Week In The Life™ 2025 | Special Guest Denine Zielinski
Hi friends! It’s Denine here, and I am excited to share my design plans for Week In The Life 2025 with you today.
I am especially excited for WITL this year because of the week that Ali chose (June 2-8). This will be my fifth WITL, and there was only one other time for me when the documenting week was during my Summer break. The other three years were during school. Life is quite different for me in each of those seasons as you can imagine. This year will be unique because I will be in school for the first half of the week and on break for the second half. So, I am really looking forward to seeing how that plays out for me.
In the video below, you can see + hear me as I flip through my album set up. I am really happy with my design plan, but I am also looking forward to leaving things open for change. Having a loose plan definitely helps for thinking ahead about what photos I will take as well as what orientations will work best and how many approximate photos I might need. Like Ali says, I am setting myself up for success.
If you have checked out Ali’s blog post, you know that she also used the 3x4 One Week Seven Days Journal Card for her title page. She cut it out and added it to one of the 11x8.25 Days Of The Week Patterned Papers from the Journal Card + Paper Variety Pack. I also cut mine out, but I chose to use the 11x8.25 Color Blocks Paper. I wanted to add a little more playfulness here, so I cut a larger scalloped oval shape from the middle of the paper and used clear cord to hang the cut-out journal card inside (yes, I am still channeling my inner December Daily vibe.)

On the backside of the title page, I used the same 11x8.25 Days Of The Week Patterned Paper that Ali used (oh, that red!), and I modified the digital version of the 3x4 One Week Seven Days Journal Card to add my reason why. That is adhered back-to-back with the original cut-out card that shows through the front side.

In the picture below, you can see how cute those cards look just hanging there as I turn the page.

After that we begin with my daily set up. Here’s a look at my Monday pages set up in my album.
After the Transparency Divider (cut down to fit the 6x8 album), I have the 3x8 Scalloped Journal Card from the Main Kit. Here, you see it in a page protector just to hold it in place. I have not yet decided whether I will add these cards with page attachers or if I will punch holes directly in them.

What I will write about on the 3x8 Scalloped Journal Card each day is TBD as is what I will be doing on the backside. I am initially thinking three small photos for the back. Next is a Citrus Twist 4x4 two pocket page protector that will be the home for the 4x4 Something From Today Journal Card from the Main Kit and mostly likely some photos.

Next, I have a 4 pocket Instax sized page protector also from Citrus Twist. One of the pockets will contain a Plastic Number from the Mini Kit. The other pockets will most likely be photos. I love little photos so much. If you have seen any of my 2024 Project Life spreads, you also know that I love having all different sized and shaped pages in my albums. The Citrus Twist page protectors are perfect for that.

I’m also super excited to add little tabs to them. I plan on creating my own tabs using the colors from the kit and different phrases. The photo below shows an example of how that might look + it just makes me happy!

After that will be a 3-pocket page protector with a 3x4 Journal Card from the Main Kit and a 4x6 Journal Card from the Journal Card + Paper Variety Pack. Placement of these cards (front or back of the page protector) will be determined later.

One of the products that I love + am going to use are the 10x4 Journal Cards from the Journal Card + Paper Variety Pack. I just haven’t quite decided how they will fit in. In the photo below, I cut one down from 10 inches to 8.25 inches to use to long ways. It’s in a page protector now, but will be added directly into the rings if I choose to use it in this way.

My other option is to cut them down to 6 inches and place them in the 4x6 pocket of the 3-pocket page protector. Either way, I will be adding one of the 2x2 Circle Die Cuts from the Mini Kit or the Day of the Week Chipboard shape from the Main Kit (or both) on top of the printed circle.
Also, in the photo above (and below), you can see a fun page that I created in PSE to document a few “Little Bits” every day. I love creating my own unique page to be added into each day. Last year, I created my own checklist. This year, this page will be home to either just journaling in each box or a combination of journaling and small photos. My topics here are Mood Check, Little Wins, Yes to This, Note to Self, Grateful for, No to This, Noticed This, and Best Moment.

As I was typing this post, I started thinking about the recent January 2025 SBTM 3x4 Stamp Set. If you’re not a subscriber, I added a photo of the set below. It has four little faces, each with a different mood…love this, so hard, meh, and LOL.

How fun would it be to stamp one of those faces in the Mood Check box? I measured the faces, and they will fit, too! So fun! By the way…this set is still available in both the physical and digital formats. Below is an example of what one of the stamps might look like. Here is a link for you to download my Little Bits page for yourself.

The last page for each day will be the Cardstock Insert from the Main Kit. Since it will be adhered to the backside of my Little Bits page, I had to insert it into the rings upside down and backwards. I am totally fine with this. I may or may not add the Bits Of Life Vellum Pockets from the Main Kit in the center of this page. Still unsure, but all I do know is that those vellum pockets will be used. They are one of my favorite pieces from this release!

Sketched out, here is a quick look at my plan that will repeat each day.

Thank you so much for joining me today on my Week In The Life prep journey. I’m really excited for the community documenting week beginning on June 2. I will spend the next few weeks elaborating on my design plan with more detailed ideas for what content I want to include, but having a loose set up feels fantastic!

Happy storytelling, my friends!

Week In The Life™ 2025 | Special Guest Jill Drangsholt
Hey friends! Today I'm excited to share with you a bit of my Week in the Life set up. I actually decided to jump right into my documenting after I set this up, so I am in the midst of my documenting week right now. I will share more of that soon, but for now let's look at my foundation pages!
Here's a walk through of how I have set up my album and how I plan to use some of the products:
And here are some photos of some of ways I am using the products:
I loved using the sticker sheet in the main set to customize some "ing" word cards for each day. Don't these stickers look so cute on the 4x6 cards from the paper pack? I was able to just use the words that are relevant for my life and for each particular day. For example, I only needed one "reading" sticker for the whole week, but I wanted to sprinkle the "watching" ones throughout, knowing I'd be watching multiple different things.
I decided that I wanted to fill the vellum pockets with circles instead of the scalloped ovals they came with, and I was very excited that the 2.5 inch circles on the Numbers Kit paper fit perfectly in the pockets! Since there are only 5 circles on that sheet, I used the digital to print out two more. I used a 2.5 inch circle punch to cut these out, but you can also hand cut them.
With the prompt of "life is currently measured by" on the circles, I decided they would be a great place to do some simple numbers based documenting with the Numbers Kit. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the prospect of the extra work to keep track of things during my week, so I looked for some simple things to count. Luckily, the plastic words in the kit not only lend themselves to some simple documeting, but they also fit perfectly on top of the circles! I glued mine down with permanent Scotch glue sticks and they seem to be holding really well. I also topped my circles with a washi tape faux ribbon. You can check out the video for how I created those.
Here is how I plan to use those plastic words:
DAYS: how many days in the week my son is with me and how many he is with his dad BOOKS: how many books I have check out at the library and how many I have on hold MEALS: how many meals I cooked, how many nights of leftovers, and how many dinners eaten out CUPS: how many cups of tea, coffee, fizzy water I drink in a day HOURS: how many hours I worked that week SLEEPS: how many hours I typically sleep right now and what time I go to bed and wake up WALKS: how many walks to the river and walks to my son's bus stop
I decided to use the color blocked scalloped dividers for my main journaling spot with the front page news on the back. I cut mine to 5.5 inches wide so that there is a bit peeking out from the next page. I love how covering most of the page with a white sheet of journaling leaves a cute pop of scalloped color.
My title page is very similar to Ali's, except I used a paper from the Grit Story Kit.
On the back of my title page, I am including a simple page to identify the main characters in my documenting week along with our ages and photos. I used a paper from the Fun Storyteller Kit as my base paired with the paper numbers from the Numbers kit and stamped names using the new stencil alpha stamp. I will add photos after the documeting week is over.
I hope you enjoyed this peek into my setup! I also think I may add a few of the 2x2 page protectors, but I was waiting to see if I have enough photos for that. My goal is to get my album all put together by the end of the community documenting week so that I can share how it looks just as everyone is ready to put theirs together. See you back here soon!

Week In The Life™ 2025 | Special Guest Linda Jordan
Hi there! This is Linda and I’m so excited that we’re going into Week in the Life season because this is absolutely my favorite scrapbooking project that I do each year. I have been participating in WITL since 2015, and it brings me so much joy to see my TEN completed albums on my shelf!
Even though I absolutely love this project, it is a ton of work and I get that it can be intimidating. In fact, before I created my first album, I simply observed the community documenting for a couple of years because I was unsure if I would be able to finish this project or if I would have anything interesting to document. But it turns out I can + I did + you do too!
I have found that the key to success with this project is going in with a plan + being flexible to adjust as you go, if needed. One of my absolute favorite ways to approach this project + keep it fun is to go on a “scavenger hunt” for specific stories/photos/information during the week. Today I wanted to share a bit more about what this means + some ideas you can use to bring this into your own documenting week + album.
The original concept for this project is to just capture your everyday life for a week. That concept is amazing + can totally be your entire project. But, for me, I like to have a little more direction to prevent myself from taking 1000+ photos per day and completely burning out on trying to capture every single detail.
So, instead, I create a list of specific photos + stories + information that I want to capture each day. This list has to be manageable, whatever that looks like for you. I also recommend keeping your list out somewhere where you will see it during the documenting week to remember to capture all the details (I keep mine on my desk). I also recommend checking in at the end of each day to see how you did capturing details on your list. In the photo above, you can see the list I used for last year’s project.
For this post, I want to focus in on what to capture + share my plan for a “scavenger hunt” for my Week in the Life project.
If you are stumped with what to document, let the products be your jumping off point! This year there is a “by the numbers” kit which is full of prompts of things to capture during your week. Some ideas of things to count using this kit:
Minutes spent on a particular activity (work, journaling, reading) Cups of a beverage (coffee, water, tea) Pages/chapters read Steps or miles Car trips Times you opened the fridge Diapers changed Times you opened instagram Photos takenIf you are unsure what to count here are some questions I asked myself in figuring out what I am going to focus on:
What do I do frequently now that I won’t always do like this? For example, if you are in a season of changing diapers, that might be a great thing to track because you won’t always be changing diapers, so it would be interesting to look back on.
What is something that I can fill in later if I forget? If you are worried that you’ll forget to capture a detail, consider something that you could go back and figure out later. For example, I know I will track my daily steps because my apple watch does that for me and I can always get that info at a later date.
What is something I want to do more/less of? Is there a particular activity you want to pay attention to because you hope to increase/decrease it? For example, if you have been wanting to read more, maybe consider counting the pages or minutes you read every day. Paying attention to how often you do something is a great way to track your progress with this goal over time and would be really neat to look back on in the future.
Don’t be afraid to be silly with it! What is a completely silly thing from your day that would be fun to count? For me, how many times I lose something on my desk comes to mind. It could also be something like how many times your kid says “mom” or how many strawberries you eat.
In addition to writing down details, I’ve also sought out specific photos during my project. What is something you could photograph everyday? Some examples of photos I’ve collected in the past:
Daily outfit Dinner Something circular Daily coffee Me at my deskIf you are unsure what to document, let the products guide you! For example, this year there are these fun scalloped dividers in the main kit with 3 large horizontal blocks. You can use this as a home for photos that come in threes or a long/narrow photo. Some ideas that come to mind:
photos of your breakfast, lunch + dinner each day photos of your morning, afternoon + evening each day a long, narrow horizontal photo (what can you capture that is that shape?)
One year, I was working on a puzzle during week in the life and I captured a photo of the progress each day, including the completed puzzle on Sunday (once I knew this was happening, I intentionally finished it on Sunday). This was so fun to see as a piece of my album! What is something you could capture every day and watch how it changes?
Are you worried you will get bored with capturing the same thing every day, or that you’ll forget, or do you just have too many ideas to narrow it down? Consider documenting a different thing every day. For example, the main kit includes fun word phrase strips with “ing” words like watching, working, reading and eating.
It would be fun to pick a different one of these words per day and use that as a jumping off point for a specific photo + story. In last year’s album, I picked one “ing” word that focused on a hobby of mine to document each day. In a previous year, I created pockets to document 4 different ing words each day. Some of these were duplicates day to day and others were not. You can also use this concept with the By the Numbers kit and count a different item everyday.
If you are a little nervous to tackle a photo or stat that must be captured during the day, don’t be afraid to pick somethings that are simply a snapshot of life right now that don’t have to be captured on a specific day.
In 2022, I decided to capture 7 spaces that I frequented to get photos of what they looked like right now (like my kitchen, craft room, and office at work). I didn’t necessarily take these on the days that they were included in the album, but took them during the week or the following week. They still show what those spaces look like at that particular time in my life + I love having them in my album. I also did something similar with flat lays of objects that I used during the week.
So what am I documenting this year? I am still not 100% set on how I am going to be doing this project, but I will be participating during the same week as Ali. However, I am starting my plan by creating my scavenger hunt list. This is what I have so far:
daily purchases/money spent my daily to do list the daily world, connections & NYT front page weather each day a circular photo (or more than one) daily steps miles walked cups of coffee meals cooked an AM photo & a PM photo a space in my house/life (similar to 2022 because so much has changed in just 3 years now that I am an empty nester!)In the video below, I talk through some additional ideas + the ones listed above and how you could include them with the products from this year’s release.
I hope this post helped give you some ideas for what to capture during your week in the life. I’ll be sharing how mine comes together over on instagram + youtube, I hope to see you there!

Storyteller 02 | Special Guest Jill Drangsholt
Hi friends! Jill here. Today I have a funny story to share with you about a squirrel that has been visiting my house lately. But before I get into the story, let's chat about the design. I loved what Ali said in the classroom about doing the low hanging fruit projects first. Meaning, whatever is easiest and comes to you first. For me, that is usually something with a grid, especially if it uses a divided page protector. So for today's project, I cut apart two of the 12x12 papers to create a grid using one of my favorite page protectors with a 9x12 grid with 9 slots.
For my journaling spots, I cut out the hand drawn ovals from one of the patterned papers. You could totally just hand write your journaling inside of them, but I decided to use the digital version of the paper so that I could fit more of my story into the spaces. I also used the digital version of the Alphas Are Awesome #25 to create the numbered titles.
For a finishing touch to my layout, I cut out the word "question" from a few of the 3x4 cards to create word phrase strips and put them on each of my photos. I love how they communicate my many questions about what the squirrel was up to.
As a reminder, you are the boss of your supplies and are allowed to cut a small part out of a card without worrying about wasting it. Using a small part is always better than not using any of it!
You can read about my squirrel story in the photo above or hear more about it in my process video as I tell an expanded version of the story while putting the page together.
Here are a few more close ups of the photos in my layout:
I hope you enjoyed my project and my story! And if anyone has any insight into this squirrel's behavior, please let me know!

Week In The Life™ 2025 | Ali's Album Set Up/Design Formula
Thanks for all your support on our Week In The Life™ launch!
I had so much fun doing a Q+A on Instagram that I ended up getting my album all set up with a design formula using pieces from the collection.
During the week of June 2nd I’ll be using the notebook to capture my stories - it’ll be wonderfully messy + loose + something I can keep close by as I go about my everyday life. After that I’ll print out my photos and figure out what words I want to add into the album. They will be stored together when I’m all done!
As with all our projects, there isn’t a right or a wrong way to approach this. It really depends on your own season of life and what makes sense and sounds enjoyable to you. The notebook might feel just right this year or you might want to go all in and do both or you might want to use your stash! It’s always less about the products and more about the storytelling - our goal is simply to create products that can be story sparks and homes for your memory keeping adventures.
More to come as we get closer to the documenting week! If you’d like to see what past completed projects check out our archives here.
Here's a flip through of my whole album that's ready for words and photos:
And here are the individual images of Monday (all the other days will follow the same design formula):
You can see my title page at the top of this post that uses a pattern paper with a cut out journal card on top. I also added the 2025 sticker from the sticker sheet in the Main Kit.
On the back of that page I'll be adding a reason why and I've attached one of the 1/2 circles with a paper clip to remind myself to use that when I work on that page.
From there each day will begin with a transparency. I cut down the 10x8 transparencies to fit into the 6x8 album (I'm saving the extras and may use them in the album when I'm putting it all together).

The next page in my formula is the 4x4 card (Main Kit) added into the album using a 4x4 page attacher.

Any place you see white or cream in this album is a space that will be a home for photos or words after the documenting week. Next up is a 3-pocket page protector with the Monday card and the vellum pocket and scalloped card (Main Kit).

On the back of that page protector I'm including the plastic quote (love how it peeks up out of the top of the page protector) and the "life in numbers" oval from the By The Numbers kit. The watercolor scallop 4x6 card is from the paper pack.
I decided to stitch the scalloped number 3x8 card to the days of the week pattern paper. I did this for each day of the week.

Next I've got a 2x2 page protector that's holding 1/2 circles, 2x2 cards from the paper pack, and some of the chipboard pieces from the Main Kit.
And then I've got the scalloped color blocked page next. I'm excited to see what I end up adding on here - this would be a fun place for stamping or adding numbers/things counted or more photos.
I'll end each day with a full page photo, a collage of photos, or some journaling.
And then the formula starts all over again!

Here's a few images of the kit + journal so you can see the scale:

A couple years ago we introduced a new journal option for Week In The Life™. Some people used it for note-taking/story collection during the documenting week and others used it for their entire project. We love that it brings additional options for people to tell their stories.
This is the same size as the One Little Word® Journal (6.25 x 8.5 approx).

Here's a look at the inside.

Each day includes a title page, a timeline, a "more of the story," -ing words, and a by the numbers page.

There are also two blank spreads in between each day (four blank pages total between each day).
Our friend Yin used the notebook for her project two years ago. She put together a whole blog post sharing what she did - totally worth checking it out if you are considering going in this direction this year. Here are a few images from her project:

Pieces Of You | A Memory Of You

We made it to the last prompt in the Pieces Of You chapter in our Pieces Of Life collection.
The last prompt is "A memory of you" and for this one I decided to include a couple past layouts I made about Anna many years ago now and one of my favorite photos of her as a little kid. I love bringing in the past scrapbook layouts - so many memories have been collected about her over the years.
I still love memory keeping and scrapbooking so much.
Let's dive in to the process video that includes a little flip through of all the spreads at the end:
And here's another look at the spread:

In the video you'll hear me talk about how much I appreciated having a design formula set up for myself at the beginning of this project. It made it really easy in terms of knowing what I needed (pattern paper + label + stamp + photo) for the second page and gave me creative freedom for the first page in each spread. I also love that this is a project with a beginning and an end. So fun.
Thanks for following along this week! We will be back with a new chapter in this series in 2026. We do have digital versions of all the notebooks available if you wanted to make your own in order to go back and do some of the previous chapters. You can see all the digitals for this collection here.
