Do you still work as a make-up artist or are you writing full-time now? :D

I will occasionally do work for a private client (and I always like to help out friends), but I’m writing full time now. (And I always love to talk product!) At some point, I’ll have to disassemble my kit, but I feel weirdly sentimental about it.

Umm hey, one of my friends is a huge fan of yours and i'm trying to do something specal for her Christmas present, I'v bought her a singed copy of you book already and I was woundering if you would be willing to send her a singed bookmark or something? if

First of all, thanks for going to the trouble to get a signed copy for your friend.

Here’s the thing: I wish I could send swag to everyone who requests (seriously, let the world be papered in S&B swag!), but that would require a lot of trips to the post office and quite a bit of expense.

But there are options!

1. You can send a SASE to the mailing address on my web site and I will send along a signed bookplate or bookmark. (But it won’t get there by Christmas.)

2. You can send a request to lastleigh at gmail.com and my agency will respond. (Again, prolly not before Christmas.)

3. OR… you can purchase posters from Marissa Mukavetz (only $10 and in time for the holidays) or bookmarks or jewelry from Hebel Design (not sure if Vivi is still taking holiday orders). To be clear, I don’t make any money off of these sales, but you’re supporting awesome artists AND a percentage of every sale at Hebel Design goes to Reading is Fundamental.

Again, many thanks to you and your friend

Mala! I realy liked drawing her. For my shadow and bone fanfic i’m working on.

God I need to work on hands!!!!

SO BEAUTIFUL. And she’s rocking a kokoshnik. Is it weird to say I’m sad I can’t read Grisha fanfic? But I can’t. Because it will get in my head. Maybe after the trilogy is finished? Still, the fact that it exists makes me really happy.

Shadow & Bone up for Best Debut - VOTE and there will be treats!

Shadow & Bone up for Best Debut - VOTE and there will be treats! :

Shadow and Bone is up for best debut of 2012 on Hypable!

The ballot is looooong and I’m not above a little bribery, so if S&B wins, I’ll give away an advanced reader copy of SIEGE AND STORM.

(Naturally, I voted for Legend of Korra for best new show. And I’ve never played Assassin’s Creed III, but I voted for it because Connor Kenway.)

Better a nicely shorn Ivan than the whackadoo hair SW sported in Wrath of the Titans.

UNACCEPTABLE.

i really have no idea what this has to do with survival skills

Actually she has identifying which plants and berries are poisonous. She was quizzing herself. It’s foreshadowing because she later dies from eating poisonous berries; in the book, it’s seen as a foolish mistake, but because of this scene, it has implications of suicide.

Like this idea, but I think it’s pretty clear that she’s matching the shapes. (Same symbol appears twice she, taps them, they disappear. Happens twice, with two different symbols.) No indication that she’s identifying poisonous plants. Seems like it’s more of a mental exercise, maybe testing recognition and reaction time.

Wow. I really don’t want to work on this draft.

Excuse me Ms. Bardugo, but would Ivan happen to be bald?

What a very specific question. No, Ivan is described as having wavy brown hair. But he might go all Britney on us and shave it off in a fit of pique.
