The closest precedence I can think of is with Tom Tresser, who was made a Guardsman of Themyscira when he and Diana started officially dating (this whole exchange is so, so good - I’m here for the Cleveland jokes all day).
I don’t know if I have a great answer to your question, but I wonder whether there would be some sort of conflict of interest as Steve is also in the US military. Where do his loyalties lie?! jK, they lie to Wonder Woman. But also, I don’t see him using his position as a Themysciran-American to finagle any special trade deals or anything like that. The man just wants to be with Diana, amirite?

Why aren't you a fan of the "Daughter of Zeus" origin? Also, are you able to say if anyone at DC has approached you to help develop a "Secret Six" movie? Seems like one could help alleviate a lot of the criticisms "Suicide Squad" received last summer. I
I don’t feel the origin needed changing. We had ONE iconic superhero origin that was about women. One out of all the major characters. Now we don’t, and I don’t think it added anything. I think it’s a terrible idea and always will. Has nothing to do with the execution, I just find it annoying.
And I have not been approached about any Secret Six pitches. My understanding is, a) they think the title “SUICIDE SQUAD” is more effective to non-readers than “SECRET SIX” (I agree) and b) the concepts are pretty similar and they don’t want to confuse the two.
I would have zero problem with them adding some Secret Six elements, though. Even John Ostrander said he felt the movie Deadshot was more my version than his.
And finally, Suicide Squad is a classic comic, one of my favorites. I am happy it got made into a film!

Okay, I have been pushing this book, BINGO LOVE, pretty hard. It’s a generational love story, written by one of THE most promising new comics writers I have encountered, Tee Franklin. The book is already a hit on Kickstarter, it’s made over 52K. BUT. It’s in its last day of pledging, and IF it makes 60k, then backers will get a bonus Bingo Love superhero story written by ME.
There are not a lot of books like this out there, it’s written by a disabled, queer woman of color, and she writes AMAZING stuff. I’m a huge fan and I’ve gotten to see a lot of the finished material, and it’ s just absolutely dynamite. This is a book that is going to explode.
If you want in, PLEASE pledge in these last 18 hours. If you push us up over 60k, Tee and I will write a bonus story in the Bingo Love universe. I’m telling you, if this book doesn’t melt your heart, nothing will!
