So you knowing you'll be at emerald city in April? Or too far out to know either way?

I try not to miss ECCC, it’s probably the only con I try to go to every year, both because I love it and because it’s one of the few I can drive to easily.

But there is also something very special about that con. I love the organizers, but I REALLY love the readers there, they just are invested, creative, and open, completely lovely and every time I am surprised in a good way.

It’s also an EXHAUSTING con, I never get to actually see any of it! :)

I hope to go, it’s pretty unusual when I don’t.

Think you'll ever come to FanExpo Toronto?

Toronto is actually one of my favorite cities, but I don’t think FanExpo has invited me, if I remember correctly. I get asked about going there all the time, but I still have to have an invitation from a con.

Is Porcelain a boy who pretends he's a girl, or a girl who pretends she's a boy?

Yikes.

I am going to assume this question is meant without malice, but the answer is neither.

Porcelain is gender fluid, which covers a pretty wide spectrum, but in their case, means that their gender is not fixed and will vary. A gender fluid person may identify as male, female, or some non-binary iteration (each individual person is different).

‘Pretend’ has nothing to do with it, in any case.

Is there any chance at all that you'll be at thought bubble this year? x

Not this year, sadly, but I really do love that con and that area!  They invited me, but I can’t make it to the UK this year, I don’t think. I was there a LOT in the last two years and I have to try to make it to some other shows. Being on the West coast of the USA, it takes a lot to get to the UK and as much as I love it, I have to accept some other invitations for a bit.

But I suspect I will go back next year at least once or twice!

Hi Gail, I became a fan of yours on social media. I have a chance to meet you at a con but I want to read some of your comics first & there isn't a comic shop in my town. What should I start with & is there an online comic service I could use?

I don’t know much about online services, I remember Zeus Comics in Dallas used to have one but I don’t know about now. Can anyone help?

If you want to try my work (thank you!) maybe try the Secret Six collected volumes that came out this year, volumes I and II. Good fun! Or Wonder Woman: The Circle, I am very proud of that one.

I'm super jealous of your misfit mii's hat! I have a famicom and even have the same cart that's on the hat. - Slug (Luke) from Arkansas (P.S. it was awesome to meet you and your husband, I hope you enjoyed our little city! )

I THINK I got the Famicom hat by finding all the chests in the Quest StreetPass game, all I know is it took FOREVER. Thanks for bringing your DS, I have a lot of fun looking at the Miis from the cons we go to. In Chicago, I got Stan Lee’s Mii!

We loved Little Rock. I did the con mostly as a favor to a friend who is helping organize the con, but we had such a good time that I hope we can come back some time. Great food, lovely scenery and REALLY kind people.. River City Comic Expo is an oldschool kind of con in the best possible ways…it’s about comics, and I loved all the nerd craft booths with the handmade geek stuff.

We’ll be back!

Do you think you'd be able to make it to Baltimore comic con?

I think I was just there last year, so probably not this year, sorry!

I had a wonderful time, though!

People were INCREDIBLY nice in Little Rock, AR, at the River City Comic Expo.

We had a great time, many readers were very emotional and I loved seeing so many families and kids. It’s lovely to have kids returning to fandoms. Makes me very happy!

THANK YOU, LITTLE ROCK! I WILL REMEMBER YOU!
