This is the part where you’dordinarilyintroduce yourself, Romeo.”

“And ruin my mystique? Pretty sure Romeo kept his mask on when he met Jubilee.”

I know a thousand different smiles, each with its own nuanced shade of meaning, but I don’t know how to reach the few feet away to touch this person next to me. I don’t know how to talk to him. Not when it’s real.

#summerbookchallenge15 unexpected ending… dear lord… these 3 were what immediately came to mind for today’s post. These endings destroyed me. I read them all about a year ago (These Broken Stars in December ‘13) and I still ecen after over 100 books remember how they ended. Love these books so so much!
.

QOTD: what books had some unexpected endings for you?

tofeelinfinite:

“I think I miss most the Lilac who t r u s t e d Traver Merendsen.”

Lovely.

(And for some reason there are a lot of people who think it’s “Traver” and not “Tarver,” which both mystifies and amuses me. It’s like how I totally thought it was Iorek Byrinson, in the Golden Compass, for aaaages until I saw the movie and they were all “Iorek Byrnison” and I was like “THAT IS SO NOT AS POETIC.” /endramble)

Who is your least favourite character in THE STARBOUND TRILOGY?

I don’t have a least favorite character, really. If I did, I would’ve fixed that in revisions! To me, liking a character isn’t the same as liking someone as a person. I’d love a character who was a horrible person, if he or she was complex and interesting, far more than I’d love a heroic character who was one-dimensional.

If someone held a gun to my head and asked me which character I thought was the worst person, I guess I would say Roderick LaRoux, but as you’ll find out in Their Fractured L...

These- Shattered-Light

Karen Gillian as Lilac & Jermey Irvine as Tarver

Candice Patton as Jubilee & Darren Criss as Flynn

Kate Bosworth as Sofia & Jamie Bell as Gideon

LOVE these! Fancasts are always absolutely delightful, and this one sets the record for the first Sofia and Gideon I’ve seen. ;)

THERE'S A NEXT BOOK

You’ll have to be more specific! I have a number of things coming“next.” There’s the final book in the Starbound trilogy, Their Fractured Light, out in December of this year. Then there’s Hunted, a Beauty and the Beast retelling, which comes out early 2017. Then there’s Unearthedand its sequel, a science fiction duology I’m writing with amiekaufman, which comes out in 2017 as well. Then there’s two more books with the same publisher as Hunted, which I can’t discuss yet. You can find synopses of...
