Titan Giveaway round 2!
We’re less than two months away from the release of The Power, book 2 in the Titan Series, which releases on Feb. 23rd 2016.
**
With any great change, there is always strife, and the Covenant University has become the frontline between pure-bloods who want the Breed Order reinstated and the half-bloods who want the right to control their own destinies.
Fate has other plans.
The violence is escalating and war between the races seems inevitable, and it couldn’t come at a worse time. Hyperion may be out of commission, but Josie and Seth know they have only earned a reprieve. Seth must get Josie fully prepared, which means controlling her newfound abilities, and they need to find the other demigods before the Titans do.
But the gods are sensing a greater threat.
Only one thing is more dangerous than a bunch of starved Titans, and that’s an out-of-control Apollyon. The aether in Josie is drawing Seth in deeper, and when lust mixes with love and gives way to power, he knows being close to her is not only dangerous to her, but to everyone around them, but letting her go requires a level of selflessness that just isn’t Seth’s style.
The paths taken in the past are becoming the roads of the future.
Just as chaos breaks out, familiar faces from the past return, complicating the already strained bond between Josie and Seth, and when the danger from the Titans erupts with devastating consequences, the dark allure of power calls to Seth again, but this time Josie might not be able to pull him back.
And when the struggle between power and love becomes the deadliest battleground, there may be no salvation.

Get Invaded with a bunch of books
Ready to Get Invaded… by Daemon Black?
Oblivion releases on December 1st
If you’d like to receive a Kat and Daemon bonus scene, all you have to do is order Oblivion (in ANY version) before December 4, 2015 and fill out THIS form.
Please remember:
Oblivion (Trade paperback) – will just be Obsidian in Daemon’s POV
Oblivion (digital copy across all retailers) – will be Obsidian, Onyx, and Opal in Daemon’s POV
Reason why?
Oblivion would’ve been a massive book in print, coming in over 1300 pages which made putting the book in print very difficult and not very cost friendly to the readers. But Entangled Teen and I knew that some of you would want Oblivion in print, a copy that you can hold in your hands.
So Oblivion will be available in print for those who wish to have a physical copy. The print copy will be Obsidian told in Daemon’s POV, and the digital version will include Obsidian, plus two bonus books (Onyx and Opal) in Daemon’s POV. The Print version will be available at online retailers and is mainly in place for those who want a print copy. The digital book includes all three stories. If you do end up purchasing both versions, you’ll be paying roughly $17-$18 combined for what basically is three books. If you pre order the print copy right now, both versions will cost you around $13 dollars. There will not be an online signing for release, mainly because of timing.
Foreign territories may chose to release Oblivion differently. They may decide to release the book in three sections at different times, in different volumes. I will have no control over that.
You can Get Invaded by winning a ton of awesome books
All of my books are signed, as is Linda Lael Miller’s, Shiloh Walker, and Maya Banks. And yes, that is an ARC of The Return and a never seen before copy of Obsession. That is also a metal plate of Opposition that was not claimed by previous winner.
Contest is international
Ends 11/8

Winner must respond to email provided upon entry w/in 48 hours to claim prize or prize is forfeited.

This Song is All About Daemon Black
As some of you may know, Entangled announced last week that they’ve started up Entangled Music.
Entangled Music plans initial focus to be on their first label, Subtext Records, which releases “character inspired” soundtracks based on books for inclusion with purchase, as well as streaming. Separate tracks will also be available for purchase on all major retailers
Oblivion and Obsidian received the music treatment, and after speaking with David Elliott Johnson, who music writing has landed him in the Top 10 around the world, I couldn’t wait to see what he came up with. A sneak peak of the song completely inspired by Daemon Black is embedded in the Oblivion trailer.
Listen to the lyrics. That screams Daemon throughout Oblivion.
-Song name: “Turn Your Eyes”
Performed by Paul Jonathan Holmes
Song written by Paul Jonathan Holmes & David Elliott Johnson
It’s performed by Paul Jonathan Holmes and written by Paul and David Elliott Johnson. They read everything they could about Daemon and Obsidian, and wrote the song about how Daemon feels in Oblivion about having the weight of the race and keeping Katie safe and Dee on his shoulders. Every line in the song was written from putting themselves in Daemon’s POV.
The full version of Turn Your Eyes will be available with the purchase of the Oblivion e book as it is embedded in the e book!
I’ve also heard the rest of the songs inspired by Katy and Daemon, which will be released shortly, and they are super amazing.

Believe it or not, there is actually a new scene that was cut out of Oblivion. So if you’d like to receive the bonus scene, all you have to do is order Oblivion (in ANY version) before December 4, 2015 and fill out THIS form.
Please remember:

Obsidian movie news
I finally have a few moments to blog about the Obsidian movie news that broke on Wednesday, October 14th. Deadline reported the updates. If you haven’t read their article, you can go HERE.
As you guys know, Obsidian was optioned for a major motion picture by Sierra Affinity back in 2013. You can see some of their film history HERE but it doesn’t list everything. A lot of stuff has been going on behind the scenes and finally we’re able to share the exciting news.
Mr. Mudd comes on board as the Production company for Obsidian!
I’ve been told acquiring a production company is one of the hardest steps during the film making business, and Mr. Mudd is da bomb. They are the Award Winning producers Lianne Halfon, John Malkovich and Russell Smith. You can visit their official website HERE, learn more about them HERE and HERE. They are the amazing A-team behind Perks of Being a Wallflower, Juno, Ghost World, Labor Day, Young Adult, and many, many more. Producers Lianne Halfon and Russell Smith will be heading up the project.
I got to meet with Lianne and Russ while at the Sierra Affinity offices in Los Angeles, along with Kelly who acquired Obsidian. I was with my agent when we stepped off the elevator and looked to our immediate right and saw the first Sierra Affinity logo. That’s the moment it became super real. Then we saw Russ Smith outside talking to Sierra President and CEO Nick Meyer (who I also got meet). When we headed into their offices and got down to our meeting in possibly the coolest rooms that had all their movie posters on the walls. I’ve spoken to Lianna, Russ, and Kelly before. I’ve known about Mr. Mudd coming on board since early spring and I had to keep it quiet. It killed me. But chatting with them in person was just awesome. The best thing about this team is that they understand the Lux Series and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Not just one book. They’ve read the entire series and everything they said spoke to my little writer heart. I wish I could tell you everything we talked about, because we talked about some super exciting developments, but what I can tell you that they are extremely determined and dedicated to getting the Obsidian movie made. I left that meeting one hundred percent positive that Obsidian was in great hands and they’re going to do amazing things with the adaption.
Ava Dellairia will adapt Obsidian for screen!
The second piece of super exciting news was that Ava will be adapting Obsidian for film. Some of you may know Ava as the novelist behind the amazing Love Letters to the Dead. She’s also a screenwriter and has adapted her own book for 20th Century Fox and was the associate producer on Perks Of Being a Wallflower. You can learn more about Ava HERE .
I also got to meet Ava while in Los Angeles. We met up Saturday night after the signing and chatted for a bit about Obsidian, the Lux Series, and somehow we ended up talking about haunted hotels (that is all on me). Ava is not only extraordinarily talented, she is also very sweet. Hearing that she has read the entire Lux Series and loves the dynamic between the characters should set everyone at ease when it comes to the adaption. Ava is a novelist and because of that, she understands more than anyone the fine line that exists between a movie and the book’s adaption. She respects the original material, and that tells me that Daemon and Kat, Dee and everyone else, is in great, capable hands. She’s going to do amazing things with the screenplay and I cannot wait to read it!
These are huge, amazing news for the Obsidian movie. To get such a great team behind it bodes very well. There is still a lot that needs to happen, and your continuing support will help it on it’s final stretch. So keep talking about the series and the movie. Write posts, post on Facebook, and tweet about it when you want. Tell the world how excited you are. Keep doing what you’re doing, and hopefully by spring of next year it rolls into production.
Meanwhile, just a couple of reminders about the film process:
I do not control any aspect of casting, filming or development..
No one is guaranteed or promised a role in this film. Once a casting director is brought on, they will look for experience, age, and the ability to carry a possible franchise on screen. They will cast actors who will give Obsidian the best shot at success. I want that. We should all want that.
I cannot tell you when or where casting will be held or if it will even have open casting. I’m assuming casting agents and what not would have that info eventually. That is not in my realm of expertise.
And now that we’re talking about the Lux Series, don’t forget that Oblivion is coming out December 1st, 2015
Oblivion paperback (Obsidian in Daemon’s POV) is on sale right now for less than $7 bucks on Amazon!

Foreign territories may chose to release Oblivion differently. They may decide to release the book in three sections at different times, in different volumes. I will have no control over that.
Also, there is something very special in Oblivion and it’s not the note from Onyx. Something cooler, methinks.

THE VANISHING THRONE is book two and it comes out June 7th, 2016.
Isn’t it beautiful?
Here is the description:
The second book in the Falconer trilogy is packed with surprises and suspense. Aileana Cameron, the Falconer, disappeared through the portal that she was trying to close forever. Now she wakes up in the fae world, trapped and tortured by the evil Lonnrach. With the help of an unexpected ally, Aileana re-enters the human world, only to find everything irrevocably changed. Edinburgh has been destroyed, and the few human survivors are living in an uneasy truce with the fae, while both worlds are in danger of disappearing altogether. Aileana holds the key to saving both worlds, but in order to do so she must awaken her latent Falconer powers. And the price of doing that might be her life. Rich with imaginative detail, action, fae lore, and romance, The Vanishing Throne is a thrilling sequel to The Falconer.

Elizabeth is also very thrilled about this cover, as she should be. She had this to say:
“I am absolutely in love with this cover. I recognize the challenge Chronicle’s team had in designing the packaging for this book. Not only did they have to come up with something that matched the striking cover for The Falconer, but one that reflected the massive way Aileana’s story has changed in The Vanishing Throne. They went above and beyond my expectations here. Every part shows an exquisite attention to the book’s details: from the ruins peeking out in the background to Aileana’s vivid ginger curls, beautiful sword and battered clothes (a contrast to the cleanly laced up bodice on The Falconer’s cover). The two covers match, and yet they’re starkly different — much in the way the two books are. I hope readers adore it every bit as much as I do.”—Elizabeth May
To celebrate the reveal of THE VANISHING THRONE, I’m giving away a copy of the amazing THE FALCONER plus a complete signed set of The Dark Elements

Taking some time…
All I want to do right now is curl up in bed and rock, surrounded by my piles of tissues. Mountains really. Like Seneca Rock level of tissue piles. But I can’t, because I have a book to finish. So I’m feeling super whiny, because I need to get better before Comic Con and the LA trip. But this round of ickiness means it’s time for me to talk about something I’ve been considering the last two months.
I can count on one hand how many times I’ve actually gotten a cold/flu in ten years. Two of the times have been this year alone, which pretty much cements my decision that once I finish this book, I have to take time off.
I haven’t taken a vacation longer than a handful of days not counting the time I moved since 2009. Since I started writing full time somewhere around 2012, I’ve been working roughly 7 days a week for about 8-10 hours a day unless I’m traveling for an event. My choice. I happily signed the contracts and happily agreed to attend the events.
To be real honest, it’s caught up to me, especially after the RP diagnosis. This year has been super stressful and I’ve been treading water. Books and edits due literally at the same exact time. Not able to write as long as usually do, because my eyes seriously start hurting. There’s a lot more offline business things that have to be handled, and then there’s trying to have a life outside of writing and events. Something I haven’t really done.
I had to rearrange my work schedule this year to squeeze a mammoth book in (Oblivion), and it pushed other works back, which makes me freak out internally and stress the hell out, but like my agent has insisted for well over two years now, everyone will understand if I take a much needed break. I know that. At least, I hope that’s the case, but I HATE doing that. I hate having deadlines hanging over my head and hate having to push stuff back.
But the break is much needed, guys. I’m not just tired. I’m le tired. I need time off.
So after finishing the book I’m working on, the one that is contracted w/ a publisher, I will be taking a month off from writing. This means there are at least two books that will be pushed back until next year. That is Torn and Fire In You. The reason why it’s those two books is because they are not contracted. These are the books I choose to write when my head was way above water. They will get written, most likely in the beginning of next year to sometime in the spring. I hate to do it, but I have to take some non-writing time, for actual health and mental health. Cuz…
Fire In You (which is not contracted but is the last book in the Wait for You series) – still has a tentative March/April release date. If that changes, you’ll know.
Torn (book 2 in the Wicked Saga) will most likely hit sometime during the summer. If that changes, you’ll know.
2016 is still going to be a bit rough with the traveling and multiple books scheduled, but taking this break now will get me through the year. Not taking the break means crashing and burning in the most epic way.
Thank you for being amazingly understanding and supportive of this. And who knows? Maybe I take two weeks off and that’s enough and everything falls back into place. Maybe not. But thank you for being the awesome readers that you are.
Meanwhile, don’t forget Forever With You is out, available in all formats, click HERE. Bonus scene (if you filled out the form and all that jazz) will be emailed to you after October 7th.
Also, aspiring authors, you can enter a contest for a fully paid trip to RT. Details HERE.

3rd Annual Write Your Way to RT
The 3rd Annual Write Your Way to the 2016 RT Book Lovers’ Convention in Vegas
A little known fact about me is that I believe in Paying It Forward. You know, if you’re having good things happen, you should share as much as you can and pay it forward somehow. I also know how hard it is to get your feet in the door when it comes to writing and even attending the big events where agents, editors, and authors come together to talk all things books.
Writer events really aren’t on the cheap side, but they are worth every red penny and then some.
Especially this one.
2016 RT Book Lover’s Convention will be in Vegas, Neveda. For those who’ve never had the pleasure of attending the RT Convention, it caters to both writers and readers. It’s nearly a week long event where you can mingle with other readers, writers, and most likely, your favorite authors. You can attend panels focused on readers and you can attend panels that are for writers. Not only that, you get to meet top agents and editors. A lot of agent/editor referrals come from events like RT. And there’s parties, awards ceremonies, slumber parties, Teen Day, and a GIANT BOOK fair with hundreds of the most popular authors.
So, I got to thinking a couple of years ago. How could I come up with a contest centered around one of the hottest events in the biz?
And so I did.
Write Your way to the 2016 RT Convention
Grand Prize
You will be flown into Vegas on Tuesday, April 12th 2016 (if flying is required) and you will be able to attend all the RT events and panels through the 17th of April, leaving on Sunday. RT events do continue throughout Sunday, but if you would like to stay the extra day, you’re on your own for that one.
Your hotel will be covered.
Your registration, valued at $495 will be covered.
You will be at RT, hanging with readers and writers.
Runner- Up
Will receive a box of books and swag!

She is the NY Times and USA Today best selling author of fiction for young adults – and adults who love fast-paced, thrilling reads. Her debut novel, UNDER THE NEVER SKY, was the first in a post-apocalyptic trilogy. Released in January 2012, it was deemed one of the Best Books of the Year by School Library Journal. The UNDER THE NEVER SKY trilogy is available in over twenty-five territories, and film rights have been optioned. Her second series, RIDERS, is a modern-day fantasy about four teens who unwittingly become incarnations of the legendary horsemen of the apocalypse, and the girl who leads them in their fight against an ancient, emerging evil. It released February 2016, with the sequel expected in early 2017. Veronica is also half of the New Adult writing duo behind the BOOMERANG trilogy, writing with Lorin Oberweger as Noelle August. Rules/Disclaimers/And other important stuff you NEED to read
Must be 18 years of age or older to enter. Entries under this age will be null and voided. No exceptions. I cannot be responsible for a minor attending this event.
Entry cannot exceed 1500 words and must be submitted by December 31st or before 150 entries have been received. Website will be updated with number of entries.
Upon entering the contest, you are agreeing to attend RT 2016 in Vegas. Please do not enter this contest if there is even a small chance you will not be able to attend due to any reason. I will be paying for the flight, the hotel, and the registration. Most of these are nonrefundable. If you back out after payment, that’s a lot of money down the drain plus someone else could’ve won and benefited from this opportunity.
Author, Judges, and RT Book Convention hold no liability for anything in this contest. So that means by entering, if you win and the airline loses your luggage or, in your excitement, you jump over your couch and break a leg, we are not responsible.
This contest is not sponsored by RT Book Reviews and is solely financed by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
By entering, you are a giving me the permission to share your short story through any venue I see fit. I will not be publishing the stories for financial gain, but story may be shared in a promotional or other way related to the contest.
For International Peeps
Originally, I was only going to limit the contest to US and Canada entries, simply because of the cost of international flights and all the other things to take in consideration: passports, potential customs issues, entry and exit of the states, and all that jazz. That’s a lot of money and a lot of responsibility. However, I have come up with an alternative. Please see the guidelines below for International entry. DO NOT enter the contest unless you can accept the guidelines. I do not want to award this prize to a winner who cannot attend the event due to International travel issues.
An international winner will be awarded a $700 voucher toward airfare (the approximate cost of a US city to US city flight), and the winner will be responsible for the remaining cost to travel into the US. Before entering this contest, ask yourself if you have the funds to cover the rest of the trip. Check out rates. Get information. DO NOT enter if you cannot purchase the rest of the ticket.
International winner must have a valid passport and meet all traveling requirements that are set forth by the United States Government.
This is a prize package that averages between $2,000-$3,000 when its all said and done. It’s huge. It’s epic. It’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun in Vegas.
