National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

Today is National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and I hope all the sacrifices of our military men and women are always remembered and appreciated.
I wasn't alive during Pearl Harbor, but I was alive when the Challenger space shuttle exploded and when 9/11 happened. It's strange a little how where you were that day and what you were doing become unforgettable core memories.

Christmas Shopping---How Are You Doing?

I started Christmas shopping in late September because I have a large family and didn't want to break the family budget by buying everything in December. By Black Friday I was done with all my major purchases and I was feeling pretty proud of myself! Now I can relax in December, I said.

But December came, and now whenever I'm out running errands and I see a cute little gift I think, oh I should get that for so and so! Or one of my kids mentions something they wished they'd put on their list and I think, oh maybe I should try to grab that! So while I'm "done" I'm sort of not done. I mean, maybe Christmas shopping is like editing a book. For me, I really could go on editing for weeks and months and maybe even years. I finally just have to tell myself to stop. And from the looks of things, I really could go on Christmas shopping for weeks and months. It's probably time to just tell myself to stop, haha.

Are you ever like that? Adding little gifts here and there even though you're "done?"

My Holiday TBR List

With all the cold weather, and the holidays fast approaching, I've been trying to narrow down my top four holiday books to read in the next few weeks. Here's what I came up with!

Which is Your Favorite?

The weather has turned cold and snowy where I live and I'm breaking out my favorite holiday treats.
So, tell me, which one of these would you rather have this holiday season? I'm torn, because they are all good, but I think I'd have to go with hot chocolate. What about you?

Black Friday is Here!

I have my list ready and I am going virtual Black Friday shopping! I was never really one to go to the brick and mortar stores early in the morning (do people still do that?), but I do like the online deals. This year I am looking for some very specific items, (which makes it easier, I think) but I'm also open to some impulse purchases for Christmas. I'm hoping to wrap up the last of my Christmas shopping today!

I was babysitting one of my grandkids today and I swear I only turned my back for a few seconds! But I couldn't be upset because he was SO proud that he'd poured his own cereal. LOL! Memories made at grandma's house.
