Day In The Life™ 2022 | Collection Preview + Save The Date
Ready to schedule a Day In The Life™ documenting day for 2022?
Our first documenting day is now scheduled for Thursday, March 10th, 2022 (free word art available to download at the bottom of this post).
Below you can check out a preview of the 2022 Day In The Life™ Collection which will be available for purchase this Friday, January 28th at 9am Pacific. It is in the warehouse and ready to ship.
This year I've planned two documenting themes as lenses for Day In The Life™. The first will be using -ing words as jump starts for our stories and the second lens (for a documenting day later this year) will be gratitude. The items in the kit coordinate with those two themes to make the whole process more streamlined as you tell the story of your day.
Here's an overview video of the new kits:
And here's a look at each piece in the collection:
This year's Day In The Life™ Kit includes a fun collection of 4x6 and 3x4 cards, 6x8 and 4x6 chipboard sheets, wood veneer banners, a 3x4 stamp, clear word/phrase stickers, and a fun set of die cut banners (some with sentiments + some blank).
This year we are offering a 4x6 album as a home for your Day In The Life™ stories.
Included with this album bundle are page protectors, four coated cardstock pages, and two envelopes. Includes 24 page protectors (12 that have a 4x6 pocket and 12 that have 2, 3x4 pockets).
Two of those pages include die cut centers of flowers.

December Daily® 2021 | Special Guest Ashley Horton
Hi everyone! It’s Ashley and I’m excited to be on the Blog today, with a look at my completed 2021 December Daily album! I loved being a part of the December Daily Creative team and having the opportunity to work with all of the amazing products and the talented ladies, who also served on the Creative Team.
As crafters, most of us know that our albums are always a work in progress and there is no such thing as being caught up. But, for me, December Daily is always one of those albums I complete every year. It is so satisfying to have a finished album that documents all of our December moments. My goal each year, is to have my album completed no later than mid-January…and for 2021 I was able to finish a bit earlier than that.
The biggest game changer for me, has been creating foundation pages. They are definitely not for everyone, but they really work for me. I can get a jump start on my album by creating my foundation pages in late October and throughout the month of November. A lot of the stories in my album are the same ones I share from year to year, so I kind of usually have an idea of what I want the pages to look like without actually having the photos for them. For the “spontaneous” stories, I try to create generic pages that will work for any type of photos or story.
One example of that, is my Day 17 foundation page. I didn’t have a specific photo or story in mind for this page when I created it. But, one of the stories I had not planned for, was when our family went to the Christmas parade. I was able to work my photos and story into this foundation page, by using the die cut star flip out to hold my photos and journaling.
Another way I try to organize and stay on track with my album, is by making a list of stories that I want to include. There are always the favorite holiday movies, decorations, and Christmas Eve/Day stories. But, I always have an idea of any events or activities that we will be doing in December, so I go ahead and make a list that includes everything to let me know when I have a total of 25 stories. I use the Evernote app every year to make my list, and since it’s on my phone which I always have with me, I can update it easily any time I need to.
I would love for you to check out my completed December Daily! I have a flip thru video, that you can find on my YouTube channel.
I also have all of my pages on my Instagram account, ashleyhorton75, and you can find all of my December Daily pages under the hashtag #ashleyhortondecdaily21.
Before I go, I’ve got some of my favorite layouts to share with you.
One of my life-saver layouts was the canvas pockets that I put together to document a trip that we took on December 9-13. I really love how this page came together and it was such a time-saver for getting the trip documented, once we got home.
And I loved using these fun pockets to document the different ways we were able to help others during the holiday season.
I shared a process video for Day 21, showing how I created the foundation page to document my favorite Christmas songs.
No matter what stories end up in my album every year, I always end it with Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Thanks so much for checking out my album today! I hope no matter where you are in your December Daily, that you’ve been inspired by some of the things I’ve shared from my album!

December Daily® 2021 | Special Guest Shu-Wen Tham
Hey everyone!
This is Shu-Wen Tham, aka Choux Puff Creations, and today, I’m super excited to be sharing the flipthroughs of all three of my 10x8 December Daily 2021 albums! It was definitely harder to stay “caught up” on my December Daily throughout the month of December this year as things have been opening up here in Canada, and we’ve had the good fortune of being able to get together with friends and family again. But I’m so glad that I met my goal of having all my pages completed before the end of January!
Here’s a sped-up flipthrough of my 3 albums! For a slower flipthrough of each album, feel free to visit me on my YouTube channel:
As you can see, I LOVE including interactive elements in my December Daily albums! In fact, I have some sort of interactive element for each of my 31 stories this year! Here are 4 tips and tricks that I used to help me finish my albums on time, despite having some more complex interactive pages!
As much as I hate to admit it, the few foundation pages that I prepped before December started REALLY helped me tell my stories on the days I was feeling burnt out or less creative. Here are some of the things I did in advance:
- [Top Left] Prepping the ornament cut files by cutting them out with my electronic cutting machine and backing them with patterned paper really helped save time for this page documenting my new ornaments. I shared how I prepped these cut files in my Stretch Your Stamps December Daily – Digital Part 2 video
- [Top Right] Doing the gold-embossed ombre stamping for my December in Numbers title page meant that I didn’t have to pull out all my heat-embossing supplies to finish the final page of my December Daily album. I shared how I did the stamping for this page in my Stretch Your Stamps December Daily – Physical Part 2 video
- [Bottom] Arranging the 6 window cards on my page with some pre-cut and distressed patterned papers meant I didn’t have to fuss over the placement of the window cards when I documented our advent calendars this year.
I loved the fact that I could include full-page photos in my 10x8 album this year! Bonus: Using large photos means I get to keep the rest of the page relatively simple in terms of embellishments, which saves lots of time! Here are some of the ways I used large photos in my interactive pages:
- [Top Left] As a large pocket for photo mats and journaling cards. In this spread documenting a visit to a friend’s house, I made my large photo into an oversized pocket to house my journaling and some extra photos. Process video.
- [Top Right] As the base to add your journaling and additional photos. In this spread documenting our New Years Eve celebrations, I added some journaling in white font to the bottom of my large photo before printing it out, and adhered two pockets directly on top of the photo to house some extra photos. Process video coming soon to my YouTube channel!
- [Bottom] As a “patterned paper” background. In this spread documenting our Christmas decorations around the house, I used a blurred out photo of my Christmas tree as a background for my focal point: the house-shaped die cut page with 4 photos of our Christmas decorations.
There are so many talented crafters who participate in December Daily, and between the December Daily Facebook Group and Instagram, there’s no shortage of inspiration to be found! Don’t want to scraplift someone else? Have a look through your past favorite projects and see if you can scraplift yourself! Here are some of the pages that I created through scraplifting:
- [Top Left] Krystal Idunate’s interactive fireplace page that she created for her Back to Basics: Product Play lesson was so adorable, I had to create one for myself! The templates that she provided saved me so much time, and I made it my own by adding some fairy lights around the mantle, on the trees, and in the fireplace itself.
- [Top Right] I was feeling uninspired the day I created this spread, so I scraplifted one of my favorite spreads that I had created this autumn in my Life Crafted Album: https://youtu.be/pBkY6OVXvws. I kept everything the same, from the placement and sizes of the triangles, to the interactive pull-out coming out from the bottom of the page.
- [Bottom] A lot of crafters have been cutting their photos down the middle and using the outer half as a flip-out to store more photos, including Pam Baldwin (as demonstrated in her Prep Party lesson) and Sabrina Poole, and I was happy to scraplift this idea for this page documenting an event where I had taken many, many photos.
Above all, I get the most joy out of creating unique interactive elements that I can play with again and again when I flip through my albums. Although these interactive elements take more time to make, they really get my creative juices flowing so that I don’t feel burnt out making the same looking layouts over and over again. Here are some of my favorite interactive elements from my December Daily albums this year:
- [Top Left] Because COVID-19 news is such a difficult subject to document, I knew that I wanted to create fun and whimsical interactive elements that I could use to hide all the sadness when I don’t want to look at it. For this spread, I created 5 paper masks out of patterned paper and hid some COVID-related news articles on the backside of each mask. Process video.
- [Top Right] To document some happy mail that I had gotten for myself during the month of December, I created some origami envelope boxes so that I could unwrap each parcel and experience the same joy that I did when I unwrapped the real gifts as they came in the mail. Process video.
- [Bottom] The process of spending time measuring, mixing, and baking various recipes, then opening the oven to find perfectly baked goodies, brings me so much joy. In this spread, I re-created my kitchen in paper form, down to an interactive cupboard to hold photos of some of the baked goods I made, a drawer to hold some journaling, and an oven door that opens to reveal even more photos of baked goods. Process video coming soon to my YouTube channel!
I hope you enjoyed the flipthrough of my albums, as well as my tips and tricks for getting things done and staying motivated throughout the process! You can find still photos of most of my pages on my Instagram and process videos for some of my pages on my YouTube Channel.
Thanks so much for visiting!
Shu-Wen

December Daily® 2021 | Special Guest Elizabeth Heinz
Hello friends. Happy New Year. I’m delighted to share a few tips that helped me finish my December Daily.
1// Start with your Reason Why.
If I get stuck or frustrated, I look back at my INTENTION. It motivates me to SHOW up and finish.
2// Seek INSPIRATION from the community.
I LOVED the way Ali used the 10x8 wreath vellum to document her wrapping paper.
I LOVED the tag in Jess Forester’s 2020 December Daily album.
3// Plan and include stories that are important year after year.
I LIKE to add our family Christmas card.
Day 16 is ALWAYS reserved for my dad’s birthday tradition.
4// Participate in community projects or challenges and/or take a class.
This page was part of a Creative Team Instagram Hop to use the speech bubbles. These challenges may motivate you to use product in different and unique ways.
5// Look for inspiration EVERYWHERE.
The lettering on this page came from holiday marketing from the LOFT. If I see something I like, I tuck it away to use during the month.
6// Find a way to include bits and pieces from EVERYDAY life.
I ENJOY adding tags, receipts, business cards, stamps, etc.
Thanks SO much for joining me. Good luck with your projects. Please let me know if you have any questions.
You can find me AND a complete walkthrough of my 2021 December Daily album here.
XO, Elizabeth

2022 Documenting Plans + 2 Stories Added To My 2022 Album
Welcome to my first Craft The Story video for 2022.
I plan to continue sharing videos on YouTube "most" Fridays throughout the upcoming year and in today's video I'm sharing my documenting plans for 2022 along with adding two stories to my 6x8 album for 2022. (I put the wrong date - I was a day ahead - on my YouTube video so I'm just going ahead + making this post live today too).
Let's dive right in to today's video:
DOCUMENTING IN 2022
For 2022 I'm going to be working in a 6x8 album and adding stories as I go throughout the year (I may end up needing more than one - we will see as the year progresses). I'll be using things from the
Story Kits (super excited about the new page sizes included with those kits), the quarterly Scrapbook Kits, sometimes pieces from Stories By The Month, and other pieces from my stash.
In addition to the 6x8 story album I will also be participating in the following projects:
Day In The Life™: Collection should be releasing at the end of this month or beginning of next month. First documenting day (of 2) will most likely happen in February or March.
Pieces Of Life: We will be releasing a couple new themes this year for this notebook based project. The first theme for this year is Pieces Of The Past and will likely be released in late February. The second theme that will come later in the year is Pieces Of Play.
Week In The Life™: Hoping to have this collection release in May with a June documenting week. The dates of this will be highly dependent on when we receive the products in the warehouse.
One Little Word®: You can read more about this project + year long workshop here. It's definitely not too late to join!
December Daily®: Collection scheduled to launch early September with a Decemeber documenting timeframe.
Just Write: This is a $5 per month subscription that includes 2 writing prompts per month. I've been doing this for a couple of years now and I love that with these specific prompts I am literally starting with story and not having to think about anything else except the words.
In addition to the above projects/collections we are also planning the following releases in 2022:
Quarterly Scrapbook Kit: Rainbows, Black + White, Tags, and Numbers (first kit is coming in February). Please note that if you subscribed to the Quarterly Kit in 2021 you will need to re-subscribe for 2022 when the first kit is available.
Laura Wonsik New Stamp Collaboration (April release): check out Laura's 2021 releases here
Travel Collection (summer release)
Nostalgia Collection (most likely late summer)
TBA (fall release)
Please remember that we wholeheartedly encourage you to participate in the projects that feel good to you at this point in time. It's totally okay to take a break from some projects and/or come back to ones you might have participated in in the past. We offer a variety of memory keeping projects in order to give you options in your own documenting adventures and believe in your ability to decide which projects make the most sense for you at any given point in time.
If you are brand new to me or this brand, welcome! The best way to begin is to pick a project and dive in!
And here are some images of the projects in today's video:
I plan to add more 2x2 photos to this spread as Anna has more volleyball tournaments this year. That 2x2 page protector is paired with a laser transparency that I designed in Illustrator and printed before running through the Minc machine with
white foil. I think my foil might be old as it definitely came out looking distressed but I decided to just go with it. I used the digital version of this pattern paper to line up the circles of text.
In the very middle of the circles I added some
2022 word art from this digital set.
On top of the pattern paper from the
Begin Story Kit™ I adhered the photo of Anna using foam adhesive squares and used this new typewriter alpha stamp set and Honeyman ink around the yellow circle. I also added a small chipboard heart from my stash.
The second story I told is about my Mom + Dad visiting earlier this week to pick up her December Daily® album that they had dropped off for me to look through. I created a flip-out page using washi tape + a pattern paper from the
Hexagon Scrapbook Kit + a speech bubble embellishment from one of the One Little Word® Mini Kits from last year. The washi tape I used to create the flip-out is hidden (you can see more about that in today's video).
I shared a walk-through of my Mom's December Daily® album over on YouTube earlier this week.
You can check that out here.
When you open up that pattern paper + speech bubble combo you'll find the story that I shared on my IG account along with a photo of me, my Mom, and Anna. On top of the photo of the three of us I added a wood veneer heart from the February 2022 Stories By The Month Kit on which I had used the "currently" stamp to create the text pattern. To finish it off I added a word phrase sticker that's also from the February 2022 SBTM kit.
Here's to having fun telling stories together in 2022!

December Daily® 2021 | Special Guest Jennie Rey
Hi everyone! Jennie here with my finished 2021 December Daily album! I just finished it a few days ago and I am still not sure how I feel about that! I had so much fun working on the album every day, making photos of my finished pages, cooking up a reel of my process and sharing on Instagram with all of you. I am definitely on team ‘finishing’ but all of your enthusiastic comments and messages kept me so motivated and that really helped on finishing so soon, so a big thank you to all of you!
I have to be honest and say that I pretty much didn’t do anything else than my regular job (and I wasn’t quite as motivated to do that this December!) and working on my December Daily album. Every free moment I was either planning my page in Photoshop, bringing it together in my album, making photos of my project, editing my video and/or sharing on Instagram. And I loved every bit of it but I know that isn’t for everyone! December is a very busy month and I was so lucky to be able to have some days off of work and have a very flexible and understanding family. They know how important this project is for me and cheer me on all the way even though we have had far less quality time together than any other month.
Even though I did finish my album in January I am not a fast scrapper. The pages need time to evolve in my head, to come together in Photoshop and the more products I have access to, the longer it takes. That’s why I like (need) to limit my choices, especially with a big project like this. This year I used Ali’s main kit and just a few of the shop items. The great advantage of using one collection is that it is designed to all fit together! I did also use a lot of the digital products from the same collection and because I like to plan my pages in Photoshop, it is essential for my process to be able to also have the digital versions of the physical products I have. In Photoshop I try things out, move pieces around, change sizes and colors and when I am happy with how it looks I print all of the pieces and put the page together. At that point I hardly have any decisions to make! And when I do struggle with making decisions I remind myself that no one will ever ask why I used that felt heart or number sticker but they will love looking at my photos and reading my stories!
The next few pages were created for the Product Play Back to Basics Class or the Prep Day (hour 9!). You can find process videos (for the pages) and a layered template (for the calendar) in the classrooms.
Product Play Back to Basics:
Prep Day:
We also did an Instagram hop with a few members of the Creative Team using (digital) speech bubbles. You can find the pages of the other team members and this speech bubble cut file here.
There are little process-reels of almost all of my pages on Instagram: @thereypie . There you can also find photos of my pages and a flip through. For a longer and more detailed flip through you can check out my YouTube channel. Here are a few of my favorites:
If you would like to see more of my process in Photoshop or get some inspiration using digital kits you can check out my Hybrid All Year Round class!
Thank you so much for taking a look at my album!

December Daily® 2021 | Special Guest Nolana Lynch
Hello Lovelies!
Nolana here! I'm so very excited to have completed my December Daily 2021 album. I am happy to be sharing with you a few of my favourite spreads and my approach with December Daily this year.
I love putting together a planner for the month of December where I jot down story ideas, layouts, our December calendar and so forth. This gives me a rough plan to work with before I begin my foundation pages.
I loved all the album options available this year and decided to use 2 6 x 8 albums for my documenting - the Falala and the Red Leather (I like using coordinating albums but not two of the same).
In 2020 I began doing Foundation pages and I loved it so much I will be doing those every year. It just gives me so much more time in December so I'm not rushing to both craft and get the story told.
When December rolled around, I'd typically work on the story the following day except for my birthday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and any days that are super busy. It is important to me to stay on top of things, so I enjoyed using my weekends (or any free time really) to catch up on my spreads and ensure my foundation pages for the following days are organised.
I enjoyed working on a few interactive pages and Day 15, my birthday is definitely one of my favourite spreads this year.
Insert Short Video of Day 15
All in all it was a truly great adventure and I look forward to all the December shenanigans of 2022.
So tell me, have you completed your December Daily album yet? What were your favourite parts of the journey?
If you're trudging along - hope you're having so much fun reliving all your December stories.
Find a full flip through of my album here.
I look forward to documenting 2022 with you and would love to connect with you! You may find me on Instagram here.
Ciao Lovelies! xoxo

December Daily® 2021 | Special Guest Sabrina Poole
Hi everyone this is Sabrina! I had the amazing opportunity to be on the December Daily Creative Team and I worked in the 6x8 green album. I stuffed that album and will definitely need 2 albums next year!
This album was my 11th year doing this project and I continue to enjoy the process of making this album, playing with the products, telling the stories and capturing this magical month. For me, I have learned that spending some time in November looking at your products, playing with them and making prep pages is a vital tool in completing the album. Having between 5 and 10 prep pages really comes in handy for the days where life is busy, I'm short on time or not feeling creative. I also make a list of stories that I like to capture and document during December which helps me to remember all the stories I enjoy scrapbooking in December.
For my album this year I enjoyed a lot of stamping with all the different stamp sets like the botanicals, stars and alphabet stamp sets. I even used the stamp sets to create a custom December themed bookshelf! I also a stamped border with the stamps to document a fun crafty get together and made a list of stamped words to describe movie nights. I found many uses for the stamps and loved all the stories I told using December Daily stamps.
Another tip I would like to share is just remember this is a marathon and not a sprint. At the end of the day delete out the photos you don't need and edit them so they are ready to be printed. Once you have your photos pick a few supplies to build your page and have fun! Try your best to not get overwhelmed with your supplies and maybe pick 1 new product to play with and try another on the next story. Most importantly, remember these are your and your family's stories and they are unique. Your stories are special and shouldn't be compared to anyone else's. Just by documenting your December stories you are making a beautiful and priceless album.
Here are some photos of my December Daily album and I also have a full walk thru video on my Youtube channel if you want to check that out. I appreciate everyone in the community cheering me on my Youtube channel and on my Instagram @mrsscrapandplan. I just treasure this project and look forward to it every year.
Thank you again for taking a look at my project and I hope my tips help you with your documenting your December. Can't wait till next year!
