July 2016 – State of the Series
It has been a while since I have said much, so I figure it is time for another state of the series kind of post. Though since I have two series out now, maybe that should be “states of the series”? Is there even a plural form for that? Either way here we go!
First, the new series, The Dragonmasters, is off to a stellar start. The vast majority of the feedback I have received has been extremely positive. It seem that Silverleaf and Kaylissa are worming their way in to peoples hearts already. I am slightly ahead of schedule on production with the books so all the proposed release dates look good. Right now those on my Advance Review list have a copy of Episode 3: The Hunters and they are enjoying it as much as the others.
Which brings me to my second point. With the release of Dragonmasters I have started a special list of readers. These readers cannot only get every book I write for free, but they get them around two weeks before release. All I ask in exchange is an honest review posted to Amazon on release day or close to it. This option is open for both series. Send me an email, a private message on Facebook, or contact me in some other way if you are interested. I have limited slots open so hurry if you want in.
The Lost Tales of Power series is getting a major facelift. Four of the covers are completely replaced, and three have been touched up to match the new ones. The covers are live on Amazon, and I am working on updating the rest of the stores this weekend. The paper backs will be the last ones I do because they are the ymost annoying to update and 95% or better of my sales are ebooks so I doubt anyone will even notice them having the old covers.
Here are the new covers:
In 2016 I hope to release Volume VIII of the Lost Tales of Power and Season Two of Dragonmasters. I have not yet decided which book will be the eighth one in Lost Tales yet, but I am leaning towards a third Sac’a’rith book.
Season Two of Dragonmasters I have already started and I plan it to be somewhat like The Academy. It will have a little less action than Season One, but more character growth and more information about the world. Some of which is coming directly out of questions I have gotten from readers.
So that is all the news that is fit to type this morning. Thank you for being the best group of readers ever, and please continue to spread the word about these books.

The Beginning of the End of Barnes and Noble.
Hey everyone! Just a fast post here to let you know that it looks like the days are limited for the Nook. Barnes and Noble is shutting down all its international offices and killing off all non-USA ebook sales. Barnes and Noble’s American sales have been falling through the floor over the past few years, so it is probably not far behind.
Anyone who bought a copy of any of my books for their Nook and are losing it as part the collapse of Barnes and Noble, I will replace them. Just forward me your recite for your purchase, and I will send you a new copy in standard EPUB or Kindle format so you can move them to your replacement ereader

Review: UAG Scout Folio Case
About a month ago, a company I never heard of contacted me and asked if I would like one of their cases to review. After checking to make sure they were not from Nigeria, I accepted their offer. Urban Armor Gear (UAG) offered to let me review any case on their site, so I decide to put them to the real test. I asked for a case for my 11 year old son’s iPad Mini 3. They agreed and sent me their Scout Folio case.
I received the case on Monday June 1st, and I am writing this review on Wednesday July 8th. My son has used his iPad everyday during this review period and it has travel with us to several states. He has dropped it, tossed it, and overall treated it like any 11-year-old boy would. Over all the case has preformed remarkably well. The only wear and tear I can find on it is some minor scuffmarks. The iPad itself is undamaged and for that my wallet is exceedingly grateful.
I have only two complaints with the case. The first is there is no protection for the glass screen of the iPad. The case does have a lip that should prevent the glass from directly contacting any smooth surfaces, but I personally do not trust that drops will not happen over gravel or other non-smooth surfaces. To compensate for this weakness I added a Tech Armor Ultra Clear Ballistic Glass screen protector for it. This screen protector combined with the UAG case is the perfect combination.
The only other complaint I have is that I wish the case was waterproof. The webpage claims it is water resistant, but I would definitely disagree with that. The case does not in any way that I can see increase the water resistance of the iPad over how it ships from Apple. That is to say, keep it away from water at all times.
If you are not looking for a waterproof option, the Scout Folio is a great case. It does not add very much in bulk, but can handle the drops and slips of life like a champ.

The Wanderer is live on Amazon!
Episode One, of Season One, of The Dragon Masters is live! As of this post it already has 23 reviews, and a 4.75 average rating! I am very much touched by the outpouring of love for this book. It is no doubt the most successful launch I have done to date.
Episode One of The Silverleaf Chronicles follows the life of Silverleaf, a dragonmaster who was born into a world without dragons, and doomed to die as a madman alone in the wilderness until a young woman enters his life, and a mysterious army marches across the land destroying all in its path.
The Silverleaf Chronicles is the first season in The Dragon Masters and is made up of seven episodes, each around 70 pages in length. Season Two right now is tentatively called The Elwyn Chronicles, and I hope to have it out early in 2016.
In other news, if you have not picked up a copy of The Dragon Chronicles, it is currently on sale for 99 cents. Now would be a great time to pick it up! Episode Zero of The Silverleaf Chronicles is included in the Anthology and that is currently the only place you can get it.

Dragon Chronicles hits number one!
Time for another random update on the various going ons here! First I am sure many of you notice the new look! Well, Google, the all powerful master of search, passed new rules regarding how sites appear in their index, so I had to update the site to comply. Instead of stopping there, I went ahead and redid a lot. Hopefully the new site is faster, cleaner, easier to read, and all around better. If not, just be patient, I will probably update it again in another four or five years.
I also wanted everyone to know that The Academy is now available in hardcover! You can drop by my printer and buy a copy direct for 40% off the cover price, or you can wait to buy it on Amazon, for full price. It is your call, but I suggest you take advantage of the 40% off.
I am also now making the hardcovers available for those of you that like signed copies. Just click on the button on the right hand side of this page that says “Signed Copies” to be taken to the storefront where you can order them.
Progress on Silverleaf is going well! I expect to send it to pre-readers in the next two weeks. If you are on my mailing list you should have already received the email with the invite to pre-read. If you have not, please check your spam or promotions folders.
Finally, I wanted to thank everyone that helped with the launch of The Dragon Chronicles! It was a massive success. For a while we held the NUMBER ONE position on the Amazon Hot New Releases list! If you have not picked up your copy yet, please do! It includes my story, The Storymaster, which is the prequel to Silverleaf (or would have been a prequel if Silverleaf was not late, ops.)
Thanks again, and please spread the word about my novels!

Dragons are coming!
Hey everyone – I know have been quiet lately, but that is because I am trying to get Silverleaf ready for pre-readers. It is coming along well, but we had some real life events that bogged us down over the last few months (not bad ones, but still ate up time!). To that end I want to remind everyone that April 30th is the release date for The Dragon Chronicles! This anthology contains the prequel to Silverleaf know as, “The Storymaster.” You will want to get it for that story alone, but I am sure the others in it are great also. I have just started reading it myself, but I have no doubt it will be a great collection!
There will be a big Facebook party where all the authors will be hosting give-a-ways and answering questions. I will be hosting at 9 PM EST, and my wife Kristi will likely join for a bit too. So come one, come all!
I have a very limited selection of advanced review copies of Dragon that I can give away. I can only give you a copy if you can promise and follow through with your promise to post a review on release day or before. Reviews matter at the launch of a new book, so we really need you to follow through with an honest review.
Please contact me if you think you can actually follow through and do this for us. Thanks!

Update on Silverleaf and Enemy of an Enemy
Hey every one!
I wanted to update everyone on where Silverleaf is in its process of getting ready and share some news about the Lost Tales series all at once!
First Silverleaf is now in its first round of editing. It is about a quarter of the way done. There will be two or three rounds of editing total before it goes out to pre-readers. This means all of you that want to pre-read should make sure you are on my mailing list and that my news letters are not going to your spam folder. My primary means of finding pre-readers is through that mailing list, so get on it now while you still can.
I am still hoping for a June release, but it really is not looking good right now. I will know more once we get the book to the pre-readers and on our editor’s calendar.
Second, I can now officially announce that Enemy of an Enemy is available in hardcover complete with dust jacket! It has been professionally formatted and looks beautiful. It will be another six to eight weeks before it hits Amazon and the other bookstores but you can get it today direct from our printer. It is much cheaper (forty percent cheaper actually) if you go direct, so I highly suggest you do that. Here are some pictures:
I am planning right now to release every book in hard cover over the next year. I am shooting for one every six to eight weeks due to the amount of time and effort involved. We will see how it goes!
Do not forget The Dragon Chronicles will be coming out in mid-April and we will have a big Facebook Launch Party for it with free gifts, and time for everyone to chat with all the various authors in the anthology. Dragon will contain the prequel to The Silverleaf Chronicles so you will want to grab copy ahead of the release of Silverleaf.
