Be safe. Be kind. Be YOU. An open letter to all transgender readers. Please share widely.
After NC passed a horrifically discriminatory and hateful law against transgendered people, a group of YA authors band together to protest the law and assure our transgendered teen readers that we see you, we love you, and we are fighting for you.
Please share the love.

YA Girl Power- Lilac Laroux (These Broken Stars)
I know a thousand different smiles, each with its own nuanced shade of meaning, but I don’t know how to reach the few feet away to touch this person next to me. I don’t know how to talk to him. Not when it’s real.

Lilac LaRue and Tarver Merendsen from THESE BROKEN STARS by @amiekaufman and @meaganspooner ! My favorite YA couple! I loved how the evolved together and are so mature and learn about each other through their adventure and it’s just all such a positive dynamic.

(Thank you, @fictograph for drawing such a lovely picture of our babies! You artwork is so phenomenal!)

I’m more than half way through Their Fractured Light by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner and all the characters from the previous books have met up and shit is going down and
TBH that is kinda how @amiekaufman and I felt writing that part. ALL THE PEOPLE ARE HERE OMGGGGGGGG. All the shit we’d been planning for so freaking long and finally we get to write them all together. *evil finger steeple*
Hi Meagan! So in TFL, it was stated that Tarver was a captain and Lee said he got promoted into Major. I thought that captain was the highest honour, or is it Commander? What is the lowest rank?
The military ranks in the Starbound series are loosely based on those in the US Army, though with some exceptions. When Tarver was a Captain, Jubilee was a Lieutenant. After the events of This Night So Dark, which took place just prior to the start of These Broken Stars, he was promoted to the rank of Major. During the time Tarver was stranded with Lilac, Lee was promoted to Captain during her service on Avon. So that part goes Lieutenant – Captain – Major. After that you get varying degrees...
If you had anymore Tarver dog tags, would you make another giveaway? Sorry I know you get this kind of question a lot, but I just live for book jewelry! Oh and I just finished Their Fractured Light and I cannot thank you enough, both you aand Amie, for wri
Eeee, thank you! So glad you enjoyed the book!
We do indeed have more of the Tarver dog tags/Lilac pendant necklaces. They’re limited in quantity though, custom-made (obviously!) and we reserve them for giveaways. Right now, with the downtime between series, we’re not running lots of giveaways (we’re focusing on, you know, writing the books!) but we do give away a pack of swag (including the necklace!) every month to a newsletter subscriber, so if you’re subscribed there, you’re automatically...
