I’d never heard of him so I googled, and the interesting thing is that he kind of looks like Irene Koh’s version of Mal

ellejauffret:

My culinary version of “Malenchki” (meaning “little ghosts” - SHADOW AND BONE by Leigh Bardugo): sweet dumplings served with the last of summer peaches that were stolen by mud-faced little ghosts

1 1/2 cup of flour

2 teaspoons of baking powder

1 teaspoon of salt

1 cup of milk

cinnamon

granulated sugar

Whisk all the dry ingredients together first and add the milk slowly, whisking continuously until the dough is soft and smooth.

Fill a wide pan with water and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Bring to boil. Then lower heat in order to keep the water simmering. Drop batter in liquid (about 10 spoonfuls of batter at a time well spaced apart). Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes. Remove dumplings (they will be swollen by now) and let cool down.

Place a few on a plate, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, add a few slices/dice of peach, and serve.

Um. YUM.

I hope the Darkling has a sexy name, and not something horrendous like Boris, or Humphrey. LOL PS, can you give us a little hint, like the first letter of his first name, pls? :)

*looks around all shifty like*

A hint, you say?

The Darkling’s name…

….

….

is not Doug.

That’s all you’re getting.

*capers away*

would it be terrible of me to imagine the darkling having fuzzy felt-horned stag slippers to go with his pajamas

I’m more intrigued by the fact that you think the Darkling wears pajamas. Hotchacha!

» Edited to say… now I’m finding the idea of him in flannel jammies totally adorable. Y’know, chilling with the Inferni, making s’mores. “Who wants to play Apples to Apples?”

The frontespiece illustration for the Shadowhunter’s Codex, by Rebecca Guay, featuring the TMi characters. This thing is actually a huge oil painting in real life. This book is going to be so pretty! (Wait till you see Charles Vess’ illustration of the Infernal Devices characters…)
