I’m not sure who put this on a Grisha Trilogy mix, but I grabbed it before I traveled and HOLY WHAT THE WOW FULL ON CHILLS.
Edited to say ‘twas shadowslament what done it! Now I must find a way to make her live in my head and be my dj.
Edited again to add that whenever I reblog a mix, I try to tag it #fanmix, #playlist, or #music so you should be able to find some of them in the archive. Unfortunately, I sometimes forget and kick myself for it later.

Here are all 9 pieces from my first thesis project!
At the beginning of the semester, I read folktales from around the world and sought out interesting imagery and characters to develop into 9 full page illustrations. As I made each illustration, I did a ton of research into the clothing, symbols, patterns, and other related imagery from the each story’s culture.
I am fascinated by old stories and how they have been passed down and shaped future stories. I learned a lot from this project, but I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface! There is so much more to these unique cultures, and I’ll continue to draw inspiration from them.
For each individually, and some process sketches see the links below:
The Fisherman and the Gruagach of Tricks (Ireland)
The Giant Who Had no Heart In His Body (Norway)
The Firebird and the Horse of Power (Russia)
Sinbad and the Seven Voyages (Middle East)
Hats to Disappear With (Korea)
The Search for the Magic Lake ( Ecuador)
Oni and the Great Bird (West Africa, Yoruba Tribe)
All are available as prints on my inprnt!
Thank you everyone for your support over the past year! Here’s to a great 2014!

I’d wanted so badly to belong somewhere, anywhere. I’d been so...

I’d wanted so badly to belong somewhere, anywhere. I’d been so eager to please him, so proud to keep his secrets. But I’d never bothered to question what he might really want, what his true motives might be. I’d been too busy imagining myself by his side, the savior of Ravka, most treasured, most desired, like some kind of queen. I’d made it so easy for him. You are I are going to change the world. Just wait.
Put on your pretty clothes and wait for the next kiss, the next kind word. Wait for the stag. Wait for the collar. Wait to be made into a murderer and a slave.
I wasn’t going to make it easy for him anymore.
Thank you for making this
Ok, that graphic up top is kind of THE BEST.

Hi Leigh, hope you are doing great. Love your books! So I have 2 questions because I'm nosy. 1. We all love the Darkling, as you know. Who are your fictional fancy men? 2. If you could bring the world of any book to life, which one would it be? (Mine would
Thank you!
1. I think it’s fair to say that not everyone loves the Darkling. But as for my fictional crushes… they’re rare. I’m going to go with
Lymond from Dorothy Dunnett’s Lymond Chronicles
Sean Kendrick from Maggie’s Stiefvater’s The Scorpio Races
Raistlin from the Dragonlance books by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman (though that was when I was 13 and who knows if that crush would hold up on reread)
and yeah, Jaime Lannister although I think I prefer to love him from afar
2. Hogwarts and Ingary.
3. My typical day usually involves a lot of revenge, some howling, and a nap in the sun.
