DC Comics To Enter An Austerity Regime - Cancelled Titles, Reduced Page Rates, More Ads - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movie, TV News
Okay, now I just pray this is Bleeding Cool fear-mongering, because if he’s right then we might see what looked like DC finally getting more willing to try new things end so quickly and it could put books like Gotham Academy or We Are Robin in jeopardy.
I haven’t experienced anything different at DC recently, to be honest.
And the one thing this article doesn’t mention is that DC just had its two best years in their publishing history back to back. If they fell a little, it’s weird not to mention that the bar was raised quite high by the last couple years of success.
No More Diversity Panels, It's Time to Move On
Diversity 101 panels aren’t for POC, they’re for White people to talk about POC.

[dropcap1]S[/dropcap1]purred on by my comments about the Hugo Awards of last week, I’ve been observing and participating in online conversations about diversity panels at conventions started by Annalee over at The Bias.com. The existence of the Hugo mess, and the resolution of it, have brought me to the conclusion that I see a number of other commenters coming to: that it is time to move beyond…
Is Ken Lashley's involvement with Secret Six finished?
I think so, sadly. Ken’s a wonderful artist but it just didn’t seem to work out for him.
Fortunately, we have Dale Eaglesham (with help from Tom Derenick) and Dale is THE MAN. I liked the tone Ken had and the art was lovely, but Dale embodies the Six in a way that just makes the book sing. I could not be happier. It was going to be split 50/50 but I think having Dale be the anchor is allowing the book to be what it most wants to be, which is that weird but cool guy hanging around the 7-11 drinking a Slurpee who might actually be an assassin.

The Movement #2
I love Sarah Rainmaker. When she wasn’t part of the New52 line-up, I grabbed her for the Movement just to make sure she existed in new continuity. LOVE her.
PLEASE come to New York Comic Con this year? I will bring you chocolate covered strawberries! :) Deal?
I have been invited but the timing isn’t great, still undecided!
But that offer is tempting…

Swords of Sorrow: Red Sonja and Jungle Girl.
Cover art by Jay Anacleto.
Those are three of the skimpiest costumes in the entire event but good LORD those covers are gorgeous.

Subscription exclusive covers; art by Robert Hack.
Robert Hack killed on these. We had the idea to do some gender-swapped covers, recreating famous Men’s adventure magazines. And Robert ran with that ball and just nailed it. Gorgeous.

Sonja doesn’t have any pants!
I love this piece of art, though. Becky, you amaze me.
But if we had that cover I’d be boiled in oil by now. :)
