Project Life® 2024 | Week 48

I'm so happy to share that I finally found some time to finish up my
2024 Project Life album! I'll be sharing Weeks 48 through 52 all this week here on the blog. 

I had printed out most of these photos at some time over the last year so my Saturday was spent embellishing and journaling.

For this memory keeping adventure I had a few things I was keeping in mind while working: 

December Daily® is generally my main documenting in December so I wasn't trying to capture every single detail of our month.  I started out using the December Stories By The Month™ kit from 2024 and then moved to using my December Daily® stash. In my Week 52 spread I did use a couple things from our 2025 December Daily® collection.  My main goal was simply to get this finished. I was less focused on longer stories and more focused on adding simple embellishments and then some words (some spreads will have less and others will have a few more). 

I was also curious to see if I felt like I missed working in this format (9x12 weekly pockets) while I was finishing up this album. I love the ease of the pockets and simply slipping cards (both sentiment and journaling cards) into the pockets. But overall I have really enjoyed my documenting approach for 2025 - I'm using a 10x8 album and sharing most of that in the Storyteller classroom. Helllo Everyone!

Happy Watching and Listening Week!!! I am so excited to be with you on the blog sharing my Project with what I'm currently Watching and Listening to.

So I'm obsessed with Craft Room Organisation videos and I must say, all of my free time is spent watching these! I pulled up some of our classes here - including the Stash Class and Plan Prep and Play and they've been so helpful! I haven't re-organised my crafty space since we moved here about a year ago, so I'm thrilled to be giving it a refresh! 

Here's the process video of how I put this layout together:- 

For this first page, I used a 2x2 page protector and cut the acetate down to Squares. I loved breaking them up to represent how choppy viewing things are for me now - my toddler is usually chatting away and so is my baby - so concentrating on shows are challenging- a lot of pausing occurs.

I decided I'd add some stars in to create a light and airy feel to the layout in keeping with the pink and pastel hues of the papers. I cut the journal cards using a 2.5 inch circle punch and layered with star vellum as well.

For the left hand side of the page, I used my craft knife to cut around the records to create tuck-in pockets. I added four of the hexagons here. I also stamped the Watching and learning stamp with white Glimmer ink and added a word strip sticker.

I also added in some Gold numbers to align the journaling with the photos on the right hand side and popped in the date.

All in all, I loved playing with this kit and it's dreamy hues. Happy Documenting!!!

HALLOWEEN STAMPS

For our Halloween release this year we have two stamp sets available. First up is a 4x6 set:

Story Play Watch + Listen | Special Guest Denine Zielinski

Hey friends! It’s Denine, and I am here today to share a spread that I created with the Story Play Collection: Watching + Listening. As of late, there has been a lot more listening than watching around these parts, so my spread is all about some of the music that I have been listening to these days. I really love pages like this that capture just a small part of the season that I am currently in.

I’ve been in a pocket page season since the summer when I was working on my Days of Summer album, but I also love a little bit of interactive fun, so I combined the best of both worlds here. I filled the pockets with photos of a few of my favorite artists that I snagged from the internet. I kept it pretty simple by just adding a circle that I punched from the 7x8.25 Watching Listening Paper in the middle of the four pockets. On top of that, I adhered one of the chipboard pieces and a chipboard star from my stash.

For the interactive part of my spread, I had fun working with the 7x8.25 For The Love Of Listening Paper. I used the digital version of the paper to add the names of the artists to the left of the records with the alphabet from last year’s December Daily collection. It’s still one of my all-time favorite alphas. I then ran the physical paper through my printer.

Using a plastic circle template, I cut around each record with my craft knife to create openings to slide additional photos and journaling under. I screenshot my current favorite songs from each artist and cut them out into 2.75 inch circles for that.

On the other side of each circle photo, I added some journaling about each song. In between the two circles, I stapled a tab die cut that would stick out from under the records. You can read my thoughts about the songs in the photo below.

Here’s a photo of how the circles look when they are pulled partially out from under the records. I just think they look so cute!

In between my two main pages, I added an insert to hold the 3x4 Currently Listening Journal Card with those adorable headphones. I just had to add this card into my spread somehow! The insert is a 3x8 transparency from my stash with a grid pattern on it. I like that the pattern is tame enough for the viewer to see through it to the page underneath.

I typed my main journaling onto the 3x4 Listening 01-02-03 Journal Card and adhered it back to back with the 3x4 Currently Listening Journal Card.

To finish off, I added one of the phrase stickers from the kit underneath the existing phrase on the bottom of the second page and also stamped the date underneath.

Story Play Watch + Listen | Special Guest Jill Drangsholt

Hi friends! Jill here. I have a pretty quick pocket page lesson for you today about what my son and I are watching and listening to right now. I haven't been taking as many photos lately (and my son doesn't want his photo taken most of the time), so this was a nice way to still get some real life documenting in my album. 

I loved how the TV and headphones cards looked paired side by side with the "watching" and "listening" journaling cards, so I put those along the center of my pocket page. I also added tabs along the tops of two of the cards just for fun.

I cut out the pink circles from one of the papers in the kit and attached a 2 inch printed photo of one of the things we have been watching or listening to inside of each circle. 

Then I found some coordinating papers from past kits for each of the four 4x6 pockets to adhere my pink circles on top of. The papers come from the Fun and Colors Storyteller Kits and the Watercolor Scrapbook kit. 

I love the way the super graphic black and white vellum patterns really pop and create a visual triangle with that very heavy black TV card. 

After I finished filming my process video, I decided that they needed some Ali style messy stitching around the edges to add some texture. Messy being the key word!

December Daily® 2025 | Main Kit Ideas

Hello there. It's Kelly Ishmael here and I am delighted to be on the blog today to share some ideas and inspiration for using the 2025 December Daily® Main Kit. 

Some of you may know me from my time on the Creative Team many years ago, but these days I am proud to be on the AED team behind the scenes. One of my favorite parts of my job is taking photos for our subscriptions and new releases, and this time of year is especially exciting with December Daily® release. I have so much fun playing with products and experimenting with different combinations for the styled shots I create. So today I thought I would show you a few of my favorite pieces from the main kit and how I might use them in an album.

My first thought upon looking through the items in the Main kit box was that the green felt DEC would make an awesome title page. I love the texture and dimension that it adds to the layout, and in the photo below I used the 10x8 album size and layered it with one of the frames and a die cut phrase. I set this little grouping on one of the 11x8.25 transparencies with the swan pattern paper (my absolute fave!) beneath it.

I tried something similar in the 6x8 album and layered the felt DEC with a chipboard number circle and a couple of stars on top of a patterned paper.

Since a title page is often one of the first things I think about in my album, I thought this giant wreath paper from the Main Kit would make a great opening page paired with a photo and some die cuts. 

For a title page idea in the 4x6 album, I layered one of the vellum wreaths with a die cut and plastic star. (I really love that mixed font 'december' die cut if you can't tell. lol)

Next up I had so much fun playing with the green vellum library pockets included in the Main Kit. I love the subtle texture of vellum in contrast with the patterned papers included in the kit. 

I love how they look as a standalone embellishment, but I also think they look awesome grouped togther on one page.

One of the really fun things about the pockets is that you can embellish both the front of the pocket and the library card insert. In the photo below I added some of the cute red puffy number stickers to the card to create a list.

And here I filled the pocket by tucking in little tags from the Vintage Vellum & Die Cut Tag Pack. The options are endless for these fun pockets!

Another one of my favorite embellishments from the Main Kit are these adorable oval scalloped journal spots. I love how they look grouped together on a page. 

I also thought they looked darling when I embellished them with some small red flowers from the clear sticker sheet.

And speaking of darling embellishments, these little plastic presents are so cute! I love the mix of shapes and colors and I thought they would be fun clustered together on a page. In this example I added a die cut phrase as a title along with a few red stars. I can see a layout like this as a home for a longer story or journaling.

I also loved the idea of creating my own journal cards using washi tape in the Main Kit. Here I slightly overlapped the two different strips and added a little die cut phrase banner. 

Words and photos are truly the heart of this project, and the cardstock frames included in the Main Kit are a versatile option for creating homes for both.

I'm thinking of pairing a full size photo with one of the frames to serve as my introduction (or reason why) in my album this year. To test out my idea, I've paired a 4x6 frame with some vellum from my stash. I then printed out some text and slipped it in behind the vellum. As a final touch I added a tab sticker to the top of my text.

I also thought these frames would look awesome as standalone pages in an album. Below I've used an attacher sticker in the 4x6 album to hold it in place.

In addition to the collection going live on Tuesday we will also open registration for our classes and Prep Day. Registration for these will be on our Classes page (outside of our Box Ordering system). 

This year we are offering three classes alongside our annual Prep Day (

Each of the three workshops will be offered with a $5 discount during the Box Order Period (through September). For ease of check out we are also offering all three classes together in a Bundle if you are planning to join us for all three (the discount is the same).

Here are some details about each:

Start Here: Design Formulas For December Daily® Ali will be sharing her tried + true design formulas that have helped her tell hundreds of stories in her December Daily® albums since 2007. Using her catalog of completed December Daily® albums, Ali will help remove some of the guess work out of the process of starting with a blank page and encourage/inspire you to be the boss of your stories in this project.  

Ali's background in graphic design + her years of teaching experience come together for this workshop to give you a solid starting place in your own December memory keeping adventures.  

This workshop will include: 

One main lesson that outlines Ali's Design Formulas + Principles she returns to again and again specifically related to December Daily®
Idea Book PDF that includes Ali's past December Daily® pages organized by design categories (includes tips)
This workshop will not include new project examples - Ali will be using her archives to illustrate her ideas

The goal for this workshop? Create a resource of ideas for you to refer back to again and again each December as you document your holiday season!

This class builds on Ali's original Start Here | Design Formulas For Memory Keeping. If you are looking for ideas + inspiration related to general memory keeping (not just December Daily® examples) make sure to check it out (includes a 92 page PDF Idea Book).

Storytelling With December Daily®. This is a workshop that many people in the community refer back to each year as they are getting ready to embark on the project again.

For Product Play in 2025 we are bringing you a fun new idea that presents ideas and inspiration for both physical and hybrid memory keepers (hybrid = using digital products to create paper projects). 

Side By Side Product Play will feature 12 lessons. Within each lesson one contributor will work with the physical product and one contributor will work with the same product in digital format.
Contributors to this workshop will be added here at a later date.

This workshop will include a digital kit with the corresponding digital elements used in the workshop.
Example: our contributors will be using four patterns from the Big Paper Pack so we will be including those four patterns in the download for the class. 

Classroom opens and lessons begin on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025. New lessons will be available each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday during November for a total of 12 lessons. All content will be archived in the classroom for future viewing.

Join the December Daily® community for a fun online December Daily® Prep Day on
Sunday, November 2nd, 2025. Use this opportunity to finish past December Daily® projects or start working on your project for 2023. The first live video will start on Sunday, November 2nd at 10:00 am Eastern. Cost is $5.

Each lesson will be open for you to access 15 minutes prior to the live content which will be available at the top of each hour. Then after the discussions and/or project ideas, you are free to work on your own projects, clean up, prep, etc. 
Note: We will have more details about the schedule and content in the coming weeks. 

Each topic will have its own Lesson within the 8 Hour Classroom. Inside each lesson you'll find the live video, a free download, a challenge, and a spot for conversation in the comments section of the lesson. We plan to have a corresponding Zoom room open as well throughout the event for additional community interaction. 

As with all our workshops and classrooms, all videos will be recorded so you can watch them at your own pace. You don't have to be online on the 2nd to access the content.

Join Ali, Lisa Varshine, Kelly Ishmael, and Azzari Jarrett for a countdown to December featuring one photo prompt per day along with specific photography tips for December photography. Class runs November 19th through November 30th. As with all our workshops everything is recorded and archived for later viewing on your own time. Cost is $15 to join during the boxing period and $20 after.

TENTATIVE 2025 PROJECT + PRODUCT SCHEDULE NOW AVAILABLE

Earlier this week on the blog Ali shared our 2025 project schedule. Recently we've been encountering some unexpected delays in manufacturing which is inviting us to be more fluid in our release/project scheduling (the reason why we've been holding off on sharing a more concrete schedule). Head there now for our rough schedule and a few general notes. We’re excited about the year ahead!

AUGUST DIGITALS 

The first Friday of every month we have a new digital release available in the shop. That mean's travel digitals are available now!  Play with scale, recolor objects, add journaling, print multiples…the sky is the limit when playing with digitals. Shop digitals here.
