It was a hard road to get here, we weren’t sure we were going to make it. But to come here and meet you lovely people makes it all worth it. It’s wonderful to travel to another country and find that the readers are every bit as dedicated as the ones where I’m from.

Honestly, I think the thing that annoys me most about all the offended white people attacking Gail Simone is that if she wasn’t white, but still trying to have a conversation about race, the worst thing she would be called probably wouldn’t be “race traitor.*”

I agree with this post 1000000%.

If a POC were telling these same jokes, people would be treating them like human slime, and you don’t need to look very far to prove it because it happens ALL DAY EVERY DAY.

Even being able to JOKE about privilege shows it exists.

I am really, sadly, running out of things to say on this topic because I am not in the loop making this decision. I love Stephanie. I want her back. I’ve tried a bunch of different ways to make it happen and none worked.

So my only real comment is, I totally understand, I hope she comes back and SOON.

So, Yesterday

I hate to explain this stuff, but even some friends were left scratching their heads a little bit at my Tumblr posts yesterday.

So, sorry, but here’s what happened.

In one of about a billion posts where someone seemingly wanted to diminish the concept of white privilege, I posted a couple brief comments expressing a bit of frustration at what I thought was a pretty clueless position to take.

This caused some poster to say I was a self-hating white person.

Which I think I was supposed to be insulted by, but instead found absolutely hilarious.

So, making fun of THAT caused my inbox to be flooded with anonymous posts (I only reblogged a few choice ones) that reaffirmed the first poster’s position that I am indeed a race traitor who hates white people and a bunch of junk I also didn’t finish reading in some cases because HOLY SHIT some people are goofballs.

I like white people just fine, some of my best ME are white people.  But white people who think white people are the real victims of racism are too goofy to take seriously.

So I didn’t.

There you go, explanation ahoy!

So, did you read it before or after the powers that be somewhat amateurishly changed the hair color of the girl dressed up as Stephanie Brown for Halloween?

Urp, I didn’t hear about this, I’ve been traveling.

Definitely staying in Northern Ireland for a few more days after. Also doing a signing at Forbidden Planet on November third.

I had heard a LITTLE bit about it, I haven’t read it yet. I was so excited  I couldn’t wait for the hard copy, so I had to go ahead and by it on Comixology. Can’t wait, Dustin is a GOD of cute art.
