The Academy is LIVE!
The Academy has just been released as an audio book! Jack has narrated it again, and has done an awesome job with it! He told me he counted SEVENTY-TWO voices in it. I had no idea there were that many speaking parts!
If you you have not yet had a chance to pick up The Enemy of an Enemy on audiobook yet, you are in luck! Amazon has enabled WhisperSnyc for it, which means you can get the audiobook for just $1.99! All you have to do is buy the free ebook from Amazon (assuming you do not already own it) and then you can get the audiobook as a WhisperSync add on for just $1.99. It is that easy!
Of course, if you are on my mailing list – you already know about this release and you know how to get it FREE. So you might want to sign up for the mailing list. If you do, drop me an email letting me know and I will tell you how to get The Academy for free.
Please spread the word! Thanks!

Cover Reveal and Audio News!
Hey everyone I have news!
First, I want to let everyone know that the audio book for The Academy is complete! I have approved the final chapters, sent all the necessary payments, and pressed all the required buttons. The book is off to Amazon’s quality control department and should be ready for sale in the next two weeks. Make sure you are on my email list in the coming days as I will be giving away copies of the audiobook!
Also, I wanted to share the cover for Sac’a’rith: Rebirth. I have placed it in a frame with the first book in this sub-series, and added a little hint of things to come.

The Sac’a’rith Series
Please let me know what you think of it. For the first time since the original (and long gone) cover of Enemy this cover features my personal artwork. Raquel, the moon in the sky, and some of the space background is my personal art work. The alien looking ground that Raquel is standing on is actually a photograph from a long time friend who lives in the western USA. As alien as it looks in this scene, it actually is a real location on the west coast of America.
Yoly at Cormar Covers, our normal cover artist, did the typography, reworked the sky, and in general made it look like a professional book cover.
Editing on the book itself is going well, and I suspect in the next three weeks or so I will be looking for pre-readers so make sure you are on my mailing list!
Also – do not forget the DEAD TREE EDITION sale is still going on.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Holidays to all Lost Tales readers! May your days be full of blessings and joy for the rest of your sojourn through this life!

State Of The Tales – 11/01/2014
It has been a while since I have done a State Of The Tales kind of post, so it is time for one! There are some little news bites for my readers so grab a cup of coffee from Vydor’s bar and read on! I even have a new release to mention!
The Telepath Chronicles
will release on November 7th! It is already up for pre-order! It features a bunch of great stories around the concept of telepathy by some of my friends among the author community. It also has my first super hero style story, The Null. I had a lot of fun writing that story; it was a nice break from my normal books and refreshing. I may write more of that in the future, time will tell.
I have THREE copies of the ebook to give away if you want one. The deal is you have to promise to post an honest review in exchange. First three commenters on this post get it. Just make sure I have an email address for you that actually works. If I cannot reach you by email I will pass you over and go to the next person.
Now, over in the audiobook world, I failed to woo Amazon in to paying for the production of The Academy. That is not surprising, at all, but I figured it was worth a shot. However, I have worked an out a deal with Jack to narrate Academy and he plans to start on it in mid to late November. He is currently on another project and needs to complete that before starting ours. This means that Academy might, just might, make it for a Christmas release, but if not, then shortly after.
Volume VII: The Sac’a’rith: Rebirth is around eighty percent written. I hope to have the first draft completed by Thanksgiving, which would put a release likely in mid January to early February. I had hoped to have it out much sooner than that, but taking on the audiobook of Enemy and some other life events prevented that.
I have also started Volume VIII: Silverleaf, which will be a new story arch with new characters, and open up a new realm. It actually started as a subplot of Rebirth (much the same way Sac’a’rith started as a subplot of Gambit), but it is too fun of a story to be a subplot so it will get its own day in the sun.
Finally I have one other release to mention. There will be a collection of 101 short stories called, Stories On The Go, released sometime before the end of the year. That collection will feature a story about Dusty and Spectra called Rage. It was a minor plot line that I cut from the beginning of Gambit for length and reformatted to work in that collection. In addition there will be 100 other stories in that collection from 100 other authors covering all styles, genres and levels of fame. It will be free, so definitely worth checking out when it is ready.
In closing, do not forget to sign up for my email list! Everyone that does gets access to my slowly growing library for free stories and eventually will have other exclusive items in it.

Webcam – Part 4
Originally Released on September 18th, 2005
Believe it or not, the idea for this one came from the many posts I have seen where people do not have a laptop or any computer they can bring out to the telescope and yet want to use a webcam. I have also seen many ads for webcams that do not mention the need for a laptop, so I imagine many people have to find out the hard way, just like our friend Robby does.

Review: The Merkiaari Wars by Mark E. Cooper
The Merkiaari Wars is a military science fiction series by Mark E. Cooper. It centers on humanities war for survival against the Merkiaari. For a change of pace I have been listening to the audiobook version instead of reading it making this my first official audiobook review and recommendation.
The series starts out as a group of explorers come across a new alien race called the Shan. Book one follows the team as they do their best not to blunder first contact and recover from the blunders they made along the way. Later books cover the on going relationship with the Shan, and the new Merkiaari war (as evident in the title).
I am currently most of the way through book two and have heard by mistake several hours of book three. I can say that the story is very enjoyable and is a good mix of action and character development. Mr. Cooper gives enough backstory to give you the sense that the characters are real people with out distracting from the primary plot line. The story has good depth and is easy to sit back and just listen.
Jj, the narrator, did a marvelous job reading. His diction is clear, and his range of voices is more than sufficient to cover the cast of characters. I was thrown a bit off when he read “beep beep” and other sound effects instead of using special effects, but those are so few and far between that it does not detract from the story at all.
The books do have a scattering of curses through them, and at least one fade to black love scene. There are some adult conversations about relationships and sex and there is plenty of violence with some gore (it is a war story at its core). As such I would recommend this only to mature readers (listeners?).
Over all this has been a fun listen and I plan to read (hear?) the whole series.

The Enemy of an Enemy is live on Audible!
It is live! The Enemy of an Enemy as an audio book was just released! I will keep this post very brief. The audio book is live and needs reviews! Please if you can grab a copy and leave a review, it would be a great help! I will not have free copies to give out for at least a week, but after that I will be able to give out a limited number of copies for review. Again, if you can, the sooner the audiobook gets reviews the better.
That being said, here is the direct link to the book on Audible:

Thanks for all your support! I could not have gotten this far with out all of you!
