Telling Germany that full-throated backing of Israel is immoral

Public debate in Germany around Israel/Palestine is broken.

As a German citizen, I’m deeply ashamed with how the German government continues to blindly back and arm Israel.

It’s why I signed, alongside 100s of others, a public statement aiming to pressure the German government to reverse course. It’s received coverage in the German media.

Talking the Palestine Lab on Italy’s leading investigative TV show

My book, The Palestine Laboratory, was recently released in Italy.

I was interviewed about it on the Italian TV show, Report, the most important investigative show in Italy broadcasted by the Italian Public Television, Rai.

It’s pleasing to see a country like Italy, with a right-wing government, strongly interrogating the role of the Israeli arms industry (and Italy’s complicity with it).

The allure of “battle-tested” tools in Palestine

Battle-testing new weapons and defence “equipment” in Palestine are key aspects of the Israeli war machine.

The Israeli company Smartshooter is just one example.

Declassified UK details how the British army is now relying on them:

The British army’s main global response force is now equipped with new Israeli technology being used in Gaza.

The Air Assault Brigade, based in Colchester, has been training with high-tech weapons sights manufactured by Israeli arms firm, Smartshooter.

The brigade is held at high readiness to respond to crises, including warfighting, “anywhere in the world”, the army says.

Last month soldiers in the brigade shot down enemy drones in an exercise on Salisbury Plain using newly-acquired weapons sights from the Israeli firm.

Journalist Antony Loewenstein has shown how Israel has routinely deployed new types of military equipment against Palestinians and then marketed and sold these around the world.

He told Declassified: “Smartshooter is just one of many Israeli companies testing equipment on occupied Palestinians. It’s a highly profitable business and the slaughter in Gaza isn’t slowing down the trade. If anything, it’s increasing due to many nations attracted to the Israeli model of subjugation and control.”
