Many of you who follow me have heard me mention something called Odyssey in the past, usually in conjunction with phrases like “changed my life” and “wouldn’t be here without it” and “JUST DO IT.” Well, as we look ahead to 2016 and make our resolutions and (aspiring authors, I’m talking to you) declare that THIS IS THE YEAR, I want to mention Odyssey in a little more detail.

“There was an episode, one of my favorite moments in Star Trek, when Captain Kirk looks over the cosmos and says, ‘Somewhere out there someone is saying the three most beautiful words in any language.’ Of course you heart sinks and you think it’s going to be, ‘I love you’ or whatever. Drunk Girls Get Surprised With Puppies

This is so lovely, got me smiling like an idiot

I am so happy that they are happy

“I should not drink whisky I CANNOT PROTECT THEM”

I want a job where I am told to get drunk and am then given puppies.

hizome:

We call them the Collective.

I’m in that particular hell when I finish a book series and my only way to quench my obsession is by drawing parts of it.

I can’t even, with this. SO GORGEOUS. And I love that it is about a very specific part of Their Fractured Light but without being spoilery for those who have no idea to what it refers, so I can actually reblog it.

Thank you, @hizome!!! Beautiful.

You know I’m taking a semi-official social media break when my DAD is the one who runs in shouting“DONALD TRUMP GOT ATTACKED BY A BALD EAGLE HELP ME TO YOUTUBE”

This is my calendar image for the 2016 Beyond Words Calendar. It is FULL of fancy fantasy authors (see below) grappling with snakes and playing with fire. I’m not kidding. All proceeds go to First Book and Worldbuilders and you can get it here!

I was so nervous about doing this because I get very nervous in front of a camera, very “where do I put my hands??” But I ended up having a ridiculously good time, and come onnnn, I got to have the most Stevie Nicksian of moments. It was g...
