Happy Release week to Wren Michaels and the Uniform Fetish Anthologies !! #giveaway

Welcome to the Uniform Fetish Blog Tour! If you haven’t yet read mine in the collection—WELCOME HOME, JASON—here’s a blurb to get you started. Sit back, have some coffee or wine and meet my uniformed hero, Jason.

Four years ago Katy said goodbye to her brother Roger and his best friend, Jason, as they deployed for the Middle East. Two weeks ago they both came back. Only one of them was alive.

After Roger's funeral, Katy turns to Jason for comfort. She's been in love with him since she was eight years old, but knew he never saw her as anything other than Roger's little sister. Overwhelmed with grief, she pleads with Jason to help her drown her pain, convincing him to sleep with her to help her escape for a while. But deep in her heart the real reason is because he came back alive, and her love for him reignites.

Jason fights his desires, as he has for fifteen years since he fell in love with his best friend's sister. He pushed his own feelings aside out of respect for Roger. But when Katy's grief is too much, he'll do anything to help her ease the pain.

As they share in each others pain and grief, they also ignite a love both of them have forced back for years
.

Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to Jason, the hero in Welcome Home, Jason. Let's get to know him a little better.
Q: Hi Jason, thanks for stopping by today. So, what do you wear to bed?
Jason: Just jump into the good stuff why don't ya. LOL Honestly, nothing. Used to wear boxers to bed before Katy came along. Now that just gets in the way.
Q: Speaking of naked, do you have any tattoos?
Jason: Being a marine, I have Semper Fi on my left arm, and an Eagle on the other.
Q: Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Jason: Never trying. I learned that recently. If it hadn't been for Katy taking the first step, I wouldn't know true happiness.
Q: What's your favorite color?
Jason: Blue
Q: What's your favorite food?
Jason: Lasagna
Q: What's your favorite sound?
Jason: Katy having an orgasm.
Q: And in closing, what's one regret?
Jason: Not telling Katy how I felt years ago. Life's so short, if you love someone, tell them. I should have told Roger a long time ago I loved her, but the best friend line always held me back. In my heart, I think I knew he would have told me to go for it. I think it was more fear of Katy rejecting me than Roger holding me back. And we missed years of our lives we could have been together. So never waste another day to tell someone you love them.
Q: Beautifully said, Jason. Thank you for answering questions today!
Now let's take a sneak peek at a scene from my story:

The limo stops in front of my apartment building, and Jason helps me from the car. Silence dominates our walk to my front door, neither of us needing to speak. I let myself inside and toss the keys to the counter where they skid over the top, crashing to the kitchen floor on the other side. And I leave them there.Jason remains in the doorway, his barracks cover tucked under his arm. I spin around and look at him, so handsome in his dress uniform. Ice-blue eyes under dark, buzz-cut hair stare back at me. His clean-shaven chiseled jawline clenches. Broad shoulders stand at attention, muscular and strong from years in the Marines. But I've had a crush on him from long before he filled out a uniform. Since that day he gave me that strawberry. What I wanted from him was a kiss, not chocolate. But I never got to tell him because he ran away. “You gonna be okay?” he asks from the doorway.“No. I'll never be okay ever again.” My lips tremble as I force the words out. “But I'm sure in time I'll somehow learn to survive.” An ache burns in my chest, and I lurch forward as the tears overwhelm me once more.Jason dashes in from the doorway and collects me in a puddle, carrying me to the sofa. Warm, safe arms wrap around me and curl me to his chest. His cologne stiffens my nostrils and floods my belly with a warmth I haven't felt in a long time. “Stay with me tonight,” I whisper as I cling to his jacket like a lifeline. “I don't wanna be alone.”He swallows hard, jolting my head against his chest, and the pace of his heartbeat quickens. I know he'd never take advantage of me. I'm like his little sister. He's never thought of me more than that, especially since Roger was his best friend. But for the last fifteen years I've never stopped dreaming about Jason, wishing and hoping some day he'd feel the same way about me. Then the military took over his, and my brother's, lives. I rarely saw them over the last four years. And now this. “Are you sure?” he asks in more of a gasp than words. “I won't leave you if you need me.”I crawl into his lap, my thin black dress gathering up my thighs as I straddle him. My fingers curl into his jacket, yanking it toward me as my heated watery glare locks onto his. “There's a hole in my heart, Jason. I need something to fill it. I need you to fill it. Take me away from this pain.”Wide eyes stare back at me as he shakes his head. “You're not asking what I think you are, are you, Katy?”“Don't you feel it?” I suck in a gasping breath, choking on my tears. “The stabbing pain gouging a hole in your soul?” I plead with my eyes. “Make it stop.” My lips tremble like little jackhammers. “Please, make it stop.”Large hands grip the sides of my face, his blazing glare boring another hole into my already porous heart. “Think about what you're asking me to do. I just fucking lost my best friend, Katy. Yes I feel a hole. I feel the pain on a level you can't even imagine. But I'm not gonna betray him and sleep with his sister. I can't do it.”His words gut me. My bottled emotions overflow in liquid rejection careening over my cheeks. I fight the urge to pummel his chest with my clenched fist. Rage teeters a thin gray line hovering over my heart. Anything is better than the grief settling like winter in my soul.“That's all I've ever been to you? Never once did you ever think of me as more than that? As more than just Roger's little sister?” Salty tears continue to rain down my cheeks, slicking my nose and lips. “You don't get it, do you? I don't want to be your sister. I want you to fuck me, Jason. I want you to fill me. And when I need you most, you're turning your back on me.” My chest convulses in sobs as I punch him.“Shit, Katy!” His eyes shoot wide again as he grips my face again in his hands. Our gazes glue to one another. Heavy, heated breaths huff in and out of his chest beneath me. “I have no words.”“I need something to make me forget.” I dot his face with my fingertips, as if memorizing his features by touch. “Don't you wanna forget? Just go somewhere else, be someone else for a little while? An escape?”He stares at me, confusion coloring his eyes an icy gray. Worry floods my heart that he'll pick up and leave, run from me. Leaving me once again alone.

Happy Release Day to A GORGEOUS MESS by Layla Wolfe w/a #giveaway

A Gorgeous MessThe Bent Zealots MC, Book #2Layla Wolfe

Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.

ANSON : I was just a mercenary back from fighting the good fight overseas. I was on a quest for my father, my roots, looking for answers. Turk Blackburn, Bent Zealots MC Prez, ordered me on a fresh operation to prove myself, my guts, my valor. Infiltrate the Navajo Rez and find out who is claiming the Zealots’ turf, using kids to cook drugs.

My partner is the famous badge slut, Ormond Tangier, known far and wide for his mad oral skills, his subservience to anyone in uniform. Mercenaries don’t wear badges, but my dominant side soon has me all over that seductive Spanish servant. A man may as well have a few laughs while on a fatal mission. Because these things never end pleasantly.

ORMOND: I was flung into a life-or-death battle against the slimy Iceman, leader of a rival MC. Iceman is running all sorts of questionable ops on Bent Zealots land, and now Anson and I have to prove our street creds just to stake a claim in our own backyard.

I’m a friend of cops, firemen, and soldiers alike, but suddenly I only want one man ordering me around. Anson Dineyazzie, macho half-breed hired gun, has stolen more than just my heart. This was never supposed to happen.

ANSON: I swear I’m never falling for that service bottom Ormond. I’m accomplishing this op and going back to Afghanistan. But I have to wrest control of this Rez land from Iceman and the lethal hit man who has been trailing us. I’d bury anyone who got between me and Ormond. Does that mean I’m in love? God, I hope not. Don’t think I can take that again. Just need to get back onto the open road and blow the dust from my soul.

Publisher’s warning: This book is not for the faint of heart. It contains scenes of gay sex, illegal doings, violence, and forced seduction roleplay.

Excerpt
“One time won’t be enough. I’ll tell you that much, princess,” he said as his hand was traveling down her outer thigh and then back up to cup her bottom. A punch to her gut couldn’t have been any more shocking. She sat straight up, pushing him off with a burst of strength she hadn’t known she possessed. “What did you say? What did you call me?” Did he know? Had he known all along? Was he loyal to her father or…her brother? Would he keep her captive until her brother arrived for the reward? “What? What’s wrong?” He sounded a little like a child whose favorite toy had just been taken away.“You called me princess. Why would you do that?” She couldn’t quite make out his features and took comfort in the dimness as she tried stuffing her breasts back into her suit.“It’s an endearment. And since I don’t know your name I thought it sounded better than whore.” She gasped. Where was that tranq-pen when she needed it? “Not that I have anything against whores,” he back-peddled. “I love whores. Look at you. I have absolutely nothing against you.” “I am not a whore.” He sighed a very put-on-upon sigh. “Ah right, there’s a politically correct name. Ummm patron-pleaser? Was that it?” “Patron-please this.” She had found the tranq-pen beside her leg and in one quick movement had the needle stabbed deep into his shoulder. He yelled. “What the…” Mya quickly scrambled off the bed, not at all sure where she was going to run. He pulled the pen out of his arm and looked down. “Tranq-gun? Jupiter’s tits, you stuck me with a tranq-gun?” Mya’s heart was pounding. She’d never actually used the tranq-pen before. The instructions had said the effects were immediate, but as to the definition of immediate she wasn’t sure. Could he kill her in the amount of time he had before the drug took effect? It looked like he could kill very quickly. “It’s a tranq-pen, not a gun. The effects will only put you out for a few hours verse a gun that could put you down permanently.”Any second now. The effects should kick in right about…“Ahhhhh.” He threw the pen against the wall and lurched for her, hands extended as if to close around her throat. Mya never moved so fast in her life. She jumped out of the way and headed toward the exit. She didn’t make it that far. He tackled her legs and they both went down. She placed a well-aimed kick at his head. He caught her foot and twisted her leg. She rolled over on her back to prevent her knee from snapping. Now. Now. Now would be good. He held her to the floor, both arms above her head. His knees pinned on top of her legs. “Why! Why did you tranq me? Is it to rob me blind? Is that it?” Her space suit was still unzipped, breasts barely covered as her heart slammed into her chest. “Holy Jupiter, I gave you enough tranq to down an elephant. Why are you still awake?” He shook his head like a rabid dog. Suddenly, she was glad of the scarce lighting—not wanting to see in his eyes what he was planning to do to her. “No. No, if I am going out, you’ll be here when I wake up.” He clasped her wrist and stood, dragging her over to his bag in the corner. He stumbled, and for a blessed moment she thought he was going down. Then he righted himself and dragged her across the floor like a rag doll. When she saw the current-cuffs, she renewed her efforts to fight. There was no way handcuffing her would work out in her favor. “Help. Help!” “Scream all you want. There’s no one here that’s going to save you.” Even in the graying shadows she could see his wicked smile. Everything happened so fast. A cuff was slapped on her wrist, the other end to his. “That should keep you,” he growled. She was sprawled out on the floor, arm at an awkward angle, spacesuit surrendering any attempts at decency. “My God, was there even tranquilizer in that pen?” “Apparently not, Princess. I feel fine.” He took a step, then stilled. His body swayed, one arm out for balance. Mya had about two seconds to get up and push him in the direction of the bed. She had no intention of getting crushed underneath two hundred-plus pounds of unconscious man. She’d once watched a logger take down a huge pine that had the misfortune of being in the path of Prince Sar’s new swimming pool. When the tree fell, the whole ground shook with the vibration. Watching him fall, Mya felt sorry for the bed. The momentum of his fall propelled her forward, and she ended face down, half on the bed and half off. It was two full minutes of stilted breathing and silent praying before she was positive he was out. She was going to issue a strongly worded complaint to whoever defined the word immediate in the tranq-pen advertisement. She pushed her sweat-dampened hair out of her eyes, shoved her breasts back into her suit and zipped back up. With dignity resorted, Mya surveyed her predicament. Oh Saturn’s rings, she was so screwed. She needed to think, and being face down in the bed wasn’t helping. After much grunting and shoving, she got the man on his back. “Lights,” she called out. Nothing happened. She did a mental eye roll. Of course, the room would be programed to respond to his voice. Instead, she scrambled, with some difficulty, to the side of the bed where the manual controls were located. The room lightened gradually. She sat on the bed, suddenly exhausted. Mya looked down at the current-cuffs that attached them together. She didn't have a lot of experience with cuffs. Okay, none at all, really, but she did know that they required the owner’s thumb print in order to open them. Easy enough, him being unconscious and all. She searched for the thumb sensor and swore. The thumb print would've worked if, of course, they'd been remotely modern. Instead, these current-cuffs were archaic, needing a pin code to break the electrical charge that kept them together. Mya let her head fall into her hands and then glanced at the man passed out cold beside her. Curiosity and a pang of familiarity had her studying his features more closely. The shape of his lips had her remembering someone else’s face. Someone she’d known in a different place. In a place where fondness clouded her memories and a sense of happiness curled her lips. With a finger, she brushed his hair out of his eyes and gasped. She knew those eyes, that line of a jaw, the profile of a strong roman nose. He was a tad bit older and more than a tad bit rougher around the edges, but there was no mistake. It was him. The man she’d been in love with since she'd been eleven years old.

Switching Genres, a Guest Post by Lynn Burke

Switching Genres
I’ve always loved historical romance and fantasy. My read and to-read list is loaded with both. It’s all I’ve written. It’s what I know best.
So, when this 21stcentury Boston girl named Lia Risso started whispering in my brain, I went all googly-eyed. o_O Seriously? You want ME to tell your tale?
Italian and headstrong (like me), she insisted. I bowed down and obeyed. The story that emerged was so different from what I’d written before, so much…spicier…that I realized a pen name would be necessary.
Why? Hehehe The extended family would make more than a few googly-eyes themselves. Can’t be disappointing them now, can we? Besides, I personally have a hard time when a favorite author of mine crosses into an opposite genre. It just doesn’t seem…right.
Anyhoo.
Lynn Burke was born, and Evernight Publishing accepted the first of her, er…my, Risso Family novellas, Susceptible to Him. Have I enjoyed genre hopping? Hell yes. I am in LOVE with the Risso family. I think of the four siblings throughout the day, and even dream about them. You other authors will know exactly what I mean. *wink*
Do I love one writing one genre over the other? Nope, but my muse dictates what I’m able to focus on, and I go with it.
For now, that’s Lia brother, Cole. Hoping to submit his story within the next week or so.
How ‘bout you? Write more than one genre? Hate when your favorite author tries to switch?

Excerpt:
My nerve endings stirred as the subtle scent of sandalwood wafted across the table time and again. What man used sandalwood-scented soap anymore? By the cut of his suit and the Rolex on his wrist, Ryan Walsh had money. And plenty of it. Why no expensive cologne? The chick-lure nectar of the gods his type bathed in?
He grinned again, and heat filled the empty place only Mr. Pink had seen or stroked in two years. Ryan’s attention drifted to my lips and lingered as our waiter took his time pouring our wine.
I forced myself to breathe as my treasonous nipples pebbled, begging for attention.
Damnation. I do not want this.
He was too friggin’ sexy for his own good. And by his suggestive grin and the twinkle in his eyes, he knew it too.
“Are you ready to order, Lia?” Ryan asked, his focus staying on my face instead of dipping downward like most men’s did.
Praying my voice didn’t betray my arousal, I turned my attention the waiter. “I’ll have the shrimp Fra Diavlo.”
“And for you, sir?”
Ryan spouted off a few words in Italian, never once breaking eye contact with me.
My lips twitched. Papa would be impressed.
When the waiter ambled away, a smile—a real smile, not the cocky, you-know-you-want-me ones he had offered until then—revealed straight, white teeth.  “So.”
His low voice caressed my ears, and I pressed my thighs together. Thank God I hadn’t shaved. No doubt he had little trouble getting women into his bed. Or their bed. Or against a wall.
Holy shit.

Excerpt:If I was writing a film about us, my kitchen would be the central location. Good sex and good cooking are linked for me, inextricably together. They trigger the same areas of the brain-- taste and smell and texture and pleasure. I think of sex when I eat good food, and I want good food when I lie there spent after an orgasm, something full of life and flavor and color to recuperate and start again. We’ve always spent a lot of a time here. In varying states of undress.
She feels it too, I think. That’s why her breathing is a little shallow. That’s why she steals a slice of zucchini as I layer it piece by piece between the eggplant, the yellow squash and the bright tomatoes. She has that glint in her eyes, small and wicked, and even now, after all this time, she looks hesitant when she tries to push boundaries. She still stops short of actually pushing them.
Iris loves to be good, to be praised, to be my beautiful, precious girl. She hates displeasing me, even as a game. But neither can she come out and ask for it, tell me about the tingling between her legs, the longing, the ache that only the crack of my belt can mend. And so she steals bits of zucchini, or switches the radio away from my favorite station just as we drive into my street. She criticizes books she knows I love, or picks them up and leaves them on a different shelf-- like I had any order in mind to begin with. They are little things, so minor I would miss them all the time, if it wasn’t for that look in her eyes.
It’s the look of guilt and desire, of fighting against her nature and fearing the consequences she’s trying to induce. It’s a look that makes my cock hard, that squeezes my chest almost painfully.I listen to the zucchini crunch between her teeth. She eats it slowly, eyeing my profile as though wondering if I noticed anything at all. Sometimes I like to indulge her, I like to give her what she wants even though she can’t ask for it, even though she’s trying to manipulate the circumstances. It feels good sometimes, to let her out to play.
Today I don’t.
She picks the next slice out of the casserole, right out from between a slice of tomato and a slice of yellow squash, where they nestle in colorful stripes. She knows I can’t miss this one, and her hand hovers there a moment too long, just like she’s waiting for me to catch up and slap it away. But again, I don’t.
I watch her bring the slice to her mouth from the corner of my eyes. She places it on her tongue like a communion wafer, with intensity and slow purpose. She shudders; it’s a marvel to watch that change. A few seconds ago, she was my sweet girl, leaning next to me, relaxed and happy. Now, she’s strung tight, nervous and needy, like she exchanged her body for a different one.
“Are you bored?” I ask her. I look down at the pattern of vegetable slices, at the spot where she messed it up. When I drag my gaze up to her face, there are red spots on her neck, white teeth-marks on her lower lip.
She shakes her head.
“I think you are. You want attention, pet?”

Excerpt:
Following her nose through the front door, she was thrust into a honky-tonk time warp. Bars like this one didn’t exist in Los Angeles. The Den was cozy enough but appeared to have been decorated by a taxidermist in the late seventies and zealously preserved since. The shaggy heads of several unfortunate buffalo dominated the far wall. At the front door, two stuffed raccoons offered a mock greeting with outstretched paws. The chairs, booths, and even a few of the tables were covered in forest green vinyl. No doubt a sticky misery to come in contact with on a hot day.Movement caught her eye. A burly man with an inscrutable expression rose from behind a counter as if he was part of a magic act. He was tall with a barrel chest. A nappy brown sweater coupled with hunched posture lent him a distinctly bearlike appearance. The dour gentleman focused on Sela with a frown. “Where did you come from?”Steppenwolf’s “Born To Be Wild” was cranked to eleven. She had to shout to be heard, “Can I order some food to go?”The saggy-faced Papa bear behind the counter appeared perturbed. “Fair warning, miss. The kitchen’s closed. Pretty sure we don’t have what you want.”The explosive clack of a pool cue making hard contact with a ball nearly drowned her out. “Except for you, everything’s closed in this town!”A few customers cast her a brief glance then looked away. The lucky bastards sat in front of pitchers of cold beer, towering hamburgers, paired with heaps of french fries or onion rings. Her stomach growled embarrassingly loud, but she doubted anyone could hear above the blaring music. “Something smells heavenly. Could I at least order onion rings to go?”Bear man shook his head. “Sorry. No can do. Fryer’s turned off.”“Really?” Digging through her purse, she wondered if this place would accept a credit card. “I’m willing to pay a little extra for the trouble.”With a sullen pout, he rubbed a limp rag across the countertop. “After hours The Den ain’t open to the general public. Guess what? It’s after hours.”“Oh, come on!” She sounded desperate.A man in a red plaid shirt, who appeared to be in his mid-thirties, sat at the counter. He shot her a smoldering look filled with mixed emotions. Perhaps he was angry or lost in thought. She couldn’t tell. The flash of fire in his eyes beneath brooding black brows was impossible to decipher. When he opened his mouth, the tough gravel voice of a drill sergeant rumbled out. “Gee, don’t be a hard ass. Get the lady some onion rings.”The lumbering hairy thing behind the counter, presumably named Gee, thrust out his bottom lip and lifted his hands into the air in mock surrender. “Why not? It’s not like my house rules ever get any respect anyway.”From the corner of her eye, Sela glimpsed a huge silver-furred canine dart from under a table, push a swinging door open with its muzzle, and disappear.“Did I just see a wolf?” Sela gasped.
