I was always kind of amazed we got away with that scene, actually!
APE IN A CAPE: Did A Signing In Newcastle Last Night
At Travelling Man UK, comics and game shop.
I think I might be in love with England. The readers here are as hardcore and kind as any I've ever met. They are incredibly sweet and the hospitality is warm and extensive.
I signed with Tim Sale and Rich Starking and we agreed, the groups in England…
…Do you mean England-England or, like, Britain?
(Pet peeve because I am Scottish and my country doesn't = England. Neither does Wales or N.Ireland for that matter.)
Noted, and I'm sorry for causing offense. I have not been to to Scotland, or to Northern Ireland, so I haven't experienced them yet. The closest I have been is Limerick and Dublin, with a lovely drive in-between.

I think I might be in love with England. The readers here are as hardcore and kind as any I've ever met. They are incredibly sweet and the hospitality is warm and extensive.
I signed with Tim Sale and Rich Starking and we agreed, the groups in England are very, very special. A reader even brought me a Dalek keychain/flashlight, I love it.
The readers here seem to be big Batgirl and Secret Six readers. Every town I go to, the emphasis is a little different…in London it was Secret Six and Welcome to Tranquility.
The towns are beautiful, the food is lovely, and the people are absolutely wonderful. I might want to stay in England forever.
I have to also say, the organizers of Thought Bubble and the Travelling Man shops are some of the sweetest and most gracious anywhere. Seriously, they treat guests tremendously well.
Love it here.
On Friday, I'm going to York for sightseeing and another signing, the afternoon at Travelling Man, York branch. Saturday and Sunday is the Thought Balloon festival.
Hope to see some of you there!

Batgirl and her Dalek
Inspired by Gail Simone (who said she didn't know how to post the pictures on tumblr)
Batgirl hugging a Dalek is too cute! :D
And Batgirl riding a Dalek is pure epicness. Now we know how she gets around when her bike is in the shop!
Rock the fuck on, people.
I now really want to see a Batgirl/Doctor Who crossover in the comic books
These made me so happy…you really have to click on the individual photos to get the full impact.
This is something I love about the comics readership, so intensely creative! I made a throwaway comment and people brought it to life like this in no time at all. So fun!

Blac...

Black Alice. Though I feel like this is more like a regular fan art rather than an actual sweater girl piece because she almost always looks something like this in her regular outfits (so I'm not changing much from what she'd always worn..unless she starts stealing powers that is! XD)
Magic Monday bonus!!
Super cute Black Alice artwork! I love how she looks here :)
That is one adorable Black Alice!

Candy Comas: About Richard And Dick
That sounds weird.
Anyway, I spoke with the writer of Nightwing just a few minutes ago, and they are sticking with Dick!
That sounds weird, too. Apparently, 'Dick' is still Richard Grayson's nickname. The request I got to call him Richard, or, alternatively, Rick, seemingly…
They could have held it off for a thousand years and there still would have been little mistakes, to be honest. It's a ton of people, a ton of characters, and nothing like this has been attempted on this scale before in comics. There's going to be mistakes.
This one is easily rectifiable, some will be more difficult, I'm sure.
HA! Batgirl and A Dalek
I'm just getting into Doctor Who and I adore the Daleks best of all.
I asked twitterers to post a sketch of Batgirl and a Dalek and got a ton of beautiful responses. If I knew how to post them here, I would.
I kind of love the internet, sometimes.
ONE OF US, ONE OF US, ONE OF US.
;)
First, your avatar photo is FIERCE. Second, you are awesome.
I have to figure out how to get those twitpic photos on this thread, some of them are adorable.
AND YES I LIKE DOCTOR WHO NOW!
Ugh, those are total shit reasons, and sadly, very obviously true. But, isn't Damian half Southeast Asian? Of course his lineage is composed of villainy, which isn't a positive portrayal (well, I guess Dami isn't either...), but they ARE there, at least.
The annoying thing about the excuses I listed is that people still actually use them. It's ridiculous.
I think that's true about Damian, but I think the OP is saying that there is a scarcity of characters of that background, and that seems undeniably true.
