Exude contagious enthusiam
Exude contagious enthusiasm
What is contagious enthusiasm? Why do you need it, and how can you get it?Contagious enthusiasm is a devilish smile or a special glint in someone's eye that is an absolute giveaway that they are having far too much fun. If you live an extraordinary life as the result of your own doing—making your dreams and passions come true—your enthusiasm can't help but shine through. When you have it, others recognize it immediately and become drawn to you, wanting to be a part of the magical aura you exude.
STRIVE to communicate with enthusiasm
S – Smile as much as you canT – Trust your instincts and be sure you instill trust in othersR – Recognize the positive and the good in othersI – Invest in relationships; invest your time and patienceV – Validate others by asking questionsE – Encourage openness and trust

Kick the crutch out from under your excuses
The power behind taking responsibility for your actions lies in putting an end to negative thought patterns. You no longer dwell on what went wrong or focus on whom you are going to blame. You don't waste time building roadblocks to your success. Instead, you are set free and can now focus on succeeding.

Once you figure out what you want in life—expect nothing less!
Here's a saying that I love—in fact I wish I had come up with it! "Don't be content with average as it is just as close to the bottom as it is to the top." With that in mind, here's a list things to think about to help you focus on creating an anything but average life:
1) You have a choice in how you live your life and you can change midstream if you find that things aren't working out for you. You have the ability to regroup and try again. 2) You don't need to follow anyone's example, and you don't have to follow a stereotypical lifestyle. What will work for you?3) Perhaps you are content with your life, but contentment can sometimes be the beginning of complacency. Examine whether you are truly content and whether that contentment has enough substance to last you a lifetime. If not, embrace change.4) You don't need to stick with the same lifestyle all of your life. Sometimes opportunities come your way that change things. For example, in the workplace, you may find that your skills also work well in different areas where you could progress more quickly or where you feel more challenged. You may be drawn to a profession such as a journalist, performing artist, or sales and marketing executive, where extensive travel is necessary. This in itself would lead you to a different lifestyle. 5) Take time to assess what you want and need. Do this on a regular basis and address what is and isn't working for you. Then make changes accordingly.
Here is possibly the most important thing to remember: once you figure out what you want in life—expect nothing less.

Remove the temptation to settle for anything short of what you deserve
Is it your mandate to "settle?" Do you hold yourself back, put others first, devalue your opinion, manipulate the facts to support why you should stop what you are doing and retreat?
I would guess not -- at least not intentionally or to the degree that you out-and-out decide to settle.
Can it be tempting? Absolutely! Sometimes even running in full retreat may sound like a great and welcome temporary escape.
Moreover, there's something to rebounding from a "What the hell just happened" make-it-happen moment. You bounce back with a fresh perspective!
What if you remove all temptation to settle for anything short of of what you deserve?
What if you upgrade your mandate in life to include a "put yourself first" focus?
If you are confident that you have done the work, know what you want, and deserve that chance or opportunity -- why settle?
Funny, no reason comes to mind!

Your desire to succeed must overpower your fear of failure!
Your desire to succeed must overpower your fear of failure!
What a great way to kick off 3 Off the Tee: Make it Happen (MIH) Pub. date: Mar. 2012.
I love this statement and I love the assumption that we all have fears to overcome whether it be fear of failure, fear of the unknown, or even fear of success? Why? A little bit of fear means we are real, aware and pushing ourselves.
It's like asking yourself "What if ...? What do I want? What do I need to do to succeed?"
If there isn't some hard-core challenge laced with the twinge of fear attached to your answer ... where is the fun? Ultimately though, when does it all work? When your desire to achieve or succeed is so well tweaked and honed you won't let anything stand in your way.
Grrrrrr..... yeah, that's the spirit -- the Make-it-Happen spirit.
Get ready to get your game on!!!

Educated Optimism -- Mindset or Lifestyle or Both!
Educated Optimism is the title of the last chapter in my first book 3 Off the Tee: Targeting Success.
The basic concept...
[Excerpt from Targeting Success]
This kind of self-study works and it turns you into an educated optimist. You are mentally stimulated; you know a little abut a lot of different things that you are interested in, and you have a lot to talk about. You have effectively rendered yourself interesting.
The thing is that when you continue to learn, you invest in yourself -- this is one of the best investments you can make! Really! It's making the time to explore, expand and grow -- and of course have fun doing it.
I recently talked to a group of people where I asked, "What is going on in your life?" A simple question but the answers were astounding and varied from over the top enthusiastist to bleak, bogged down, in a rut, and stuck!
The Enthusiasts!!! had the following commonality - they were "doing!" -- learning, traveling, interacting.
Those feeling stuck!!! were stuck -- repeating and doing the same things over and over. Moreover though they lacked in general optimism -- they had little to look forward to.
So I thought -- how does one make the transition from stuck to enthusiastic? Does it start with your mindset or the lifestyle that you create? Do the two go hand in hand?
(I hadn't realized it at the time but where I ended book one -- Targeting Success, was a great springboard for book two -- Make it Happen which is in for final edit now. Sometimes things do just fall into place!)
So, my question to you? What is going on in your life?
If you are an Enthusiast, where does you sense of optimism come from? and When do you feel the rush of being able to do anything, like you are invincible?
If you are feeling stuck ... What do you want to do? When are you going to start? Start mulling it over!
For me a healthy, competitive mindset is key and my lifestyle is reflective of that mindset. There is no limit to the great things I "visualize" ahead of me -- The more I do and the harder I work, the brighter my future!!!
