A long story for #RemembranceDay: A Flower for Rolande - Part 1
Remembrance Day is a time to honour those who have fallen. While we in this realm honour our veterans with the poppy, Marridon honours those who gave their lives with the red pimpernel, their national flower. Jaina honours her brother Rolande on this day

Twisk's Pumpkin for Seamhair
In ancient times, when the peoples of the Two Continents noggled about in huts and caves, hunting and gathering each day, spending their evenings hurpled around fires in a postpradial sloom, an image pervaded their davering pernocations, an image that would sleep quietly in the back of their minds and emerge hundreds of years later. Art was created around the image, and everywhere along the sea coasts, where swaffing waves met languid shores, the great image was etched in caves and on cliff f...

#NaNoWriMo 2015 begins on #Patreon

November 1st marks many things.
In Frewyn, it is the first unofficial day of winter.
It is also the Day of the Dead, and the day on which many of us begin our recovery from the intense sugar consumption still mantling over us from the day before.
It is also the day that the much maligned Daylight Savings Time ends, and we all return to a dreary and drab would of sunsets at 4pm.
It is also the beginning of National Novel Writing Month, dotingly known to many writers as NaNoWriMo, for those who ca...

Story for Seamhair: The Ruvani Mating Dance
It's Seamhair in Frewyn, the holiday on which we honour the dead, eat more candy than is good for us, and dress up to confuse wayward spirits, but while Lucentia does not have a Seamhair equivalent, Danaco takes any opportunity to disguise himself. Bartleby, who never bothers to dress up for anything, is always mistaken for a goblin. It is not all of us who are so fortunate to grow old gracefully.

Story for the Day: Wait to be Seated
There is proper etiquette in all things, and while some civilities might be foregone in times of desperation, not waiting to be seated at an eatery when a sign bars one's way might have dire consequences.

Thirty years -- Great Scott!
Never has a trilogy of films been so inspirational. Having seen all three films at least ten thousand times over the last three decades, and having grown up with Doc Brown and Marty McFly being personal heroes (for someone who is still a shrieking eight year old on the inside), I cannot tell you how monstrously thrilled I am that October 21st, 2015 has finally arrived. Of course we don't have flying cars and hoverboards in regular use yet, but we are working toward...
