Happy Friday, friends! Welcome to the latest
In Case You Missed It. Just a reminder that this is a quick post that will happen every Friday afternoon with all the updates and links that have happened throughout the week. So, let's get to it:

NEW STORY KIT THEME

Today we revealed our May Story Kit™ theme: SENSES. One of the best ways to tell a story is by looking at it through our five senses: tasting, touching, hearing, seeing, and smelling. Each of those lenses can take us deeper into a description of people and places and things in our lives. This month we are telling stories about our senses and making sense of the world around us. Take a look at Ali’s blog post, complete with video walkthrough and product photos here.

NEW QUARTERLY SCRAPBOOK KIT AVAILABLE

This month we also have our next Quarterly Scrapbook Kit release:  Black + White. Our Scrapbook Kit is a quarterly auto-shipment kit containing a variety of themed scrapbooking papers and embellishments. An auto-ship subscription means that when you sign up for this first kit you are signing up for the other two as well. The next two themes are: Numbers and Tags. Don't forget that this subscription INCLUDES the digital kit. Learn more here.

2022 TRAVEL RELEASE

We don't have a final release date for our 2022 Travel Collection, but we are tentatively planning for the end of this month. We will share the date as soon as we have it. Thanks so much for your patience. There will be a collection preview blog post a day or two before the collection goes live.

INSTAGRAM LIVE CONVERSATIONS

Earlier this week, Ali chatted with Karen Walrond (@heychookooloonks) about personal journaling + her book The Lightmaker’s Manifesto. The ladies discussed their personal process + why journaling matters in their own lives! Find a recording of that conversation here.

On Monday, May 16th, at 5pm ET, Krystal will be hosting our next Story Chat. We hope you can join us over on our Instagram account. If you can’t, the conversation will be recorded and available in our SENSES classroom.

Storytelling With Stamps | Dear Kids

Thanks so much for joining me in this season of Storytelling With Stamps

This is the last video for this release with Laura Wonsik but we'll be back again later this year with more fun ideas for using stamps.

Today's project - a short note to my kids - uses the new Love Is Love 6x8 Stamp Set

Let's dive in to the video:

Here is a look at how this project turned out:

One of the things I love about memory keeping is the opportunity to say things I want to say to my kids.

For this project I used the "love is love" stamp set to create a background pattern and then added a Graphix Plastic Sheet on top (stitched on top) to create a pocket to hold a couple tags. Along the top of this page I created a custom Silhouette File and used my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out and then added a photo collage of all five kids behind the die cut.

DOWNLOAD THE SILHOUETTE/PNG FILE HERE

To create my background pattern I used Olympia and Columbia inks along with two from Tim Holtz: Stormy Sky and Weathered Wood.

As you'll see in the video I start this project stamping all over the background (cut with my Silhouette). In the end I re-cut the Silhouette design because I liked it better on white without the stamping.

I printed my journaling on a printable transparency and laid it on top of one of the tags. Grosgrain ribbon comes in a package of a bunch of colors and can be found here

On the second tag I paired a felt ampersand with a green foam alpha sticker set (for our two last names). On top of that I added a stamped sentiment from the Ali Phrases 4x6 Stamp Set

Behind the Silhouette cut I added a collage of photos of the kids.

Storytelling With Stamps | April Stuff With Anna

Today's Storytelling With Stamps project features another story in my everyday life notebook and uses our new Woodblock Alpha Stamp Set

Let's dive into the video:

Here is a look at how this project turned out in my notebook:

Creating background patterns with stamps is definitely one of my favorite ways to use my stamps. For this project where I was detailing some one on one time I got to spend with Anna in April I decided to create a stamped background using the Woodblock Alpha Stamps and the Catch Phrases 4x6 Stamp Set ("with")

I used both our Willamette and McKenzie crafters inks for stamping on a piece of white cardstock which was then cut to fit into the notebook.

In Photoshop I created a collage of recent photos with Anna (sized to 4.25 inches x 8.25 inches). On top of the photo collage I added a fun puffy ampersand sticker along with two small foam alpha stickers. I also added a half-circle paper die cut along the bottom.

In between my stamped phrases I added puffy hearts from past releases. On top of my stamped background I added a "this happened" card from the April Stories By The Month Kit and added a sticker tab along the top from the May Stories By The Month kit.

Storytelling With Stamps | Everyday Life In A Notebook

Storytelling With Stamps continues with a short story in a new notebook I started for some everyday life stories.

Let's dive into the video:

Here's a look at the beginnings of this notebook:

Sometimes I've got everyday life stories I want to document but don't want to create a full layout. Some of these stories are ones I would have added to my Project Life album in the past (I've missed having a place for some of these over the last few years but am currently not interested in starting that project again). Enter an everyday life stories notebook.

I added a recent puffy circle add on from the Currently Story Kit to the outside of the notebook.

The first stamp I wanted to play with for this project is the Written Numbers 6x8 Stamp Set. I paired it with our restocked Lined Alpha 6x8 Stamp to create a title on vellum for the first story in this notebook.

Bring on the stacked dates and numbers (think birthday projects)! Along with the stamped numbers I also added a word/phrase sticker and a chipboard piece from a past project release. I added all this on vellum and added it into the notebook by adhering some of the vellum behind my full page photo.

On the back of the vellum I added another word/phrase sticker (clear) on the same location as the one on the other side. I also added another chipboard of the same shape.

I used the Catch Phrases 4x6 Stamp Set to create a stamped pattern and cut it to fit inside the space at the top of the notebook page. On top of that I added a pleather tag from a past project release.

As a title I used the phrase "abundance is a mindset" from the Ali Phrases 4x6 Stamp Set before handwriting my journaling about the plethora of shoes all over the floor in our house these days.

Bring on the small stories!

Storytelling With Stamps | Caring About This Right Now

Welcome back to Storytelling With Stamps

Today's project features the new Heart 6x8 Stamp Set and tells the story of some of the things that Anna cares about right now.

Let's dive in to the video:

Here is a look at the completed project:

This is a two-page outside the page protector project with a 4x6 photo/journal card insert. The background pattern paper on the first page is from the Rainbow Scrapbook Kit.

I started this project by stamping all six of the hearts on white cardstock using pink inks from Tim Holtz (see specifics in the supply list below) and then stamping all six designs again using black StazOn on vellum. I cut all those out with a small border and then layered the stamped vellum hearts on top of the stamped cardstock hearts (mixing up the patterns).

On top of those hearts I added puffy number stickers with a mini brad added inside the zero to attach the hearts to the pattern paper. I then printed out labels for each of those hearts with something that Anna cares about right now (these numbers + titles line up with the journaling on the back of the 4x6 journal card from a previous Story Kit).

I adhered a 4x6 photo to the back of the journal card with a sticker tab added in between. To the journal card I added number stickers from a word/phrase sticker set and added a few details. On top of the full page photo I added a wood veneer tag from the March Stories By The Month kit and stamped "open arms for this season" from the April Stories By The Month kit.

This was such a fun project to put together. I loved pairing photos of Anna + her friends with a list of the things she's caring about right now.

Storytelling With Stamps | Here For The Photos

Welcome back to Storytelling With Stamps

Today's project features the new Scrapbook 4x6 Stamp Set and a full page photo background:

Let's dive into today's video:

Here's a look at the completed project:

Sometimes it just feels awesome to use a photo as the foundation of your project. For this one I picked a recent photo of Audrey on the stair landing in our house. I used the photo as a jumping off point to write about what I'm "here for" related to her life right now. I added my text in Photoshop before printing.

Want to learn more about printing at home for scrapbooking? Check out this video.

After printing I used the "here for the photos" stamp from the Scrapbook 4x6 Stamp Set and a Tim Holtz Archival Ink. Below that I used the phrase "beautiful remembering" from the Ali Phrases 4x6 Stamp Set as a sub-heading. I also dove into my stash and added three chipboard rectangles from past kits along the edges of the photos.

Storytelling With Stamps | Everything's Fine

Continuing right along with my Storytelling With Stamps series today's projects features the Story + Stories 6x8 Stamp Set

We sold out of the first run of this stamp set but do have some "imperfect" sets available. The "imperfect" sets have two issues as seen in the red line areas below (we also have a digital version of this set available):

Let's dive into the process video:

Here are additional images of my completed project:

When I first saw the designs for this set I knew I would totally be using the stamp that says "everything's fine" because I those are words I've found myself saying over and over the last couple of years. I took this opportunity to write out that story and had fun creating a no-photo page to go along with my journaling.

The "here are the words on my heart right now" 3x8 paper is from the Write Story Kit. I ended up using the digital version to add my journaling before printing out here at home.

For the first page I stamped the "everything's fine" badge eight times using ink colors from a collection of Tim Holtz mini inks. After stamping them on white cardstock I cut them all out and left a white border around the outside edge. To create a home for those badges I drew a grid (essentially a tic-tac-toe grid) and printed that on printable vellum

Download the tic tac toe printable here.

Behind the vellum I added a fun daisy pattern paper and added adhesive behind the badges.

In the center of the grid I added a chipboard piece from the Write Story Kit.

Storytelling With Stamps | S & A

Next up in my Storytelling With Stamps series is a project that features the 6 inch x 8 inch Alpha Stamp, the Catch Phrases Stamp Set, the Ali Phrases 4x6 Stamp Set, and the Hearts 6x8 Stamp Set. This project is a great example of using a variety of stamps together to support a story.

I'm continuing to really have fun playing with projects and spreads that are outside of page protectors - especially getting to play around with interactive elements on the page.

Here's a look at how this project came together:

Here's a look at the finished project:

For this project I paired a full page photo foundation with a star pattern paper from the Star Scrapbook Kit. On top of the photo foundation I added a speech bubble heart which was cut out of a 12x12 sheet of pattern paper from the Heart Scrapbook Kit. Along the bottom of the first page I added text before printing and stapled a folder over sticker tab above the text.

On top of the speech bubble I cut out from the pattern paper I used one of the textured heart stamps + one of the "and" stamps from the Catch Phrases Set (using a fun bright pink from this Tim Holtz Ink set) + black puffy alpha stickers + a word/phrase sticker + a rolling date stamp.

To create the interactive heart on the second page I started with one of the large hearts from a 12 inch x 12 inch pattern paper from the Heart Story Kit

On top of the heart I used the 6x8 Uppercase Alpha to repeat stamp "movies" and then used the Ali Phrases 4x6 Stamp Set to add the quote in-between the lines of text. On top of that I added a peach plastic heart and a chipboard heart from a previous kit.

Under the stamped heart I adhered a heart photo + journaling. I used the digital version of the Heart Scrapbook Kit (did you know that when you subscribe to our Quarterly Scrapbook Kit you also get the digital version for free - you can also purchase it separately here) to create a home for my photo and my words. A small mini-brad was used to attach the top + bottom together and create the interactive piece.

Here's a video that shows you how I created a template to hold my photo + words from the pattern paper:
