Oh Gail. Silly Gail. You are one of THE best writers in comics. Like, top 5, easily.

That’s very, very kind, and it means the world that people like my stuff, but I just can’t think of myself that way. I feel lucky to get to tell stories, that’s already like winning the lottery. I don’t really feel competitive with other writers.

EXCEPT in anthologies and crossover things. :) Seriously, something about being right next to a bunch of other writers brings out this weird, I SHALL CRUSH MY PEERS thing, so when I am in these kind of projects, I try to bring a machine gun to a knife fight. Or a knife picnic. It’s the one time I still play nice, I still cooperate, but man, I want to have the BEST story in any book I’m in with other writers. I have no idea what that’s about. :)

I just went on a tangent. My big point was…THANKS!

So, since the Deadpool ref was you... how good *is* your tuna salad? :) Are there recipes?

It’s a CASSEROLE, and I cook pretty damn well, thank you. :)

I am actually going to post a few recipes in here soon. :P

I've been told your eyebrow game is on point. My question: is it Colossus on point or Wolverine on point?

!!!

I don’t know, but whoever said that about eyebrows is clearly a dear and wonderful human being.

Also, Colossus is more on point than Wolverine. :)

I've just been to see the new Deadpool film, it's fantastic, (in my humble opinion at least) It was full of writer & artist name checks including I believe yours. I notice from your feed that you don't watch many films, but they have totally captured the e

I actually DO watch a lot of films, I just don’t watch tv, and I don’t pay attention to Hollywood culture, so I never know who the actors are until they’re like, either mega-superstar famous to where they can’t be avoided, or if they’re in something I really loved and actually paid attention to, if that makes sense.

And yes, I am told that was a direct reference to me in the Deadpool movie, which I absolutely loved. I found it hilarious and full of heart!

Did you ever get the chance to write for any of the 'Milestone Universe' characters?

Not really.

Dwayne McDuffie asked me several times to write Static. He seemed to think I’d nail it. I think he asked at least four times. But for me, it made no sense to write Virgil when his creator was RIGHT THERE and still at the top of his form. I just couldn’t do it. And now, I think I would be too sad. I still get upset whenever I see his name.

There are better people to do it. I would love to write something in tribute to my friend, hero and mentor Dwayne, but it would be very difficult indeed. Not even sure if I could.
