Christmas Shopping: An R.L. Mathewson Chronicle

Christmas Shopping

An R.L. Mathewson Chronicle

“Get in the truck,” came the demand that would have normally had her running the other way and yelling for her Dad, but since she had a math test waiting for her at school today …>/p>

Mikey turned around and climbed into the black pick-up truck, shoving her best friend out of the way in the process and once he accepted the fact that she was sitting next to the door, she shoved her backpack onto his lap, adjusted her baseball cap, put her seatbelt on, grabbed her baseball out of her bag, and sat back with a sigh and another wiggle to ensure that the large boy glaring at her understood that the large comfortable passenger seat was hers. He responded by tossing her bag in the back, unclipping her belt, picking her up and shifting towards the right before promptly depositing her in the middle where she was expected to use a lap belt and accept less than half the foot space while squeezing in between him and his father.

Narrowing her eyes on the large jerk settling in with a book in the comfortable passenger seat that was rightfully hers, she promptly unclipped his belt, climbed onto his lap, forcing him to shift the book out of the way before she grabbed the belt, clipped it, and settled back with her arms folded over her chest with a glare aimed at the passenger rearview mirror that dared him to try anything as she began rolling the baseball between her hands. With a glare of his own, he wrapped his arm around her, shifted her to the side and returned his attention to his book while she sat there, deciding to gloat.

That is until he retaliated by poking her in the side, which led her to decide that perhaps she should be the bigger person and stop glaring. That left her with nothing to do but focus her attention on the man driving them in the opposite direction of her school, which she was actually okay with.

“So, what are we doing?” she asked, shifting to get more comfortable.

“Christmas shopping,” her seat mumbled as he turned another page.

Worrying her bottom lip, she said, “I don’t have any money.”

“Yes, you do,” Sebastian said, shifting a bit so that he could reach into his pocket and pull out the Ziploc bag with the sixty-five dollars and ninety-three cents that she’d been saving and handed it to her.

“When did you get this?” she asked, as she slid the money into her coat pocket.

“When you told your mom that you were finishing your homework, but you were really looking up the symptoms for the Ebola virus,” he said, sounding amused.

“I have a geometry test,” she said, regretting her choice of blush for the mystery “rash” that she’d been hoping would get her out of going to school.

“That’s what I figured,” he murmured, already lost in his book.

“Do you want me to bring you to school so you don’t miss your test?” Uncle Trevor asked, making her frown.

“Why would I want that?” she asked, blinking at the man that really should have known better.

Chuckling, he kept driving. “Did you eat breakfast?”

“I was too busy faking a fatal illness to eat breakfast,” she said, sighing because she really could have gone for one of her mother’s coffee rolls this morning.

“That is time consuming,” he said, chuckling as he pulled into Dixon’s Bakery.

“It really is,” she agreed on a sigh as she waited for him to park the truck so that she could climb out, accidentally elbowing her best friend in the process and headed for the front door, happily humming along the way.

“Brat,” Sebastian said, reaching past her to open the door for her.

“Thank you,” she said with a sniffle as she walked past him and-

“Think nothing of it,” he said, stealing her baseball cap off her head and putting it on as he strolled past her and joined the long line of customers waiting to get their hands on one of Dixon’s famous baked goods.

Rolling her ball between her hands, she joined him in line, waited until Uncle Trevor was distracted by the large tray of sticky buns being brought out, raised her foot, brought it down on Sebastian’s foot, and plucked her hat off his head when he bent over with a gasp of pain to check his foot. Making sure to appear innocent, she returned her attention to her favorite uncle since she was no longer speaking to her Uncle Eric since he’d been responsible for pointing out that her “rash” had rubbed off on her shirt.

“So, what did you need me for?” she asked, rolling her ball between her hands only to pause when she caught the murderous glare on her best friend’s face and decided that it would probably be for the best if she shifted closer to Uncle Trevor for safety.

“I need help picking out Zoe’s gift,” he said, reaching over to fix her hat and twin braids.

“What’s wrong with him?” she asked, jerking a thumb in Sebastian’s direction.

“We wanted a girl’s opinion,” Uncle Trevor said as they moved up in line.

Blinking, she looked up at him and said, “You know I’m a tomboy, right?”

Chuckling, he said, “I think I picked up on that.”

“Why didn’t you bring Jessica?” she asked, again not that she was upset that she was missing school, but she was curious.

“She can’t keep a secret,” Sebastian said, which Mikey had to admit was true.

“Okay, so what are we getting Aunt Zoe for Christmas?” she asked, only to be met with matching blank stares.

“You have no ideas, do you?” she asked, having a bad feeling about this.

“None whatsoever.”

Fire & Brimstone Excerpt

So, I'm writing Aidan's book and I need a little information about Melanie and decided to go through Fire & Brimstone again to fill in the blanks.

Five minutes in and I forgot what I was supposed to do. I came across this part and I was dying of laughter. I miss Rebecca and Lucifer :(

Fire & Brimstone (Neighbor from Hell, #8) by R.L. Mathewson

“Maybe we could do this some other time?” she suggested somewhat hysterically as she tried to dig her heals in and stop Lucifer from dragging her inside to face his family.

“You’ve already met them,” he said, clearly not understanding her current moral dilemma.

“Yeah, so then I don’t need to come tonight,” she said, trying to push his hand off hers so that she could turn around and make a run for it.

“And pass up a chance to help my father torment me?” he said dryly, making her pause, because there was that…

God, she loved tormenting him.

Giving herself a mental shake, she renewed her efforts to break free, but the large bastard kept walking, taking her with him.

“I have things to do!” she said, giving up on trying to fight it and decided to try reasoning with him.

“Like?” he asked in a tone that said it all.

The bastard didn’t think that she had a life!

How dare he?

“I have a lot of stuff to do!”

“Like what?” he asked, throwing her a knowing look that was just not appreciated!

“Like stuff. Now would you let me go?” she demanded, absolutely refusing to go inside and-

“Like what?” he asked teasingly as he stopped walking so that he could interrogate her on his parent’s walkway.

“If you must know, I had a very busy night planned,” she snapped, yanking her arm free so that she could cross her arms over her chest as she explained exactly how busy she was.

“A romantic night by the television with Mojo drooling everywhere?” he teased, causing her eyes to narrow.
“No, I had plans to attend an orgy tonight and thanks to you, I’m going to be late,” she said with a huff as she turned around, giving him her back and started to walk away.

“Well,” he said with a sigh as he easily caught up to her and took her hand so that he could lead her back to the front door, “I’m afraid that they’re going to have to get along without you.”

“That might be difficult,” she said with a groan as she found herself once again being led towards the house.

“And why’s that?”

“Because I was the only woman attending,” she said, loving the way he chuckled.

“Yeah, that might make things difficult,” he said with that smile that did funny things to her.

“I was also supposed to bring the lube,” she admitted with a forlorn sigh.

“Ouch,” he said, shooting her a wink.

“Are you going to let me go?” she asked, feeling hopeful.

“Not a chance,” he said, making her shoulders sag as he continued leading her to the front stairs and to what promised to be a really uncomfortable evening.

“Does it not matter to you that I don’t want to go?” she asked even as she tried to resign herself to a night of hiding in the bathroom and avoiding making eye contact.

“No, but it does piss me off,” he said, sighing when they reached the front door.

“Which is why I’ll be waiting in the car,” she said brightly, hoping that he’d go for it.

“Nice try,” he said, using his hold on her hand to bring her closer so that he could kiss her.

Desperate, and realizing that she was seconds away from being forced to go inside and face his mother, who probably knew about the pregnancy test and the knowledge that she’d been having her way with her son, Rebecca did what she had to do.

“I’m sorry!” she said, wincing as she picked up her foot, slammed it down on his instep and took off running the second that he let go.

“Forgive me!” she yelled over her shoulder as she ran as fast as her legs would take her, praying that she’d managed to hobble him for as long as it would take her to make it to Main Street and flag down a taxi.

News about Price Change and Audible

Dear Reader,

I'd like to start off by saying thank you to everyone who has stuck with me for the past few years. You've helped me a great deal by leaving reviews, telling others about the Bradford men, Pytes, and all the disturbing books that I manage to put out :) I honestly couldn't ask for better readers. You guys are beyond awesome :)

Which brings me to why I am here tonight. As I've told you over the years, I have kept the prices of the books low so that they can stay affordable for everyone. As a mom of two special needs children, I know the importance of staying on a budget and needing an escape into a good book. So, I've done my best to keep the books priced between 99 cents and 2.99. I've been able to do this since 2012 and I would really like to continue doing that, but between taxes, royalty charges to publish, new taxes being imposed from other countries on each sale, I can't keep the books priced like this any longer and be able to continue writing the disturbing stories that I like to put out.

The suggested price to set the books is $4.99, but I can't in good conscience do that right now. I still want to keep the books at a fair price for everyone and leave them affordable. So, I am going to slowly turn the prices of the books to 3.99 for regular books. The NFH honeymoons will stay where they are at 99 cents. The same for the Chronicle collection. The box sets will reflect the changed prices with a discount.

To make up for the change, I am going to set Tall, Dark & Lonely and Playing for Keeps back to free for a while.

Within the next few weeks the NFH books will be changed from $2.99 to $3.99 and the Pyte books will move up to $2.99 and then eventually $3.99 as well. All new releases will be set at $3.99. I will do a pre-order of $2.99 as a thank you to the readers and then the price will switch to $3.99 once the pre-sale is over.

For those readers out there that cannot afford the price change, I will have a limited amount of coupons to reduce the price from Smashwords. Those readers will be given an opportunity to contact me for the coupon code without worry.

Other than that, the only other information I have is on the Audible books. They are doing their best to start the process. When I find out when the books are all set to go I will let everyone know. The Honeymoon from Hell series and all the books that haven't been made into audible will be completed.

Thank you very much for your time,

R.L.

New Year's Resolution: Part 5

The content in this Chronicle and on this website is intended for adults, 18 years and older.

New Year’s Resolution
The Crash
An R.L. Mathewson Chronicle

“I’m sorry, what?” Zoe asked, blinking hard as she looked up at the child talking to her and frowned, because she couldn’t for the life of her recall his name.

“Mom?” the boy said, watching her with keen interest as he handed her the only thing that would save her at this moment.

“Oh, thank god,” she mumbled reverently as she cupped the precious elixir from the gods.

“Can I get you anything else, mother?” the boy asked with a devious little smile that meant something, but she couldn’t quite figure out what that something was.

Everything was so fuzzy. It was hard to focus on anything for and then a few seconds before she…

What was she thinking about?

God, she was so tired.

All she wanted to do was to curl up under the table and go to sleep. Was she supposed to be this tired? she tried to remember as she took a healthy sip of the hot elixir that she would save her from this oblivion. Her precious coffee would make everything right so that she could…umm, she could…

She took another sip as she frowned up the handsome man that was now standing over her and looking extremely pleased. Sipping her coffee, she allowed her gaze to look their fill. So very handsome, she thought, reaching out to pet the muscles lovingly outlined by his tee shirt.

“So pretty,” she mumbled, taking a sip of hot coffee as she continued to lovingly pet the pretty muscles.
The handsome man’s lips twitched as he looked down. “Are you done?”

“No,” she answered with a sigh even as she lean back in her chair and shifted to the side so that she could get a good look at his backside.

There was a heavy sigh and a muttered curse, but she barely heard him as she nodded approvingly at the finely developed backside while she continued sipping the coffee that was failing her. Sighing, she stopped petting his pretty, pretty abs and moved her hand to pet his pretty, pretty-

“I think it’s time to call it a night,” the man with the pretty, pretty muscles and backside said, chuckling as she suddenly found her coffee plucked cleanly from her hands.

Before she could ask the pretty, pretty man where her coffee was she found her world turned upside down and herself eye level with that glorious bottom. So, of course she grabbed it with both hands and gave it a good squeeze. It was so firm and she’d bet a pot of her delicious coffee that it would make a great pillow. Before that thought finished in her head she found herself closing her eyes, her arms wrapped around him, and-

“Here we are,” she heard when she suddenly found herself horizontal, but she didn’t want to be here. She had so many things to do.

She had no idea what those things were, but she knew that there was so much that she needed to be done.
“Coffee,” she said, although it sounded like “moffee” to her ears.

“You want more coffee, sweetheart?” that sweet, understanding man whispered as she felt his lips brush against her ear.

She grumbled her answer, knowing that this sweet man understood her needs. He was so sweet….so sweet and pretty…pretty and sweet…

“Can I tell you something, Zoe?” he asked in sensual whisper as those lips continued to tease her ear.
Another grumble.

“I had the boys switch your coffee to decaf yesterday,” the voice came out as a purr as she felt something tug at her pants.

She tried to focus on what he was saying, but she couldn’t make sense of his words, but she knew immediately that decaf was a bad word, a very bad word. She demanded to know what he was talking about, but he only chuckled as she felt her shirt being pulled over her head.

“You precious elixir, the one that kept you going for the past few weeks? Is gone,” he said, right around the time that she realized that so was her bra.

She opened her eyes, or at least she tried to, but since they were so happy staying closed she was forced to allow it and grumbled something that even she couldn’t make out at this point as she felt her panties being pulled free from her legs.

“I bet you’re wondering what I’m doing, hmm,” the sexy voice that she liked so much said softly as she felt something large and soft being pulled over her head and down to her knees.

“Well,” he drawled as something comfortable and warm was pulled up to her chin, “I’ve decided to take it upon myself to drain your battery before you drive us all out of our fucking minds.”

Well, that didn’t sound nice, but she was too tired to say anything about it. But, later! Later, she would do something about this betrayal! She would-

She would make this right!

She would!

But for right now she was going to…

She was going to…

“Go to sleep, sweetheart,” the voice that gave her all the warm fuzzies said, sending her into sweet oblivion where she dreamed of the incredibly hot man with the pretty, pretty bottom serving her coffee.
Delicious, fully-caffeinated coffee.

New Year's Resolution: Part 4

The content in this Chronicle and on this website is intended for adults, 18 years and older.

New Year’s Resolution
Part IV
An R.L. Mathewson Chronicle

“No!” Sebastian snarled in a rushed whisper as he struggled to pull the linen closet door shut as he shot a panicked look past Trevor’s shoulder.

“Open. The. Door,” Trevor said evenly to his son as he kept his hand on the closet door to stop it from closing.

“Dad, please!” he whispered as the rest of the children cowered behind him, squeezing themselves into that small closet while Trevor stood there, shaking his head and sighing heavily as he reluctantly released his hold on the door and allowed his son to shut the door.

“It’s not that bad,” he lied to the closed door as he rubbed his hands roughly down his face, wondering how things had gone so bad so fast.

One day his wife was the sweetest woman alive and the next…

“We should go skiing!” his wife said with an excited squeal as she disappeared back into the twin’s bedroom with another gallon of paint.

“Please save us,” he heard his baby girl whisper from behind the closed closet door.

“Shhhh, she’ll hear you!” Mathew whispered in a rush, making Trevor shake his head in disgust as he turned his attention from the small closet where his children had been hiding since Zoe had decided that the kids’ rooms could really use mosaics.

It didn’t matter that Zoe didn’t know how to paint or that the only paint they had in the garage was primer and the leftover light grey paint that he’d used last summer to paint the basement, she was determined to make it happen. It also didn’t seem to matter that it was barely three in the morning, the kids, well most of the kids, had school in the morning and he had work, she was determined to do this.

Deciding that it was pointless in trying to talk the kids out of the closet, he focused on his smiling wife who was currently trying to push the boys’ bunk bed through the door.

“What are you doing?” he asked even though he already knew the answer.

She was losing her goddamn mind and taking him down with her.

“Painting!” she said excitedly with that sweet smile that he loved so much, but was now frightening him a bit.

“Painting,” he repeated with a nod as he looked past her to see that half the wall was now covered with primer and the other half was now light grey.

“I figured the boys could use a change,” she said with that damn smile and a nod as she gave up on trying to push the bed through the small door so that she could admire her artwork. “Isn’t it great?”

“Yeah, great,” he said absently as he rubbed the back of his neck, still trying to figure out what had gone wrong with his wife.

One minute she’d been a sweet, rational smart ass that drove him out of his damn mind and the next…

“Oh, you know what would be great?” she asked excitedly as she climbed through the bottom bunk to reach him.

“Getting some sleep?” he suggested dryly as he helped her to her feet, which only managed to make the little caffeine addict laugh.

“No, detailing the car!” she gushed as she released his hand and headed towards the stairs, making him wonder how much longer it would be before she crashed.

Then again, he thought as his gaze returned to that closed closet door, maybe he wouldn’t have to wait…

Survival

From the 2016 R.L Mathewson Chronicle Collection

Release Date: February 14, 2017

The 2016 R.L. Mathewson Chronicles by R.L. Mathewson

“Make sure that you tell the kids how much I love them,” Jason said, pausing to cough weakly as he pulled the covers up to his chin.

“Jason, I-”

“And I know that after I die that you’ll eventually want to start dating again and even consider getting married again,” he said, cutting her off with an accusatory glare as though she was already considering it, “but ignore those feelings and continue mourning me until your dying day.”

At this point Haley really had to fight the urge to roll her eyes, because this was just getting pathetic.

“And make sure that they bury me somewhere with decent shade. I don’t want my gravestone to fade,” he said and this time, she did roll her eyes.

“Jason,” she said, sighing his name heavily with annoyance, because she was really sick of having this conversation, “you have a cold.”

“You don’t know that!” he snapped in outrage. “I could have a very rare strain of the flu for all you know!”
Praying for patience, she pushed her glasses back up her nose. “You have a cold,” she once again reminded him.

“Your uncle said that you should feel better in a day or two.”

“He’s a fucking quack!” Jason, the biggest pain in the ass when he was sick, said in outrage.

“Jason-”

“Are you going to get a pen and paper so that you can write down my last wishes?” he demanded…again.

“No, no I’m not,” she said, feeling a headache coming on.

“You betraying bitch!” he gasped, which normally would have earned him her fists of fury, but God help her, he was just too pathetic to get mad at right now.

“You’re going to live,” she told him as she placed the glass of ginger ale and plate of pizza that he’d demanded on the nightstand next to him.

“You don’t know that!”

“Yes, you’re right. You’re going to die,” she said dryly, too exhausted to argue with him anymore.

“Oh my God! What the hell is wrong with you?” he demanded in outrage, shocked as though he hadn’t been professing that he was dying for the last four days.

“Cause I’m a cold hearted bitch,” Haley said with a sigh, hoping to get a chance to go back downstairs and lay down for a bit.

He didn’t respond as he picked up the glass of ginger ale, but he did glare until he realized that she hadn’t followed his orders to the letter. “Where’s my straw?”

“Do you really need one?” she asked, sounding exhausted even to her own ears, but then again she was running a fever of a hundred and two so that was probably to be expected.

“Yes! How else do you expect me to recover?” he asked, placing the glass back down with a huff.

“Jason, your fever is gone. You have a sight cough so I think it’s a safe bet to say that you’re going to make it,” she said with a sniffle while she headed for the door, praying that she made it to the couch before she passed out.

“It’s the calm before the storm, baby! My fever will be back with a vengeance!” he said as she walked out of the room and headed downstairs, shaking her head and wondering how a simple cold could turn a grown man into such a baby.

“Aren’t you going to profess your undying love for me just in case I don’t make it?” he yelled as she made it to the couch just in time as her head spun, turning her legs into Jell-O and dropping her on her ass, which thankfully landed on the soft couch.

Once her butt hit the couch, she simply gave in to the exhaustion, laid down on her side and curled up, cursing herself out silently for not grabbing some Advil and a glass of ginger ale for herself before she laid down.

“You’ll miss me!” the pain in the ass that she loved more than anything declared loudly, turning her almost headache into a full-fledged migraine.

A few minutes later when she was blessedly starting to doze off, he yelled, “You’ve left me to die like this?

Without a straw or some ice cream to settle my stomach after I eat my pizza? I thought you loved me!”

Sighing, she turned over onto her side and decided that next time the big baby got sick, she was dropping his ass off with his parents. Then again, the last time that she’d tried that, which had been four days ago, they’d simply dragged him back here and left him on her doorstep, whining and bitching that nobody loved him.

“Does no one care that I’m dying?” he demanded as she rolled over onto her other side, trying to ignore the pain in her head and deciding that once she could walk without feeling like she was going to pass out that she was going to go upstairs and smother the large bastard with a pillow.

New Year's Resolution: Part 2r

Perfection (Neighbor from Hell, #2) by R.L. Mathewson

The content in this Chronicle and on this website is intended for adults, 18 years and older.

New Year’s Resolution
Part II
An R.L. Mathewson Chronicle

“Thank fucking god,” Trevor grumbled as he fell face first onto the mattress, too weak to do anything else as his body trembled with exhaustion from the last six hours that he’d spent trying to distract his wife from her asinine plan.

It had taken everything that he had, but it was worth it, he told himself as he lay there, struggling to catch his breath. By now going on a diet was the last thing on her mind.

At least, it damn well better be!

He’d used his best moves as well as some that he’d come up with in the heat of the moment, convinced that he’d finally found a way to make his wife give up this nonsense about losing weight. She was perfect just the way she was and she damn well better figure that out. Those were his fucking curves to worship and there was no way in hell that he was going to let her take them away from him.

He loved how soft and warm she was, how she felt against him when he held her and how it felt when he sank between her legs and slid his cock inside her, wet, hot, tight sheath. He loved watching her as he slid inside her, making her lick her lips as her very generous breasts jiggled enticingly. He-

Groaned, as he was forced to use what was left of his energy as the exhausted appendage in question gave a valiant twitch, willing to give it another go while the rest of his body screamed in protest. At least he’d exhausted Zoe, he told himself as he closed his eyes, exhaled and prepared to fall into a coma, or die from exhaustion, he really didn’t care which right now. All he cared about was-

“That was great, sweetie,” Zoe announced brightly as she kissed his cheek and gave his ass a little pet that had him groaning in misery.

He opened his mouth to ask why she wasn’t passed out, but he couldn’t seem to find the energy to get the words out. As he was forced to lie there, grumbling into his pillow, he heard her flitting about the room, opening drawers, walking into the bathroom, and taking a quick shower while he tried to tell himself that he wasn’t getting old.

The lie comforted him as he lay there on the verge of falling into a deep sleep while his wife, who shouldn’t be able to move never mind hum badly as she moved about the room, plopped down on the bed next to him.

“What are you doing?” he tried to ask, but it only came out as another grumble.

“I think I’m gonna go for a run!” his wife, who should be passed out on the bed beside him, announced, sounding too damn chipper.

He opened his mouth to grumble in response, but apparently he’d used up the last of his energy with the last grumble and could only manage to get out a pained groan as Zoe, who had to be on something, gave his cheek another quick kiss and headed for the door, humming as she went and letting him know that he was going to have to come up with another way to stop her.

New Year's Resolution: Part 1

The content in this Chronicle and on this website is intended for adults, 18 years and older.

New Years Resolution 2017
Part I
An R.L. Mathewson Chronicle

“That’s it,” Zoe said, shaking her head, more determined than she’d ever been before. “I’m going on a diet.”

“No,” Trevor said as he walked past her, barely pausing as he gave her bottom an affection pat as he made his way to the shower.

She worried her bottom lip as she stared down at the proof that she’d overdone it in 2016. She had no idea how she’d gained ten pounds since the last time she’d stepped on this scale, but she was damn well going to get it off before Valentine’s Day.

That was it.

She was done playing games.

It was time to get serious, which meant that she was going to have to go all the way this time. She was going to cut out sugar, soda, carbs and start eating plain yogurt, vegetables by the truckload, moss, algae, whatever it took to get this weight off. She was joining the gym tomorrow. That was it.

Except that it wasn’t.

In a few weeks it would be tax season and she had her hands full with the boys homeschooling, errands, playing taxi for the kids in the afternoon, cooking dinner at night, cleaning, and by the time she got the kids to bed and could spend some time with her husband she was exhausted.

Crap.

No, she had this.

She just had to figure out a way to get around the fact that she didn’t have time to go to the gym. She’d take walks, use yoga videos, whatever she had to do to get this weight off. She was determined to do this and this time, she wouldn’t put the weight back on. She didn’t care what she had to do.

“You’re not going on a diet,” Trevor announced with a look of warning that she chose to ignore. “I’m serious.”

“I really am,” she said with a heartfelt sigh as she had a moment of silence for all the donuts, fries, chocolate bars, and late night pizzas that she would never again enjoy. It would have been a heartbreaking moment if not for the terrifying number on the scale staring back at her.

“No,” Trevor said as he reached over and wrapped one wet hand around her wrist and pulled her towards him, “you’re not.”

“I really am,” she muttered as she allowed her incredibly hot husband to pull her inside the shower.

As soon as he had her in his arms he wrapped his arms around her, leaned down and brushed his lips against hers.

“No, you’re not.”

Deciding that this wasn’t the time to argue with him, she allowed him to back her up against the wall and have his dirty way with her, but even as he turned her around and did, umm, stuff to her, she silently vowed to see this diet through.

Fire & Brimstone Release

Fire & Brimstone (Neighbor from Hell, #8) by R.L. Mathewson What happens when a Bradford with questionable OCD, a temper and a reputation for making his employees cry falls for the woman that refuses to accept the fact that he’s fired her and was terrifyingly more of a Bradford than he was?

Well, we can’t share that here, because it would be seriously inappropriate, but we’re sure that you can see where this is leading…

To the altar or a stint in the slammer, either one is possible when it comes to the Neighbor from Hell Series.

Author’s Note: This book along with the rest of the series is intended to make you smile, let you relax and forget the drama and stress that plagues our lives even if its just for a little while. This is a drama free book. My goal is to put a smile on your face and I hope this book does that.

Excerpt from Fire & Brimstone:

“What the hell are you doing?” she asked, going completely still as she told herself that she was imagining this.

“Is it helping?” he demanded instead of explaining why he’d thought that it was a good idea to climb in bed with her and spoon her, wrapping his arms tightly around her and pulling her closer.

“It’s definitely creeping me out!” she snapped, because she couldn’t tell him that it was actually helping her and that some of the pain was subsiding.

“That didn’t answer my questions,” he said, adjusting his hold around her and making the pain bearable.

It didn’t go away, but at least she didn’t feel like she was seconds away from screaming in agony anymore.

When she didn’t answer him, because she stubbornly refused to admit that anything he did was helping, he started to pull his hand away. “I guess if it isn’t helping…” he said, letting his words trail off as he continued to pull his hand away.

Glaring at the wall and hating him for toying with her like this, she grabbed his arm and yanked it back in place. “It’s helping! Are you happy?”

“Overjoyed,” he said with a chuckle that she refused to find pleasing as he wrapped his arms back around her and held her close.

Two Excerpts

An Excerpt from Christmas from Hell:

Don’t puke, don’t puke, don’t puke, don’t-

“Let’s see what kind of damage we have here?” Duncan, the man that filled her thoughts more than he probably wanted to, said with a bored sigh as he gently placed her on the bed and gently grasped her arm to move it to the side, but she wasn’t ready to see the extent of the damage yet.

She wasn’t ready to find out if she still had a boob or if it was-

“Oh, fuck me,” Duncan said, sounding very un-Duncan like and taking her terror up another notch, which of course inadvertently forced her to open her eyes so that she could see the extent of the damage to her boob herself so that she could make the decision to try and save the boob or if it was for the best to just have the boob completely removed. Judging by the stinging pain down the side of her boob, she realized that the choice may no longer be hers.

Swallowing hard, and really doing her best not to lose her dinner or pass out, she forced herself to look up at Duncan and nearly lost it when she saw him openly cringe at whatever it was that he was looking at, bringing her anxiety up another notch and making her realize just how badly she didn’t want to lose her boob.

She’d never been vain, or had much of a reason to be, but she liked her boobs.

There.

She’d admitted it.

She actually cared if she lost a boob, especially because she’d stupidly lost her footing on a patch of ice all because she was too busy making sure that the man staring intently at the mangled remains of her breast, wasn’t outside where she could make another unforgettable memory to add the list of horrors that she’d put him through over the past year. Only this time she was going to lose a boob because of it.

Swallowing hard as she told herself to stop being a baby and face this thing head on, she stared at his handsome face for a few more seconds before she shifted her attention to her torn sweatshirt, the tee-shirt beneath it and the remains of her favorite gray sports bra and sighed with relief.

Her boob was still intact.

Thank God.

An Excerpt From the First Shifter Novel of the Pyte/Sentinel Series:

She felt like hell.

“My poor face!” the little annoying bastard whined from the bathroom where he was probably still staring in the mirror, crying over the little cut she’d given him.

She snorted as she licked her muzzle and shifted her head to the side so that she was using her large paws as a pillow as she sighed, ignoring the cries of pain coming from the bathroom and focused her attention on the man sitting on the large leather chair, glaring at her.

God, what she wouldn’t give to be able to flip him off, but if she wanted to do that she would have to shift back to human and she really just didn’t feel like doing that right now. Besides, the moment that she shifted back she’d most likely get sick and that really wasn’t enough of an incentive to make her want to shift. Then of course was the fact that if she shifted back to human, the asshole who’d saved her life and marked her would expect her to talk, thank him for saving her life, but again, she really wasn’t in the mood to grovel to the bastard so in werewolf form, she stayed.

“Shift back,” the bossy bastard demanded with a bored sigh as he continued to scowl at her, but since she just wasn’t in the mood to deal with this right now. So, instead she simply sighed again, closed her eyes and settled in for a nap.

“This isn’t part of our deal, Kara,” Drew said, interrupting what promised to be a very nice nap.

“Oh, God! My face!” came another pathetic cry for attention that they both simply ignored.

“Kara, I’m not fucking kidding. Shift. Back. Now,” he bit out, sounding incredibly pissed.

Not that she cared, because she really didn’t.

He could sit there, whine, bitch and yell at her all day and she wouldn’t care. She just wanted to lie here and feel bad for herself for a little while until she was forced to shift back and deal with the nightmare that was her life.

Maybe she should go to the country now while the Pack was in the city and find a cave or something where she could hide out for the next thirty or forty years or until she came up with a better plan. Since that was unlikely, she was probably looking at a lifetime of catching fish with her mouth and hunting down the occasional deer when the opportunity presented itself.

Then again, since she was planning on feeling sorry for herself for at least the first decade, she probably would just live off fish for a while or whatever happened to craw inside her cave. Maybe by the time that she was ready to reemerge and rejoin civilization again everyone that wanted her dead would be long gone.

It was possible, she thought with a groan as she shifted onto her side. Every twenty years or so, they were forced to move before humans started asking questions and pointing out the fact that they weren’t aging. It would bring unnecessary attention that their kind didn’t need and put them all at risk.

They’d be gone, assuming new lives somewhere and she could reclaim her old one, or at the very least she could create a better life than this one. It was something to look forward to, she told herself with a depressed little sigh as she licked her chops and settled in for a nice long nap.

“Someone get me a god damn plastic surgeon before this heals!” the big baby that somehow made Beta cried hysterically, making roll her eyes with a groan as she rolled back over, praying the whining would stop so that she could get some sleep.

“Fucking baby,” Drew murmured, and for once they were in complete agreement about something.
