November Update

Hello lovely readers!

I am working through the edits for Blood of the Whirlwind (The Shifter Chronicles 16), and I still hope to release it in January 2024. You'll be the first to know if I need to push it off another month. I am very proud of this book (it was a tough one), and I hope to share the blurb with you soon! Still have to commission the cover art as well, so stay tuned for all those goodies.

Work on the latest The Stones of Power book is going steady. I'm happy for the federal holidays coming up, which gives me extra days to be a writing hermit. If I haven't mentioned it before, this one is Opal: Master and Puppet. I only have four books left, and I'm struggling not to get ahead of myself. I am excited but also sad to wrap up Morgorth and Aishe's story. They've been with me since 2012, and while the ending will be triumphant, it will be bittersweet to me.

On the marketing front, I'm slowly looking into avenues for 1) better exposure and 2) earning more royalties. I see many authors direct selling their books, and I want to do something like that. That is the best way to support your favorite writers. It cuts out the middleman and your money will go to the person who created the gorgeous story gracing your eyeballs. And considering the shenanigans that Amazon/KDP/KU is playing at, it's also better for authors' mental health (and wallet) to find other avenues for selling their books. I am now on BookBub, and they have wonderful marketing tips that I'm going to try and implement. I'm also going to look into IngramSparks for wide distribution of my paperbacks/hardcovers. You might one day find my books in libraries and bookstores! I know I'll scream and take a selfie should that day come. (And I don't take selfies. Ever.)

While that is a lot more money out of pocket for me, I hope it will pay off in the long run. This won't be a fast or easy transition but I'm taking it step-by-step, and hoping to do it "right" the first time so I don't have to clean up a mess. Wish me luck!

I also plan to again participate in Smashwords' December sale so if you want deeply discounted or FREE books, make sure to look for my December newsletter with all the details.

I will also be removing the books I have in KU. They will still be on Amazon but no longer enrolled. These are back titles that never received much attention anyway - Trash and Treasures, Night Guardians, A Giant's Friend, and Guardians of a Giants Treasure 3-story collection. They'll still be available for purchase at $.99.

I also wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who buy my books, take the time to review, or tell your friends about them. I hope my stories delight you, give you an escape from the harshness of life, and leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling. At the very least, I hope you just have a good time, and my words put a smile on your face.

Long overdue updates

Hello lovely readers!
Sorry I haven't updated in a bit. Been really busy, and when I send out my monthly newsletter, I don't always remember this blog option.

The most recent book in my The Shifter Chronicles was released in January - "Crimson Purity." It's available at AMZ and Smashwords. I have recently finished the first draft in the next shifters book, so that's on schedule for a January 2024 release.

I am working on the edits for "Jade" First and Last," the next The Stones of Power book. That is due out this summer.

AND I just submitted another book to my editor, one that is the first book in a duology. It is a fantasy mmf with two dragons and the woman thief who stole from them... but they love her anyway.

The next book on the release schedule is an ace fantasy romance, involving a sweet man, Elias, and the orc that falls in love with him. It is "A Priest, a Plague, and a Prophecy," and is a single title. It's probably the sweetest book I've written to date. More details on that to come!

I'm striving to release 3-4 books a year, which should help me whip through the current series filling my cue. I have so many projects clambering for attention, but if I plan on finishing any of them, I need to stick with the ones currently in process.

New releases and sales!

Hey everyone,
At long last, the next book in Saga of the Bold People will be released October 25th. You can preorder "Resistance" from Amazon and Smashwords.

Also, to celebrate Halloween, I've set two of my shifter books as FREE at Smashwords. "Blind Devotion" and its Halloween sequel, "Ghosts of Halloween Past," will be free until November 1st. If you haven't checked out that series, you can have a taste with zero risk!

Working on the next book in The Stones of Power series, "Jade: First and Last." I should also be starting a single title any day now... when I find time. :)

New Shifter Chronicles book!

The new Shifter Chronicles book, "Red Sun" is due out in January 2022. I'm so proud of this new addition to the series, and it's probably the sweetest romance I've written thus far. It includes an ace character, an unusual wolf shifter, and some familiar faces from previous books. Up for preorder at Amazon and Smashwords now!

I'm also going to dive headfirst into "Resistance," which is the third book The Saga of the Bold People (sequel to "Leopold" and "Legacy.") Hope to have that one out around October 2022.

**Also** Just finished book 8 of The Stones of Power series--"Sapphire: Home and Abroad."

I'm attempting to write about 3-4 books a year and focusing on wrapping up my current ongoing series. I have some major projects I want to start, and I can't until I've shifted a few things off my plate.

The Shifter Chronicles series update

Wow! It's been a while since my last update.... Just a reminder: If you don't want to miss out on the latest news, please sign up for my monthly newsletter at www.mdgrimmwrites.com.

The Shifter Chronicles is getting a complete rebrand. I have spent the last two months chugging through revisions, updates, and expansions, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results! The first three books, especially, got significant facelifts that I hope address some of the lingering issues that occur when a new author (me) doesn't know what they're doing (it was 2011, after all). I like to think I've grown as an author since then...

So, starting in April 2021 and continuing until November 2021, all my previous Shifter books will become available in their second editions. I will then continue the series with a brand new book in 2022. That's the plan, anyway.

All of the books are available for preorder from Amazon and Smashwords. I will also make them available in print, just because. I want my pretties on my bookshelf so I can feel accomplished, lol.

LEGACY preview!!

To celebrate my upcoming October 2020 release of "Legacy (Saga of the Bold People #2)," I am posting sections from the prologue each of the following month. The prologue is from Mastrodai's POV and covers certain critical events from "Leopold." His POV will continue into the body of the book but I thought it would be interesting to get his perspective on things that, until now, were only from Leopold's POV.

Changes and upcoming releases

Good day everyone,

I have requested the rights back from DSP for all the books I have published with them. That includes The Shifter Chronicles, On Wings saga, and Eye of the Beholder.

Please do not purchase these books. I will be revising and republishing them starting in 2021.

I am nearly done with the sequel to "Leopold" - called "Legacy" and plan to release in October 2020. I also have an m/m fantasy trilogy that should (hopefully) be released late summer 2020.

New releases!

Wow! It's been a long while since I posted a blog here. Sorry!

So much news!

I have a newsletter now - visit my website to join - www.mdgrimmwrites.com - Every month I send out updates so you're never behind in the news!

My stand-alone vampire m/m romance was released in February and it's getting a lot of good reviews.

The 13th book of The Shifter Chronicle - Wisdom's Allegiance - was released in April. It's my first m/m/m and I'm very pleased with it.

On Wings of Passion, prequel to On Wings of Thunder, is now available for purchase.

And I have another release (phew!) in August - the 7th book of my The Stones of Power series, Lapis Lazuli: Forgotten and Remembered. I'll be blog hopping for two weeks to promote it! It's exhausting to write all those posts!

And I'm working toward one more release - the second book in my Saga of the Bold People. But I value quality over quantity so if it's not to my standards the book might be released in 2020. We shall see.

New series!

Hello everyone!
Because I never do anything the easy way, I'm starting yet *another* series! But this one has been in the works for years and the first book has been in my WIP folder for around 8 years!!

Leopold (Saga of the Bold People #1) will be available at Amazon and Smashwords on October 9th 2018. I am so excited and anxious! He is truly my baby and I really hope readers like him. :)

Here's the blurb:

At least, that’s what Leopold thought when he became an assassin for the elite. Pretending to be an alien known as Voidstriker, Leopold feeds his appetite for vengeance, killing aliens as well as taking their money. It's a win-win to his mind. That is, until a bounty is placed upon his head.

With his true identity now revealed to the IG Community, Leopold knows it's only a matter of time before the powerful family members of his victims come for blood. Far worse is the fact that the one who put the bounty on his head, is the one he most fears.

A routine job three cycles ago brought him face-to-face with Mastrodai, a prince of the powerful Mrrog Nation. Not only did Leopold—accidentally—destroy part of Mastrodai’s moon, but one glimpse of the mighty alien had him feeling desire for the first time in his life. He ran, and like predator after prey, Mastrodai never stopped hunting him.

I have 6 books total planned for this series. I'll be taking my time with those since I'll be diving into pretty heavy stuff and want to aim for quality, not quantity.

For those who love my other series, don't worry! I'm still working on "The Stones of Power" and "The Shifters."

For fans of "On Wings of Thunder" I also must got the prequel contracted. So look for "On Wings of Passion" next year! This will end up being a 4-book saga...
