Story for the Day: Character Player

There are those who are happy to be depicted in games and there are those who are not. Alasdair is falls in the latter category:
“Well, I’m glad to see your game is undisturbed,” said Alasdair, approaching the table. “Rautu is trundling about the keep, taking every pair of dice he can find and giving them to Khaasta to play with.”
The commander glanced over the table, perlustrating every hand, every resource, every d...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>

Story for the Day: Mercenaries and Marinas - Part 2

While Alasdair loves playing games with his children, he loathes playing anything with dice. And there I must agree with him.

I admit that I’m surprised that you would play this game,” said Alasdair. “Having lived through some of the greatest sea adventures, I would have thought that something like this would be unexciting for you.”
“It never could be that, I’m sure,”  said Danaco, with unanswerabl...

The Haanta Series challenges YOU to the #ALSicebucketchallenge!

We were challenged to do the ALS ice bucket challenge by reader, friend, and fellow author Dan Wright! We don't have the facilities to do the challenge, but we certainly can donate! Donations were made to the ALSA and to the CCS to honour the challenge-- but wait! Why is everyone pouring ice water over their heads? ALS is a debilitating and agonizing disease, and by pouring ice water over our bodies, we are trying to simulate what it would be like to feel the anguish and the immobility of som...

Story for the Day: Love Interrupted

There is no love so amusing as love interrupted. Breigh Donnegal, born third in the Donnegal family, is Master Dairyman at the famous Royal Glaoustre Dairy, and naturally when he is in town, everyone and their mother should like to pay their addresses to the king's servant. Addresses, however kindly meant, given at the wrong time can ruin a most magical moment.

Story for the Day: The Glaoustre Dairy Bakery

Glaoustre, a small municipality in the south of Frewyn, is known for its superior dairy production, so much so that everything in the main town belongs to the famous Royal Dairy and its adjoining abbey, but the pride of Glaoustre is perhaps the famed Glaoustre Dairy Bakery, which boasts of producing hundreds of different baked goods, every single one of them containing dairy in some way. Everything therein from the head baker to the cream cheese cupcakes are well-known and impossible to resis...
