Talking to the Muslim community about Jewish dissent
I’ve long believed that it’s important to talk to other religions about the growing prevalence of anti-Zionist Jews.
That’s partly why I recently spoke to the Muslim media outlet, One Path Network, about my work and life.

Foundation for Middle East Peace conversation about Palestine, its future and why it’s hard to find hope
Foundation for Middle East Peace is a US think-tank working towards a just peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
I was interviewed on its podcast, Occupied Thoughts, by host Ahmed Moor (with whom I co-edited the book, After Zionism).
We discussed the Palestine laboratory, my Jewish identity and new film, Germany’s Israel Obsession, and the future of Palestine.

Looking to capitalise on destruction in Gaza
Who’s going to make money from the proposed “ceasefire” deal in Gaza?
The UK outlet Byline Times asked me to comment about the pro-Trump billionaires getting excited:
Antony Loewenstein, author of The Palestine Laboratory: How Israel Exports the Technology of Occupation Around the World which explores the sophisticated technological infrastructure of Israel’s occupation of Palestine, warns against Big Tech’s role in the post-war ‘management’ of Gaza. “I’ve spent over a decade investigating the role of Western defence and tech companies in the occupation of Palestine and decimation of Gaza since 7 October 2023,” he told Byline Times.
“The security of obtained data is highly questionable, Palestinians will not know what’s being kept on them, and this is just the latest example of Israel and its supporters looking for ways to ‘manage’ the occupation, a so-called ‘frictionless’ arrangement.’ During the Gaza genocide, Big Tech has been deeply complicit in Israel’s war machine, from Amazon to Microsoft and Google to Palantir, and these companies should be nowhere near the Palestinians who don’t need to be controlled by unaccountable Silicon Valley corporations.”

The Palestine Laboratory film series short-listed for prestigious Walkleys award
I’m rapt to announce that my film series, The Palestine Laboratory, has been short-listed for a Documentary Award at the Walkleys, Australia’s leading journalism award.
It’s a team effort with the amazing British director Dan Davies, UK production team Black Leaf Films, Al Jazeera English and a global network of researchers and fixers.
As a freelance and independent journalist, it’s pleasing that this kind of challenging work is being recognised:

What occurs in Gaza won’t stay there
After the declared ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, brokered by the Trump administration, the British journalist Owen Jones wrote a powerful column in The Guardian about how what happened in Gaza won’t stay there. He kindly mentions my work:
Listen to Israeli scholar Shmuel Lederman when he argues that Gaza became “a laboratory for genocidal violence” – but also a testing ground for “new weapons and security technologies.” Israel, notes Australian journalist Antony Loewenstein, has long tested its inventions on Palestinians, and then exported them: spyware, facial recognition and biometric databases, drones, smart fences and AI-enabled targeting systems.
