Just to mention for the DC Nation thing, they confirmed that besides the Super BFFs they're doing shorts for Black Lightning and Vibe, who are black and Latino respectively. And I think the next Batman cartoon is airing on DC Nation as well and that has Ka

That is very exciting to hear. I have to admit, I have a soft spot for the concept of Vibe, although at the time, he was pretty goofy. But I do like the idea. And Black Lightning is one of my favorites, I think he really could be one of DC's top, iconic characters, and I don't say that lightly. It could be done.

Katana's portrayals have often been problematic for  me, but the animated guys are great about fixing that sort of thing. This is good news all around.

Like I say, the animated teams are mostly huge fans of comics, they are GOOD, GOOD people, they really want to bring these characters into the current century.  I believe one of the reasons Ryan Choi is coming back is because the Brave and Bold people liked him so much and spotlighted him deliberately.

They're the good guys, they really are. There are some animated versions of characters I much prefer to the print ones, I hate to say.

When talking about DC Nation, I know they probably intend to start with the more popular/iconic characters, but what are the chances, you think, of pushing some of the more diverse characters into the public eye through television, hopefully leading to a s

I hope so. I don't have much to do with the animation arm of Warners, you guys know as much as I do.

But I  do know that Static was a much bigger hit as a cartoon character than it was as a comic book character. And it STILL never got a major toy line or tons of merchandise, despite being a hit show that people loved. You go to any toy store and you can see tons of dead toy lines for shows and concepts no one cared about at all, but nothing for Static, despite it's considerable success.

The whole process is very slow to change. Even when lightning strikes and a great show is made with a poc lead, the things that can make it a phenomenon seem to be harder to reach. If toy companies don't make a toy line, then the show makes less money, if the show makes less money, there's no merchandise, it's just up and down a very slow and sometimes frustrating process.

I don't know what to say. I know the animation people at Warners and they are very forward thinking, more so than some comics people. I believe they want to do the right thing. And they have done some amazing stuff.
