Welcome to
December Daily® 2017 | Day 20.
Just a few more days to go in this adventure! Today I'm sharing the story of Anna's sweet visit with Santa - she was the only one this year who wanted a photo with Santa.
I love her heart.
Today I also played around with and adjusted the large heart I had created in the
December Daily® Product Play workshop.

Here's how Day 20 ended up in my album:
My first step today was to cut out the layered circle heart from it's original background and adhere it to one of the December Daily® 6x8 Transparencies. I also made sure to trace and cut out a second heart so I can cut up a photo tomorrow to adhere to the back.
The plastic hearts I used today were an Add On option for subscribers of the For The Love Story Kit™ and on top of both I used star chipboard pieces from the December Daily® Chipboard Bundle.
This metal-rimmed canvas tag is a super old product from Making Memories if I remember correctly. On top I added a cork #20 and a "visiting Santa" sticker from the December Daily® Word/Phrase Sticker Bundle. I added one of the 1/2 circle journaling cards on top of the photo of Santa + Anna and ran that through my typewriter.
This transparency has a super light green text print on top of it. It's a little easier to see below.

A super simple page today. Let's hear it for the simple pages - for those pages that add to the overall story of the month.
I didn't have a story in mind when I started working on this page. I took a look at the photos I took yesterday and picked these two that both featured feet - one set from my walk and one set from when I took Anna and Simon to see Wonder.

December Daily® 2017 | Day 18
Welcome to December Daily® 2017 | Day 18.
Today I'm sharing a story about Anna working on her December Daily® Kids Album. I had been waiting for some time when both girls would be here for them to play with them together but plans changed and Audrey's with her Grandparents for much of this week.
For this story I ended up creating a flip-out using 1/2 of a 6 inch x 8 inch photo and a journaling card from the December Daily® Log Book. It's a fun way to play around with photo enlargements and still include a story.

My 6 inch x 8 inch photo was printed on my Canon Pixma MG7720. I cut it in half and then used washi tape and pattern paper on the inside to create a page that opens. See the video below for full details.
To create a "tab" along the edge I used one of the chipboard circles on the outside and one of the gold-foil circles on the inside. Super easy way to designate a fold-out page.

December Daily® 2017 | Day 17
Welcome to
December Daily® 2017 | Day 17.
Today I'm telling the story of the two birthdays our family celebrated this past week by creating pages to go inside the printed star pocket.
Here's a look at Day 17 from my

And here's how I included my actual story:
On top of the "december stories" gold foil tag I added one of the glitter embellishment stars with "17" on top using the white letter stickers from the main kit.
On the pocket page I adhered the "let's get festive people" tape I removed from a JCrew box I received in the mail.
Inside the pocket I added three printed 5 inch x 7 inch pages that included photos and journaling. I love that the
Epson PictureMate PM400 can print the 5 inch x 7 inch size too. I chose to just do one side of these but you could totally add more photos or more words or pattern paper to the back.
These journaling and photo pages use word art from this year's
December Daily® Layered Template Set Vol. 4 and along the top edge I added index tabs. Inside one tab I used one of the perforated word/phrase pieces and I custom printed the other two.
You could do all kinds of fun things with pages this size: create booklets, add more photos, etc.

December Daily® 2017 | Day 16
Welcome to

Today's story is about going to see
The Last Jedi and it's a great reminder that you don't have to have a photo to tell a story.
As you'll see in the video I had fun playing with embossing, using a typewriter, and adding small tags to my larger tag.

And here's a look at how I ended up telling my story:
I started this one with the back of one of the large gold foil tags. I knew I wanted to just use my
Sans Serif Lowercase alphabet stamps to tell my short story and decided to use gold embossing powder vs. just stamping with ink.
After stamping and embossing my phrase - perfectly imperfect by the way - I took the tag over to my typewriter and added a few things on the bottom. I added a phrase above "awesome" which was mainly to fill in that space and then added the names of our whole crew who went to the movie together.
It was a little tricky, as you'll see in the video, mainly because of how close the typing was to the bottom of the tag. Embracing imperfection all the way on this one!
Here's a look at the tag with the smaller tags lifted up off the top.
The little tags I added include the movie ticket + one of the 2-inch gold foil squares with a cork number adhered to the back.

December Daily® 2017 | Day 15
Welcome to
December Daily® 2017 | Day 15.
Today I'm adding my story to the heart "storybook" page I set up during my
Product Play Workshop last month. That workshop is still open if you wanted to jump in and get a much closer look at how I built some of these pages (focusing on hearts, circles and stars).
My page today invites a story about loving home. It's total coincidence that the title of this story is "
for the love of home" - it's a phrase that I often use and I loved being able to use it for the Story Kit™ theme this month. You can read more about the For The Love kit here.
To tell my story I decided to get myself in the story by setting up my camera + tripod outside my front door and take a couple shots of myself between my two fake trees on my front porch. Those trees are from Target and the silver tubs are from Home Depot. I totally laughed at myself and had fun taking photos of myself with my cup of coffee in hand. I used the self-timer to get myself back in the doorway before the shutter clicked.
This whole thing totally reminded me of a story I told
back in 2015 when I was putting up garland and lights along my front porch railing - it was all about making our own magic and choosing to find the joy no matter what is happening in our lives.

Magic is something we make. Yes. This project always helps me remember this and I'm so thankful.

For the alphabet stamping I used my
Sans Serif Alpha Stamp - totally love this set. I also added a black chipboard number, a chipboard phrase, and a couple gold stars.
And page 2 (the center page and what you see when you turn to this page in the album):
I left this page the same except I added the
For The Love stamp inside the index tab.
And page 3:
For this page I cut out on of the shots of myself using the original heart as a template. On top of the photo I added a wood veneer circle + a small gold foil circle on top.
The "around here" stamp is from the
Daily Words Stamp Set.
And then here's what I did on the back side of the transparency:

December Daily® 2017 | Day 14
Welcome to December Daily® 2017 | Day 14.
Enjoying the process over and here and what feels like a calm before the storm of next week as we get closer and closer to Christmas Day and the kids get out of school. I'm looking forward to having them all here for parts of next week so we can do some of those traditionally fun activities like decorating cookies. I'm also looking forward to having both the girls here at the same time so they can work on their December Daily® Kids albums. Their approach won't be daily (obviously) - I'm treating more as a fun activity for them to do when school is out. I'll share more when that happens.

I decided to just use one of the plastic diamonds today and will likely include others in future stories. You can hear much more about that in the video below.
My story today is about what we do when the kids are with their other parents and I decided to create lines on my sewing machine to hold my journaling.
The sewing machine I use is a Brother XL2600i. It's been a great machine for me.

December Daily® 2017 | Day 13
Welcome to December Daily® 2017 | Day 13.
One of the stories/things I always include in my album is my Christmas card. It's super easy to just punch holes and add them to your album.
Our Christmas card is definitely super special this year using photos that Tara Whitney took of my family on our wedding day. I hope to share more of those photos here soon.
In addition to the card I included a photo that Aaron took of me working on the Christmas card stuffing process.

December Daily® 2017 | Day 12
Welcome to December Daily® 2017 | Day 12.
Today I was working with the back of the 1/2 circle from yesterday and then decided to move some things around to fit my story for today about our trees. You can hear me talk through my process in the video below.

I decided to switch out the red felt heart and the black "bring on the merry" card and moved up a page that included a tree journaling card and a transparent twinkle tree.
Rather than use the red felt heart with this story I switched it out for the large green rubber "comfort and joy" circle because I liked it with the tree card better.
My story is simply about when the tree went up and how I'm waiting to add the ornaments until all the kids are here at the same time (probably next week).

Stories of love play a big role throughout our lives. The things we love (and have loved), the people we love today and yesterday, the places we love, etc. Love can break our hearts or fill them up - and sometimes it’s a crazy combination of both. This month we are celebrating stories of love.

For the love of “love” other than romantic love - tell a story about love shared between friends.
How do you show love to those you care about most? How do you most like to receive love?
