Hi Leigh! So since we're both Game Of Thrones fans I've been wondering, who are your favorite characters?

In no particular order… Jaime, Brienne, Arya, Littlefinger. And Dolorous Edd is always good for a laugh ;)

I’ll admit that when I read the series, with each new book, I’d read the Arya chapters first, then go back and read the whole work. Heresy!

I think you mentioned the first 5 chapters would be out early for S&S. Is that still the case?

I believe so. Not sure when they go live, but I’ll blab all over the place when they do.

This really is not a question but i wanted to tell you that my teacher set up a day where each table had a bunch of random books on them and everyone had to write down a book we either really wanted to read or didn't on out paper, and Shadow & Bone was on

Okay, this is fascinating. I love Le Guin, but haven’t read her since I was a kid. Still… I can tell you that it didn’t start out as a sparrowhawk nest. It was originally a cor bird (something I made up) and my editor asked me to change it to a known species. (Totally legit since the other fauna in the world are—with very rare exception—existing creatures.) I fretted over a bunch of choices, but sparrowhawk won out. Maybe because of Earthsea resonances?

Yes! I’ll be touring in June and hope to have dates and locations to announce soon. Not sure if we’ll be making Midwestern stops, but fingers crossed.
