In Honor Of Birds Of Prey

I am really sad this book is ending, but I choose to think of the good stuff for right now. I hope it comes back soon with a kickass creative team. I think DC, and comics, really need a book like BOP.

Anyway, my question of the day is about your favorite bop characters and moments. Please answer with any answer you like, no matter who your favorite creative team was, okay? I just like to hear the different things everyone enjoyed.

Here we go.

What was your favorite BOP character from the television show, if you saw it?

What was your favorite BOP character, pre-new 52, from the comics?

What was your favorite BOP character, in the new52 comics?

And then, what was your favorite all-time Bop story or moment?

Thanks, I am just sorta enjoying hearing all the different favorites of all the versions of the book out there!

“Deadline” concludes as Batgirl teams with Huntress and Black Canary to stop the evil of Obscura! After everything Barbara has been though to become Batgirl – will she be undone by her demons?

!!!

If this is Helena Wayne Huntress teaming up with Batgirl and Black Canary, I at least have ONE positive thing to look forward to in August.

This will be the first she teams up with Barbara Gordon since this story

If it’s not Helena Wayne, at least I can still look forward to seeing her drawn by Nicola Scott in August. :P

Fun fun fun, and WHAT A COVER.

Very sad about BIRDS OF PREY ending.

I feel bad about any good book being canceled, but BOP has always been an important gateway title. I can’t even begin to count the number of readers, especially female readers, who got hooked on comics in large part because of that book.

It is a shame, makes me terribly sad to contemplate.

Thanks to everyone who has worked on that book over the years, it was extremely important to me as a reader and as a writer, and also thanks to the many thousands of people who have supported it over the years.

Sad.

Hi Gail, I just saw your response to my question about Vengeance Moth. Um, I just wanted to say I do hope you get a chance to expand upon what happened at some point, and I realize how this is going to sound, but I really, really hope someone else doesn't

This is the wonderful and also sometimes heartbreaking thing about a shared universe is that not everything is equally important to all writers, and sometimes you throw up a frisbee and someone else catches it. It’s often wonderful (I loved the way Tony Bedard wrote Sin, for example) but sometimes it’s a bit anxious-making.

I think it’s a topic we haven’t seen THAT much in mainstream comics and it could definitely use a tasteful and honest modern spin.  Like everything else, people experience addiction differently.

I haven’t really read all the Roy and Lian stuff but I thought Devin Grayson did some nice work with it, if I remember correctly.

Hopefully Moth will get to tell her story somewhere, whether I write it or someone else. I would love to have someone who was actually in recovery do it, I think they would likely do a better job portraying the emotions.
