand as he read her expression. “No, she is getting married and this place has a bridal registry.”“A bridal registry? You’ve got to be kidding.” Erika raised her brows.“I know. It sounds insane, and so I told her. But she assured me it was so.” He pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to her. “Here is a list of things the clerk printed for me that have not yet been purchased for her. My assistant is very organized and wants no duplicates.”Erika looked at the list he held and realized he was telling the truth. It consisted of lingerie, loungewear, dresses, shoes and, good grief, sex toys and movies.“It’s…um…comprehensive.”“Yes. I refuse to buy her some of these items. I am her friend, yes, but her employer first. Can you imagine if I showed up at the office bridal shower with,” he took the list back, glaring at it while shaking his head in disbelief, “a Rotating G-Spot Rabbit Vibrator?”
“It would certainly be the talk of the party,” Erika agreed dryly.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR - Francesca Hawley

Hi. I’m Francesca Hawley and I’m a fat chick. A woman with dangerous curves just like my heroines.
Many people don’t like the word, “fat” but I do because it’s the truth and I’ve learned to own it. I am a fat chick and I always will be. When I first began to read romance, the heroines were all thin. I kept wondering, where were the fat heroines? I wanted to read about a fat chick who loved herself—or at least learned to love herself—and a hot alpha hero who liked her jiggly bits just the way they were.
Since I didn’t find many big girls to read about, I decided to write about them, so Francesca Hawley – author of Romance with Dangerous Curves was born.
In a Francesca Hawley romance, my readers will find authentic, sensual, fat heroines who love and are loved by their intense, passionate, and seductive Alpha heroes. I hope you enjoy their dangerous curves just as much as their hunky heroes do.

Big Bright Spotlight on Andrea Cooper's Claimed - book 1 #romance
Claimed – Book 1

Claimed Blurb:Intern Renee Maxwell has a chance at her dream job as assistant to a renowned archeologist in exotic Turkey. Things get a little weird when she finds a unique crystal and starts hallucinating crazy yet sexy things. Her once staid boss now looks like a gorgeous demi-god and underwear model combined. Her feminist ideals are challenged with each seductive look and bit of banter he gives her, but she’s not falling for his charm.Damon Cubins never met a woman his Incubus powers couldn’t seduce…until now. If he doesn’t find an ancient crystal, he’ll turn into a full-fledged demon. When his new Intern Renee arrives on site, wearing the exact necklace he needs to save his existence, he thinks he’s got it made until he discovers a curse is keeping him from claiming what’s his.He doesn’t want to harm the woman who has enraptured his heart, but Damon isn’t the only dark creature seeking the crystal’s powers. Winning Renee’s love to release the curse becomes the only cure to save her life.Excerpt “Guess I’ll take a shower unless you need to go first?” Damon’s golden hair stood in disarray and gave him a sexy, bad boy look. Her throat dried, and she waved a hand toward the shower not trusting her voice. Rather than dragging the sheet with him, he rose. Every inch of him was muscled and tanned. Did he sunbathe in the nude?Renee’s fingertips flew to her lips. Heat from his kiss still lingered there. Vaguely, as if a fading dream, she remembered thinking about Damon and her body tingling from his hands on her. Burning her, and she wanted more. What was the matter with her? Twice now she almost screwed her boss.Still, he had a firm ass, and she shivered. Stop it! Stop it!Her body desired him, but her mind yearned for freedom and independence. Obviously, part of her mind craved him too if her dreams were any indication. Wasn’t enough. She required more: a relationship, love, mutual respect, but would he be willing not to control her? And what about her career? Would he support her work? While he showered, she searched the hotel for her clothes. Nothing. Probably still in the bathroom from last night. Dressing in two-day old sweaty clothes—not happening. But she shouldn’t stay here with Damon wrapped in a bed sheet either as enticing as he was. She’d probably lose control again and start groping him. God, how could I have done that? Her cheeks heated. Especially since she knew if he touched her, kissed her, she’d give in. She’d open her body for him and pray she wasn’t swept away in too big a hurricane. Her hands, her dream started this, but they worked together. Now he took her out to eat at weird locals, balloon rides, and trapped in a tunnel. She chuckled and shook her head. Well, the trapping part wasn’t his idea. Was she being an idiot now? A gorgeous man desired her and had the manners to back off when she mistakenly kissed him in her sleep. Was she wrong about him this whole time? Judging him because he picked up a girl he just met at the airport and then had her sleeping in his tent? She imagined water rolling down his body. Her knees were weak thinking about it. Was he lonely after Melanie screwed around on him and dumped him? Was Renee his rebound? Or they could have fun for a bit and go their separate ways in a few weeks after summer. Like a summer fling. Would he let her come back and work for him next summer? Would she be able to watch him with his next model girlfriend?Probably not.

What happened that ignited the writing flame in her fingers? Divorced, and disillusioned by love songs and stories. They exaggerate. She thought. Love and Romance are not like that in the real world. Then she met her husband and realized, yes love and romance are exactly like the songs and stories say. She is now a happy wife, and a mom to three kids (two boys and a girl).
Andrea writes paranormal and historical romance. When not writing or reading, one may find Andrea dancing in Zumba.
She believes in the power of change and counting each moment as a blessing. But most importantly, she believes in love.

What people are saying about FLESH5 Star ***** I had never read any of Daryl Devore's books and man, am I glad I read this one! Peyton is the guy we all want and Fuchsia is a girl who is not giving up on her dreams. When the two collide, everything is turned upside down and the result is hot, but also laugh out loud funny. I will definitely have to read more of Devore's books!
5 Star ***** This is the first book I have had the privilege of reading by Daryl Devote (Devore). I'm hooked!! Peyton and Fuchsia's story was full of heat and love. Their playful banter had me laughing out loud. I would definitely recommend this book to my family and friends.

What does Branwyn discover about her new life in Black Dorn? Friday Snippets #FridaySnippet #erotic #medieval #romance

Black Dorn Snippet - (Dune means student. Duna means instructor)
"Sit down, Dune Branwyn." Duna Trea pointed to a smaller chair as she settled onto a velvet-cushioned one. She ran her hand down the sides of her dress smoothing out the wrinkles. In her youth, the blackness of her dress would have matched the color of her, now speckled with grey, hair. "We must converse. It is time to explain to you why you are here." "I know I have been given to a man. I understand my duty to my uncle and aunt. They raised me and I have been a burden to them. It is time I—" Duna Trea raised her hand. "That is not why. It is because of your wondrous beauty. Are not your cousins of a plainer state? It is most simple. You were gotten rid of. With your smooth, fair skin, bright green eyes, long, thick hair and full, healthy breasts, your uncle saw no chance for a good match for his daughters. " Branwyn started to speak but stopped. She bit her bottom lip to cease its trembling. Duna Trea continued, "A very rich man purchased you and he demands that you be trained to satisfy his specific tastes." "I served my aunt. I was a dutiful niece and learned to cook, sew, play the spinet, read and embroider. People have told me I have an enchanting voice and I know many songs. I am an accomplished young lady." "Those are not the skills your master wishes." "I…I understand there are needs of the bed, but those my husband will teach me." Blood rushed to Branwyn's cheeks at the vaguest mention of husband-wife relations. The duna shook her head. "Listen, Dune Branwyn. You must learn total obedience. You are now a dune. To become a duna you must lose all inhibitions." "When will I become a duna?" "When you’re taken." "Taken where?" Duna Trea sighed. "Not taken where, child, taken how. When a man takes you. When that which makes you a dune is lost, you become a duna." Trea continued, "Did no one teach you anything about relations between a man and a woman?" Branwyn shook her head. "It is not right to speak of these things. One must be pure on one’s…" Trea brushed a stray hair from her face. "When a young girl becomes ripe she must learn to serve. You have much to understand. You cannot properly serve your master without knowing the ways of your body or his. Your instruction begins tomorrow." "I am to be married tomorrow?" "No, your master does not want you until you have been trained. You are useless to him until—no." She put her hand up. "Wander about the castle. Do not speak to anyone unless they speak to you first. Go." Branwyn stood, curtsied and left. Her steps sounded hollow as she descended the staircase. Leah waited at the bottom. "Come, Dune Branwyn. Some refreshing tea and a relaxing sit by the flower gardens. You have heard much, and are confused. You need time to think."

Droplets of blood seeped from Darien's wolf tattoo, mesmerizing him. They trickled over the inside of his bicep, splattering against the bar floor.Dairen frowned. Why was the wolf bleeding? It was supposed to look sexy. Turn chicks on. Not bleed. He blinked as a thought formed. Maybe it wasn't the tattoo. Could he be bleeding? He didn't remember getting hurt. But that might be because he'd had too many vodka shots.Expensive gold infused vodka. An order, snapped out in Thai, ripped his focus away from the cost of the booze.Stumbling with the translation, his gut clenched. "Check everyone. Anybody alive. Kill them."A shrill female scream. A gun shot. Silence. That'd be one of the hookers. Damn. Hope it wasn't the one with the butterfly tattoo above her clit. She had a mouth on her than performed miracles. Dude! What the fuck! Must be the vodka talking. Stay focused. There are guys with guns out there. Darien stretched his neck and peered around the edge of the bar. In his line of vision, a male leg stuck out from under a table. Expensive looking shoe. Presumably Italian leather. Probably belonged to Nai Jâhng. Darien raised his eyebrows. Wow. Somebody had the balls to kill a Triad boss.He shifted his glance. A few feet to the left, lay a female arm with brilliant orange fingernails. He shivered at the remembrance of those nails grazing his balls. He focused on a tiny object a foot in front of him. Glass. Shards of it were scattered about. He frowned, trying to remember what happened. He'd walked behind the private club's bar to get another bottle of vodka when, one by one, bottles started exploding. Next he was on the floor looking at the blood dripping from his tattoo. He glanced at his wound. The bleeding had stopped.Okay, so he wasn't gonna bleed to death. Good. Now he just had to get his ass outta here. Past them. The guys with the guns. How the fuck could he do that?Voices interrupted his thoughts. The tones were panicked or angry and the speed too fast for him to translate, although he did understand the meaning of the three rapid gunshots followed by a short groan. The door at the opposite end of the bar, leading to the kitchen swooshed as someone pushed it open.Gunfire and loud screams sounded from the kitchen. The door swung open again. Darien translated the shooters words, "Nobody alive in there. I'll check the offices upstairs."Darien slid back, trying not to disturb the glass. He did his best not to yelp when a sharp edge sliced through the skin on his knee. With deliberate movements, he backtracked the length of the Black Dragon's bar. Squatting, he peeked around the end, three men stood with their backs to him. Dressed in black pants and muscle shirts, each one held an assault rifle. A bleeding sun tattoo visible on one attacker's shoulder. Daeng Arthit Triad. Not good. So not good. He looked forward. The kitchen door was six feet away. Six feet of wide-open, easily visible space. It might as well be six inches or a mile. He couldn't risk it. Wouldn't. He didn't want to get shot.He shifted his weight off the knee pressing on a piece of shattered bottle. What the fuck, dude? You're gonna die if they find you. Better to be running for your life than just lay here and let 'em kill you. That was the logical side of his head's opinion. The chicken shit side said, Stay here. Stay down. You're safe.
