He let his guard down for a second. And now it’s going to cost him.

The most wanted terrorist in the world has finally been captured and Elliot Burke is escorting him to an undisclosed location---until their plane is hijacked.

Elliot's mission quickly becomes staying alive until Griffin Force can find him. Landing in Syria, he's faced with a new threat---someone who wants to take over the terrorist organization Elliot has spent years trying to dismantle. In the middle of the most dangerous operation of his life, he meets a mysterious woman named Eden who seems familiar to him somehow. He instinctively trusts her, but soon realizes he shouldn't have. She has her own agenda, one that doesn't include him.

The situation turns deadly, however, and Eden and Elliot must work together to stop a devastating escalation to the war on terror---one that could tip the balance of power in the wrong direction. An unexpected flare of attraction burns bright between them, and battling enemy forces side by side fans the flame, but lives are on the line and sacrifices must be made. Can they both survive what’s ahead?

Monday Morning Book Report

I started Ranee Clark's historical romance, A Lady's Promise, over the weekend. It's definitely got a different twist to it with a sort-of love triangle and a heroine who is so kind and sweet. I'm enjoying it so far!

What did you read over the weekend?

Here's the back copy:
Dr. Jasher Hotchkiss, first rate knee surgeon, never wanted to return to his hometown of Mendon. Not after what happened years ago that made him the town’s most hated teenager. Nor did he want to practice general surgery.

And he certainly doesn’t want to form any ties in Mendon.

Except … Sage Everton appears at an ambulance call. Sage?

Nurse-anesthetist Sage Everton is widowed and is convinced she carries a hex that ruins the lives of men she begins to care about. The last person she’d curse is a surgeon the small town hospital desperately needs.

Years ago, Sage and Jasher shared a first searing-hot kiss. Neither ever forgot it. That long-lost chemistry reignites in the operating room, whether they want it to or not.

Sharing a second kiss could wreck both their plans. Or create new plans for them both—together.

What's Your Favorite Romance?

Valentine's Day is next week and some of us will be staying in, curled up with chocolate and a good book.
So I was wondering, do you have a favorite romance that you've read more than once? There truly are so many for me, but I do love Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson and The Kiss of a Stranger by Sarah Eden.
Do you have favorite romances that you re-read?

What Are You Reading Wednesday!

I just started Becky Monson's romantic comedy, The Wedding Jinx. So far it is super cute! Mila's best friend is getting married, but Mila is convinced that she jinxes weddings, so she tells her friend she can't go. And she's also in love with her boss, who is the best man at this wedding, so another reason to stay away, right? Only she can't. And this is setting off a whole chain of events that promises to make me laugh and swoon.

What are you reading this week?

My Meridian Article is Live!

My Meridian book review is live! In this issue I reviewed Cry Wolf by Kathi Oram Peterson and A Not-So-Distant Love by Heidi Kimball. Both books you can fall for!

In Cry Wolf you'll find a romantic suspense has some similarities to the movie, The Fugitive. When Dania comes home to find her husband is dead and a masked man missing some fingers is the killer. The fingerless man gets away, however, and Dania is convicted of her husband’s murder. During a prison transfer, Dania escapes and is determined to clear her name. Her husband’s best friend, U.S. Marshal Brett Rollins, is tasked with hunting down Dania and he’s drawn into a web of secrecy and lies that surrounds Dania’s case. But can Brett help Dania track down a killer before they’re both caught?

This action-packed suspense is like sledding—plenty of bumps along the way as you are speeding down a hill and going faster by the moment.

In A Not-So-Distant Love, Lady Charlotte Darrington’s path is set as she will one day inherit her father’s Scottish dukedom, but she wants to experience more of life before she settles down. Her cousin has made plans to go to America, and Charlotte gets permission to go with him. When they arrive in Pittsburgh, Charlotte is introduced to Dr. Alec Galloway, who is brusque and distant to her from their very first meeting. But Charlotte and Alec are thrown together when Charlotte’s chaperone takes ill and they start to see each other in a different light. Charlotte soon discovers why Alec has isolated himself from those who love him and she’s determined to help him find happiness again. But will she find happiness with him, too? This emotional romance was full of tender moments, but also plenty of laugh out loud scenes, including some that feature a pig!

You can see my full review and what I thought of both books HERE

The Preorder is LIVE!

The preorder for Second Guess is LIVE! I am SO excited.
Eden and Elliot are on the most dangerous mission of their lives--but some unexpected feelings are swirling around them. Here's a little teaser:

"He stopped and touched her forearm. The warmth of his hand on her skin went right to her core, and her breath caught. She looked up at him and he leaned down until they were nearly eye-level. “Well, I did one thing right. I followed you out of that room. It helps to know the right people.”
His eyes seemed to turn darker as he spoke, a blue as dark as the twilight sky. An energy she’d never felt before arced between them. What was it about this man?"

*le sigh* I love them.
