Reasons For Writing
If writing was about making money, then many starving authors over the years were failures. And, I do not believe they were.
If at the end of the day, I:
Put a smile on a face,
Ease a hurt,
Heal a broken heart,
Help calm an anxious soul,
Give hope to one without any,
then my writing has done what is should do, serve others.
Happy writing!

One Less Offense On Their Conscience

From Oil Paintings in Black and White
Gracious Acquiescence
As a pedestrian, It is definitely my right to cross before cars.
Is that a true statement? Maybe.
But the truth is, over the years, I discovered that most people are in a hurry. Also, if you delay them, they get angry and their day is ruined.
Instead of using the "right" to cross in front of a car, I watched my husband choose to go behind the vehicle at a crosswalk. It gives the driver a chance to turn right if he needs to...

Why Write
I write because I love words and I have a story
not to please anyone but my own need to tell it.
If for some reason I end up sharing joy
Then it is a pleasure
But if you hate my writing
Don't worry about it.
I am not writing for you.

Live Your Life

Yeah and at last, we all end up in the same place. Nathan used to say that all the time. Remember, we end up dead so live your life the way you want.

Leaving May Be Hard But For Whom
"No what will Mikel do without me?"
Eleanor lifted her head to look towards Salma.
"Somehow we convince ourselves that we can protect them from themselves. Joseph did not need me. He was a grown man who could make up his own mind, dealing with his own affairs and life. Mikel is a grown man Salma."
"But, I…"
"Yes, I know. We also find it fulfilling that they need us. They don't. They have proven it over and over again."

If You Are Old and Crabby, You were Young and Crabby

"No one is different when they get older," she said with irritation. "If you're old and crotchety, you were young and crotchety. If you're a pleasant old person, you were probably pleasant as a young person also."
She adjusted in her seat.
"We're the same inside even though our bodies are," she looked for a word, "rotting."
"Why do we say that? Why do we always assume that older people have to be crabby or sweet?"
"Stupid idea! Came from giving allowances to nasty people to be vile, as if their a...

Speak Out Your Heart In Words
But the defeated wife never communicated what she really wanted to say. Decorum dictated it, rotting tradition and decent human intercourse dictated politeness not avarice. Telling him that she supported him during his time of need, where now it was fair share, was out of the question. Tears of outraged vanity blurred her vision. The wild whirl of nameless regret and passionate sorrow overwhelmed her as she felt like a ruined broken wreck.

Favorite Costumes Favorite Movies to Share

An amazing movie this "Moulin Rouge" with incredible music, terrific costumes and great talent. Under appreciated, it remains a favorite with music lovers.

Then came Jessica Biel who took my breath away when she came on the screen in that gorgeous dress and danced the tango in "Easy Virtue" with non other than heart throb Colin Firth.

I would like to believe that Michelle Pfeiffer did this "Cherie" just for fun because it certainly did not make the money hoped. Gorgeous costume. Romantic...
