Leighleighleigh, I entered the PubCrawlBlog giveaway thinking it was international, but then I realised too late that it wasn't :'( I'm so sorry, do you know if there's any way I can withdraw my entry/ redeem myself/ not be an idiot? I know this is a long-

Deep breaths! No worries at all. If the Rafflecopter selects an ineligible contestant, we’ll just have it pick another entry. Not a problem at all.

I’m sorry we can’t run more international giveaways but the shipping gets crazy expensive. But hopefully we’ll have a few more in the future!

shae is a whole new direction (i dont think she was even sansa’s handmaid but its been 2 years) but i LOVE what they’re doing with her and the tyrells are SO GREAT.

Blarg. I can’t remember either. I’ve started fantasizing about a reread.

I think they’re positioning everyone for maximum emotional payoff so I’m looking forward to having my heart torn in two.

I love how they actually developed some of the minor characters like shae and jane and margaery in the show, when in the books they were hardly there. So excited that you’re into GoT as well!!

Dang it. I misspelled Margaery’s name. I will fix. I think the changes to Jane’s character are really smart. I am LOVING Margaery so much more than I expected to. She is playing the Game to win and the writers are being so smart about the way they’re developing the Cersei/Joffrey/Margaery dynamic.

Last night's episode of GoT

I’m up to my ears in work, but I just need to take a moment to talk about last night’s episode.

I’m always reblogging and fangirling over GoT, makin’ sigils, talking about the unfair slandering of Sansa, but for all the squeeing, I forget how much I truly love these books and last night’s episode was such an incredible reminder.

Seeing the Brotherhood on screen. Amazing.

The duel between Brienne (BRIENNE!!) and Jaimie (JAIMIE!!)… and then oh lawd, knowing what’s coming. I do have a little bone to pick with that duel, but I cannot be bothered to quibble at this time. It doesn’t matter. I was a mess. (Also, I’ve been on that bridge!! I got to moderate a  panel with some GoT cast members last summer at TitanCon in Belfast and we visited a bunch of locations the next day.)

Really pleased with the Jojen casting. Also interested to see the way both Margaery’s and Shae’s characters are being developed. I was worried that Margaery might get short shrift, but it isn’t shaping up that way at all. Shae… I didn’t remember her having this concern for Sansa in the books, but maybe I’m forgetting? It’s been a while, but it felt a little arbitrary to me on the screen.

Anyway, when it was all over, I basically just sat there, wibbling and freaking out while my friends laughed at me.

Bliss.
