New fantasy illustration products available
Yes! I am working on new sewing patterns! Since most of us are shut-ins right now we could use some fresh creative ideas, right?! I’m working on a new dragon pattern for you guys, as well as a larger, jointed gryphon. I’ve released sewing patterns for a new Waldorf inspired dollhouse doll (she’s poseable!), and a pixie already. While you wait, here are a few new products to bring a smile to your face!
Forest Friends sticker is 5″ x5″ and printed on heavy, durable vinyl. You can order him here.
I’ve got a couple of different products with my cute faerie baby illustration on it. You can order cards, prints, and 16″ pillow covers. More colorways are on their way!
And don’t forget that Mother’s day is coming up! Send your mom a unique card that celebrates how cool she is! Order my Gnome one like you, mom card here.
Of course, you can always shop through my Etsy store as well.

A good time for hand crafting

The governor of Michigan just closed all the schools. Many people are going to be wondering how to entertain the kids without the tv or video games being on 24/7. Now is a great time to spend crafting and teaching children basic sewing skills! In the spirit of finding the silver lining, I’m offering a 19% discount on all crafting patterns. Simply use this discount code at checkout: covid19.
Here are a few pattern suggestions for kids: Swirly Turtle, Lindwyrm, Tibbles the elephant, Graveyard Angel Barrette, or for more advanced kids the Maned Bookworm might be a good choice!
If you’ve got crayons, markers, or colored pencils hanging around, you can download this illustration to color! Or make a Shrinky Dink tag to hand on your backpack or glue a pin to the back! However you decide to use it, just remember that it is for your personal use only.
There are also free softie sewing patterns available–just search for “Free Softie”.
Enjoy this forced schoolcation, and happy creating!

Cuddle up with a book! Our Christmas favorites

“The Night Before Christmas”
I
can’t really pick only one favourite Christmas book, so I’ve decided to
single out “The Night Before Christmas” by Clement C. Moore, for
sentimental reasons…
I
believe I’ve managed to find the cover of the pop-up book version I had
as a child. Every Christmas Eve of my early youth, my Dad would read
the story to me before I went to bed to await Santa’s arrival.
It’s
Dad reading “The Night Before Christmas” as well as “The Hobbit”
(J.R.R. Tolkien) to me that are my fondest memories of time I spent with
my father as a child—particularly when we lived on our own for a couple
of years. He had a gentle tone of voice that was appealing to listen
to.
My father passed
away a couple of years ago now, and I find myself thinking about the
books he read to me more often these days. Particularly our annual
tradition, “The Night Before Christmas.”
So, read to and with your kids, guys. I know you probably already do, but maybe read together more often. It means everything.
