It's a Rush

It is, it's an amazing feeling when someone buys your book for the first time. It's kind of like selling your soul, but without the one-way trip to Hell. You authors out there know what I mean. You put something on paper that comes from your heart and brain, and someone wants to read it. It takes years, sometimes, to organize and write a book. You labor and agonize over it. Doubts, writers block, procrastination, you name it, we go through it. Then it's done and it's out there for public cons...

Free

I am in need of some reviews, so I'm giving my E-Book away on Smashwords. See the sidebar for details.

I'm still waiting for Amazon to list my book. I guess it takes time for them to build my detail page. I'll keep you posted. Check out my other pages often. I am constantly changing them.

Okay, business is done. I got a new computer. I do that about every four years. Trouble is, they run out of ram before they break down, so they all still work. I have an old HP that has 60gig memory. That's it...

Get excited with me.

Have you ever gotten so excited about a new book, that you wanted to start a webpage and design the cover?

I first called it Dancing in the Stars,Then Song of the Body. But there's only one possible name for it, "That Girl." Check out the blurb and tell me what you think. I've even put a tab for easy access. While you're at it, you could check out my Bum's Rush page. I'm dumping the webpage. I like the blog page better. It's easier and more fun.

In love with your characters

If you love your character, is that good? I can see two totally different sides to that questions. For me, if I'm in love with my characters, I can try and transfer that love to my readers. However, being in love with my characters, is different from loving my characters. Being in love with them, is like having a first love. All you can think about and talk about is the one you love and people around you get sick of hearing it. So that might cause me to overwrite them. I might want the reader...

Just Sayin'

It seems with all the publishing and writing, and weather woes, I've had little time left to update my blog. I now have a webpage, at least for the moment. You can check it out HERE It's not fancy, and it's not completed, but it's there for anyone's enjoyment. Drop by and sign my guest book, you are the first peeps I've invited.

I'm getting ready to have a give away. I have three proofs from Amazon.com to give away. Two of them have minute errors, and the last one should be close to perfect. ...

The Ghost and the Goth

Another recommendation, The Ghost and the Goth, written by Stacey Kade. I'm a slow reader and I had this book read in three days. It's delightful, very humerous, suspenseful, and a bit of a love story. Click here for a review of it on the authors website. And don't you just love the cover?

Some changes made

I've been reading, reading, reading lately. Isn't that the first rule of writing. Makes sense. Since I'm trying to write in a different genre, I'm consuming YA books and I'm enjoying it so much. I love my kindle, but you know, I enjoy reading off my netbook just as much. Of course there is nothing like holding the book in your hand, but what do you do with it when you're done? I keep them. I know, I should recycled and share, but I just don't. So, I like that I can just archive my books. If I...

Rushing Spring

If you put up springy backgrounds, spring will come faster. I'm about ready to get a countdown widget, anything. Not that I heart spring so much, actually it comes with hazards, you know, tornadoes ans thunderstorms, and it's just a violent time of year, but then summer comes pretty fast after that. I'm really looking forward to my next birthday and that's in September. I think I'm going to throw a blog bash. I have a secret, it's a wonderful secret and you can't know what it is, yet.

I just finished Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson. It's insanely good. It's a YA book about a teenage boy, tyler, who is in trouble. Just like most teens, he's trying to fit in. It starts off with him on probation for spray painting graffiti on the school. He figured he'd be considered a hero for this. So now he's doing community service by taring the school roof and digging holes for a landscaping business in between visits to his parole officer.

He's got the hots for a girl out of his league...
