Miss Puerto Rico Suspended For Anti-Muslim Rant

Miss Puerto Rico 2015, Destiny Velez, has found herself in some very hot water after posting a wave of anti-Muslim tweets; besides having to face a strong public backlash, she has been suspended indefinitely by the Miss Puerto Rico Organization.

The apparent catalyst for Ms. Velez���s social media messages was the initiation of a campaign last week by filmmaker and outspoken hyper-liberal Michael Moore in support of Muslims. Specifically, Moore was seeking to have people everywhere make signs reading ���We are all Muslim,��� and then post photographs of themselves holding those signs throughout the social media universe.

A screen grab of Velez���s tweets captured by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution revealed several anti-Muslim messages posted to her Twitter account, including: ���Muslims use our constitution to terrorize USA & plant gas stations,��� ���Islamic god is NOT the same God of the Christians & the Jews,��� and ���all what Muslims have done is provided oil & terrorize this country & many others!!!!!!���

As soon as the tweets gained traction throughout cyberspace, the unsurprising reaction ensued, and Velez is now without a Twitter page and perhaps without her title, although that remains to be seen. She has also since apologized.

For their part, the Miss Puerto Rico Organization issued a statement that read, in part, ���Miss Velez's actions were in contradiction to the organization, and therefore as a consequence of her actions, she has been suspended indefinitely. The Miss Puerto Rico Organization will not tolerate any actions or behavior contrary to the Miss Puerto Rico Organization.���

Prepping is a funny thing; most people will admit that it is a good idea, when you discuss with them all of the scenarios in which being prepared makes sense, but then so few will actually go out and engage in even the most basic preparations in order to withstand distressed conditions.

Iowa Man Turns Tables on Panhandlers Who Refused His Offer of Employment

How many times have you looked at an apparently-healthy person panhandling and wondered why he or she was not at work somewhere? A bunch of times, I would safely wager.

What���s more, I���ll bet even a few among us, who pass those unfortunate-looking souls holding ���Will Work for Food��� signs, have thought, ���I wonder what would happen if I actually told this person I have work for him (or her)?��� Well, one gentleman (basically) did that very thing.

A man presently identified only as ���Mike��� appears in a now-viral photo wherein he is clearly ���shaming��� a couple of panhandlers who refused his offer of work.

According to the nephew of ���Mike,��� his uncle saw the two holding up signs that read ���Broke and Hungry,��� and approached them with an offer of employment. When they refused the offer, ���Mike��� swung into action, warning other passersby who might be inclined to take pity on the beggars that they did not seem that interested in helping themselves; he did it by making his own sign and standing next to the pair ��� his sign read: ���Offered these guys a job. They said no. Don���t give money.���

So, what do you think about what ���Mike��� did? I���ll say this, for my part: I recently moved from a Central Florida community that is beginning to have a noticeable problem with panhandlers. It���s not why I moved, but the truth is that, in some areas of the town, the panhandlers were becoming rather aggressive. One thing that struck me is how many of the panhandlers in my community looked to be both young and able-bodied. Anyone who is truly familiar with me knows that I am hardly an unsympathetic person, but, like most folks, I don���t have an endless well of sympathetic feelings from which to draw. For me, there are already countless numbers of worthy folks who are genuinely good candidates for sympathy and charity, but, speaking honestly, I do not consider young, healthy people���especially young, healthy males���to be among them.

Surrogate Says ���No��� to Parents��� Abortion Demand��

A surrogate mother currently carrying triplets is resisting pressure from the birth parents to abort one of the fetuses.

Brittanyrose Torres of Thousand Oaks, California, is currently 17 weeks pregnant. Torres was implanted with two fertilized eggs, and while it was hoped that one would develop, they both did, and, what���s more, one halved itself, creating twins. As it happens, the twins are male, and the other child is female.

The way the contract for surrogacy exists between the two parties in this case, Torres receives $25,000 for carrying one baby, and $5,000 for carrying to or more.

According to Torres, while the parents seemed excited at first about the prospect of having the three babies, their sentiments subsequently changed, and they demanded the female fetus be aborted. The reason for the demand, according to Torres, is that the parents fear the higher risk of developmental disabilities, but Torres claims all three fetuses have received a clean bill of health from her doctor.

Torres further claims that she offered to adopt the female, rather than have it aborted, but that the birth parents are completely against that option.

Says Torres of her interactions with the babies��� mother: ���I told her I couldn���t abort one of the children. I could not emotionally and physically do that at nearly 13 weeks. I believe it will be killing this baby.���

Roger Stone Says Bill Clinton Is A Serial Rapist And A Former CIA Operative

Trump Soars To 41% In New Poll

Although a great many have expressed outrage over much of what Donald Trump has said since he began running for president this time around, it appears that the more bombastic and controversial his statements, the more Trump���s stock rises among prospective Republican voters. I suspect that what many find to be ���outrageous,��� a bunch more consider to be common-sense, plainspoken ideas about how to finally begin the process of turning around the country.

To wit: According to the results of a Monmouth University national poll released just today���a poll taken just after Trump suggested a possible ban on entry of Muslims in the country���the Donald has hit a new, all-time high in his support from Republican voters. The new numbers show him to have an impressive 41% support level, head and shoulders above his closest rivals. What is particularly significant is how much that figure has increased since the last time Monmouth took this poll, back in October: then, Trump was at 28%.

Speaking of his rivals, there were some changes in their numbers, as well; Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio each saw their numbers go up by 4 points, to 14% and 10%, respectively. Dr. Ben Carson���s numbers changed, too, but not in a way for which he was surely hoping ��� his poll numbers went down rather significantly from October, from 18% to 9%. It has been said for some weeks now that whatever air had been keeping the Carson ���balloon��� afloat was now beginning to escape with a fair amount of speed.
