One of The Best People I Know...
…is a teacher in the highest poverty level of school (grades K-5) in the Washington, D.C. area. Her name is Ms. Carre, you might know her on Twitter as @cookifit.
She’s a huge comics fan and someone I adore to pieces.
What I didn’t know is that the school she teaches at has no funding for a therapy room for her students, many of whom are special needs kids, some of whom have trauma and ptsd and all manner of other things that can make school far, far more challenging.
Cookifit is trying to raise just a little bit of money for learning and calming toys for her therapy room to help these wonderful kids. Things like animal toys, calculating toys, and other creative, educational toys and games, as well as things like stress balls and anger management games that can specifically help kids who might be struggling.
It’s the best cause by the best person for the best reason.
Check out a bit more information here:
If you can donate even a few dollars, THANK YOU. If not, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE signal boost.
Show these kids that they are important, that teachers are important.
Thank you so much.

A while ago Gail Simone posted a sequence that was cut from Villains United #5 here and I decided that I needed to draw it. I one page ages ago but have only actually got around to finishing the second one.
There is actually a page before these two but I was doing these as much for my portfolio as anything so since the first page is a splash page (although is does establish the scene) I didn’t do it (plus in a hard-copy portfolio a two page sequence opposite each other always looks better).
Not sure if I achieved everything I set out to and there are some things that could probably do with changing (Parademon is standing much too ow in that last panel, for example) but there’s a lot I like too. Plus I very nearly drew some cars too. *ahem*
That is really fun, bevis!
I finally get to see that sequence that I always liked, drawn!

So I was bored at work and got to thinking. What would Deadpool do if he got on the Secret Six team?
Everyone.
Just wanted to let you know I just finished Red Sonja 2 and I LOVED it! It was one of the best books I've read all year, I was giggling like a little girl the entire time, especially at all the bath references. Thank you so much for writing it and bringi
Thank you for this kind note. Truthfully, Red Sonja Volume II is one of my favorite things I have ever written. I just had a blast, the art is gorgeous, the covers are amazing, and I think it’s a very different take on this genre.
Basically I have a bad girl crush on Sonja at this point. SOMEONE HELP ME. I CAN’T STOP WRITING HER.

Do you think string ties (like the kind Colonel Sanders wore) are too antiquated to be able to be pulled off in everyday dress? I've always wanted to wear one, but I'm afraid I'd look silly.
I don’t know if ‘antiquated’ has that much meaning in fashion, barring things that are tied directly to appropriation or something like that.
Wear what you like. :)
I do know that if you feel something looks nice, people pick up on that.
Quick question, which do you prefer. Bow ties or regular ties?
You know, I had a gut reaction to this and it was ‘bow ties,’ and I think it’s because guys often wear neckties when they don’t really want to. The odds are, if we see a guy wearing a tie most of the time, he’s in sales or he’s in an office or some other thing where the tie is mandatory. Mandatory is rarely attractive on people, even if they wear it well.
Lots of guys wear ties because they look good in them, but I think we are more likely to encounter them because of a work thing, the insurance salesmen in Omaha might be wearing a tie, it doesn’t mean he wants to wear a tie.
But a guy wearing a bow tie, odds are, he has made that choice. I think it also shows some confidence because people do still make fun of them (even though they look darn snazzy most of the time). So I guess with guys, I’d go with the bow tie.
Women in general still aren’t required to wear ties as often, that might change the dynamic a little.
I guess it’s this. If you wear a tie and it’s your choice, whatever your gender, it’s probably going to look great.

I am thrilled to announce that my comic book SUPER-POWERED REVENGE CHRISTMAS is now available!

Yes, let’s imply that Wonder Woman “deals with” all of her villains by killing them. That is 100% good characterization of Wonder Woman and not a distortion of her personality and ethics at all. I am so pleased to see everyone on my dash celebrating this idea.

Originally, Diana “dealt with” her enemies by turning them into allies. And then came Countdown to Identity Crisis. And THEN came the new 52.
Just because you don’t have a code against killing doesn’t mean it’s your go-to solution.

God, I hate this panel so much. I hate even more that someone’s decided to pair it with a Gail Simone quote that’s been taken completely out of context. There are elements of Simone’s Wonder Woman run I dislike, but if there’s one thing she understood about the character, it’s that Diana — although prepared to fight, and even to kill if there’s absolutely no other way — will always look for a peaceful resolution before anything else.
"We have a saying, my people. ‘Don’t kill if you can wound, don’t wound if you can subdue, don’t subdue if you can pacify, and don’t raise your hand at all until you’ve first extended it.’" — Wonder Woman #25 (2008)
In Wonder Woman #19, Diana is attacked by an enraged Green Lantern who believes her to be his enemy. She fights back, to defend herself and to give her friend Etta a chance to get away, but once she’s knocked him down, she extends her hand in peace.
He rages at her. He throws punch after punch, and she stands there and lets him. And when he’s exhausted himself—

Diana is not the Punisher. I cannot tell you how much I hate the interpretation that she goes around killing enemies thoughtlessly.
