A manip of Alina and the Darkling for Leigh’s birthday today. Happy birthday Leigh!
(I went into this project thinking about Siege and Storm and came out with thrones and palaces and landscape, lmao.)
I happen to love thrones, palaces, and landscape. How fortuitous!
Thanks for the birthday wishes

okay, I feel like a prat reblogging this because omg, MY FACE IS EVERYWHERE. but thank you for the very sweet birthday wishes
(and dude, my hair looks goood in that bottom middle pic)
I love your book sooo much. I've having such a hard time waiting for the sequel, but conveniently, June 4th is only four days away from my birthday. I heard that Novyi Zem was based on the American colonies. Is that true? And what are the orange flowers
Happy early birthday! I’m sorry for the wait, but very glad you’re looking forward to Siege and Storm
Okay, questions…
1. Novyi Zem was mostly inspired by the American colonies and Australia, but there are a few other influences in there as well.
2. The orange flowers (alemanth or waysu) are used in the manufacture of the stimulant jurda, one of Novyi Zem’s chief exports.
3. “Do you blame me for every mistake I made? For every girl I tumbled? For every dumb thing I’ve said?”
(No, he isn’t.)
Will we be able to read Mal's letter on your FB page or website or somewhere else? I already have S&B on hardcover but does that mean I would have to buy it on paperback to read the extra content?? :O
As far as I know, Mal’s letter will only be available in the paperback.
HOWEVER…
1. Don’t tell my publisher I said this, but you could just pop into a bookstore and read the bonus content there. (And then perhaps buy an extra copy for your dearest friend or a penpal in Boise or that nice fellow at the coffee shop.)
2. Right now, there are two separate giveaways running for the Shadow and Bone paperback on
PubCrawlBlog (where you can win additional exclusive bonus content)
and
YA Bibliophile (where you can also win Shadow and Bone swag)
I hope that helps a bit?

I’m trying to make a point to my friend who is also my artist on this comic I’m writing. He doesn’t believe girls really read comics. I’m going to prove him wrong! So help me and reblog this across tumblr!
