by Victoria DanannGenre: Paranormal Romance

CRAP IN A CAULDRON
What if you woke up to find you're no longer human?
New York Times bestseller, Victoria Danann, author of Best Paranormal Romance Series the past four years in a row, continues the fast paced and breathlessly sexy adventures of D.I.T.
Rosie hired Irish elf twins, Sheridan and Shivaun O'Malley for the newly formed Department of Interdimensional Trespass. They were wild and nearly feral, raised in the New Forest Preserve with no contact with the modern world until Black Swan made them the only female hunters other than Lady Elora Laiken.
When Sher was assigned as Finngarick's partner, they were both stunned to find they weren't only partners, but fated mates. Blissful fated mates who enjoyed each other for the span of less than a month before Sher was abducted by one of the very demons they hunted.
Meanwhile, the "Wild Bunch", Black Swan's new nickname for Rosie's hunters, has its own problems.
Find out why readers are calling this series "addictive", "tantalizing", and "sooooo"elfing" good".
Sizzle with suspense, Victoria's signature humor, kick ass heroines and gorgeous sexy ex-vampire hunting elves. Grab your copy and an oxygen tank! 'Cause you're gonna be breathless. Get it TODAY!

“No’ hungry.”
“Of course you are. Elves must consume food for fuel. It’s part of the inferiority of your species.” She glared at him. “Oh, sorry. I keep forgetting that you’re sensitive about that.”
“I can no’ be sensitive about somethin’ that is no’ true. I simply think ‘tis rude for you to insist on repeatin’ the shite.”
He laughed. “You are inferior, but it’s so adorable when your color changes. Kind of chameleon-like.”
“There’s nothin’ chameleon-like about it. I have fair skin…”
“And you anger easily.”
She ignored that. “Chameleons change colors to match the environment.. Do you see anythin’ pink in here?”
He smiled. “Just you.”
“Exactly. So I ask you. Would a superior bein’ get somethin’ so simple so wrong?” He shrugged, smiling and completely undeterred. “Annnnnnd, I do no’ anger easily.”
“Seems so to me.”
“Well, it seems you’re wrong about that, too, then.”
He laughed. “I’ll bet your sister is not so much trouble.”
She barked out a laugh. “Oh, demon, you have no idea. I’m a clump of clotted cream compared to Shivaun.”
“Shivaun.” Lyric turned the name over in his mouth like he liked the taste of it. “It’s more musical than Sheridan.”
“So what?”
The question dripped with suspicion and suddenly she was eager to steer the conversation in another direction. It was killing her to be separated from Torn, little by little, every day. But that was preferable to having her sister fall into the hands of the demon. She could have slapped herself for saying Shivaun’s name out loud.
Even if he was astonishingly beautiful with the sexiest voice imaginable and also good at jigsaw puzzles, she was sure his windowless den was not the future Shivaun dreamed about. Although, since they’d promised each other to be celibate and unmated, they’d never allowed themselves to fantasize about lovers. Or, if they had, they’d never shared with each other. Even twins keep some secrets to themselves.
“Eat. I’m trying to take care of you.”
She glared. “I’m no’ a pet, demon.”
He chuckled. “Well, you kind of are, elfess.”
“Do no’ call me that.”
“What? Elfess?” He chuckled. “Why not? I rather like it. Makes me want to sing ‘Jailhouse rock’.”
“What?” It was clear that she didn’t follow the reference.
“Never mind. But let me just say that, if I did sing ‘Jailhouse Rock’, you’d like it. A lot.”
“Sure.” She flopped onto one of the long divans and drummed her fingers on her thigh.
He cocked his head and studied her in that I-can-see-through-you way of his. “Did you sleep while I was gone?”
“What’s it to you?”
That was ignored because he’d become distracted with a thought. He strode down the hallway that was defined by archways so smoothly curved they looked like beach art made from wet sand.
In a few seconds he was back. “You haven’t used the facilities either.”
“Now you’ve crossed a line. Bathroom usage is personal. Way personal.”
“Whatever. What was the point of having me add a bathroom if you weren’t going to use it?”
“Oh yeah! It was so much work. Was that your fourth finger that you crooked or your fifth?”
“Don’t hate me because I can make things happen at will and you’re a…”
She gave him a look that said, “If you finish that sentence, you’re going to wish you were someplace else.”
“Are you cold?” he asked.
With a flick of his wrist four arched fireplaces carved into smooth walls jumped to life. Even though there was no evidence of fuel, flames crackled and danced over glowing embers.
“Nice trick. No. I’m no’ cold. I’m from the New Forest. ‘Tis very far north which means we do no’ get cold easily.”
“No?”
“No.”
“Even without vodka?”
Faint lines formed between her brows. “By now you should be gettin’ the idea that I’m no’ amusin’ in any way. I’m plain and borin’ and excruciatingly unentertainin’. So let. Me. Go.”
He sat down on the divan across from where she sat. “You so underestimate yourself. I find you more fascinating than anything that’s happened to me… well, maybe ever.”
“’Tis ludicrous. Maybe I’ll call you Ludicrous.”
He shook his head. “My name is Lyric. And there’s already a musician named, well, he doesn’t know how to spell, but still, the idea is taken.” Sher slapped both palms to her face in exasperation. “What was that?”
“This?” She did it again.
“Yes. That.”
“It means I would run from the buildin’ screamin’ at this point if only I could run from the buildin’.”
“I can exchange you for Shi…”
“Do no’ say her name.”
“The interrupting is becoming tedious. Why not?”
“Because you get this funny look on your face like you’re thinkin’ about masturbatin’. And I just do no’ want to see that.”
He laughed out loud. “I can’t imagine why you think you’re not amusing.” His eyes drifted to the Chinese takeout cartons that sat on the large low table between them. “Is it that you don’t like Chinese?”
She looked down at the little white cartons with wire handles and red calligraphy symbols on the sides. Sheridan was a recent convert, since she’d never had Chinese until a few weeks before, but she liked it. Of course. Everybody likes some kind of Chinese and it looked like Lyric had brought a variety buffet.
She did like Chinese. And she hadn’t eaten for what was probably… “How long have I been here?”
“In Loti time? Two weeks.”
“I think that’s impossible,” she said, just realizing that she hadn’t been eating or sleeping or using the new bath facilities.
As if Lyric really could read her mind, he said, “I’m not an expert, but I believe it’s not possible for elves to go so long without food, drink, sleep, and…” He glanced toward the hall that led to the bath, but didn’t want to offend unnecessarily by bringing up such a sensitive subject. Again.

Simon Tvelgar wasn’t always the staid and steady director of the Order of the Black Swan headquarters in Edinburgh who manages the most unruly congregation of talented misfits ever assembled into one organization.
No. He was once a young, beautiful, athletically gifted knight, wild and lustful as any, until he fell in love with a Scottish fae girl who on bereavement leave. He lost her to the stones of the Orkneys as they picnicked there on Lammas twenty years before. She was swallowed up and faded from view, a look of panic on her face as she reached for him while her mouth silently formed his name. He lunged to grab her, but she was simply gone.
Year after year he traveled back to the Orkney Islands and talked to locals, but Shivaun was never seen again. Simon channeled his sorrow and loneliness into work until he eventually rose to the highest position open to an ex Black Swan knight.
Now, for the first time, he thinks there might be someone who could find Shivaun. Rosie Storm.

“When it came to my attention that D.I.T. was going to Dublin, I thought of Torn Finngarick. After all he knew the culture and could, perhaps, be useful. I confess to the ulterior motive of wanting to see all the floaters brought in from the cold. He was one of the remaining few. And everybody deserves another chance. Right?
As I mentioned earlier, my wife was working for Black Swan setting up a unit called Department of Interdimensional Trespass. It seemed that creatures coming and going at will were causing havoc that had, until recently, been unexplained, believed to be fiction of the myth or folklore variety, or dismissed as interplanetary visitations. Rosie was busy hiring and training people who were going to function as police.
Anyway, I had served with Sir Finngarick when I was first knighted as the fourth member of the infamous Z Team and came to know him quite well. Most believed he was irredeemable. I did not.”Glendennon Catch, Sovereign, Jefferson Unit

Spotlight: @LeaBronsen w/ Torn Avenger - A Dark Viking Romance and The Audition #newrelease
Hi, and thank you for hosting me on your blog!

As the second son of a Viking earl, Alv Gunnulfsen wasn't meant to inherit a throne or avenge a murder. But when his brother is slain during a raid and their father dies of grief, Alv is expected to take command and claim the killer's death. In a world of ruthless retaliation and strict social codes, he must also maneuver cleverly to protect a troublesome secret: his attraction for men. Roeland van Dijk, a wealthy Dutch merchant settled in Norway, has done the unthinkable to protect his family — hacked off the head of a Viking rapist. The wrath of the blond savages will cost him his freedom, and possibly his own head… Unless he's willing to accept the love of another man.

ExcerptAfter a moment, Alv looked up again and almost gasped from the erotic vision in front of him. While shaving Roeland, he’d only seen his wet, hairy chest and stomach, but the handsome man moved to a kneeling position in the basin and washed his lower body. His stunning maleness made Alv hot and bothered. They had discussed, argued, shared personal details, and apologized to each other, but now, the seriousness of their conversation faded. The sight of Roeland’s cock bathing in white foam between his legs had Alv’s own cock jolt and press painfully against his pants. Oh, Roeland attracted him on several levels—mental, emotional, and physical—and Alv longed to discover and develop more of everything with him. Hedin was an exciting lover, but nothing like what Roeland had the potential to be. Speaking of Hedin, it’d been a surprise to see him again this morning, right after Elke left. He’d arrived in a terrible mood and refused to excuse his disappearance act. It was outrageous of a slave to come and go like that, but Alv had too much on his mind to think of punishing him. For one, he worried about Roeland’s future. He’d inherited part of Father’s wealth, but not his title. After returning to Eðni, he’d claimed to be the only one who could decide of what to do with his brother’s murderer, but it wasn’t true. He had no standing, no support from his fellow citizens. They could choose to kill Roeland if they wanted to—all it took was a word from Mother. It made her idea to have Alv marry Elke and adopt the community’s natural heir that much more important to push through. “There’s something we need to talk about,” he said, hoping Roeland wouldn’t oppose to the plan. “What?” “Normally, I would ask you, but since you’re not in a position to make decisions, I’m just going to tell you.” “About what?” Roeland frowned. “I’m marrying your sister.” Roeland stood so fast in the basin, water splashed to all sides. He stepped out and leaned into Alv’s face. “Don’t you dare to touch her!” “But I’m not…” “Hasn’t she suffered enough?” Roeland bellowed, his dark eyes slit with anger. By Thor, he was insanely sexy, standing naked and wet, so near Alv could feel his damp bodily heat, water drippling from his hair and rolling alongside his tanned, chiseled cheeks. Alv couldn’t help hardening more, and needed to focus on the words that came out of Roeland’s luscious mouth to be able to answer. “She has already accepted.”

It's All About the Author #interview with @DarylDevore #romance #newrelease @eXtasybooks
It's All About the Author with Daryl Devoré…
So, let's get this party started, can you tell us 5 interesting facts about yourself that readers might not know about you …- I have a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do- I am a Raqs Sharki dancer (belly dancer)- I am an only child- I have a complete collection of Agatha Christie novels- I write under 2 pen names
Holy Buckets, some of that kind of explains what we want to know next lol but anyway, what do you like to do in your spare time?Spare time??? Hmmm – I work in my garden, and veggie garden, I read, I go to yoga, I belly dance and when I am totally worn out- I watch TV.
I would definitely be worn out too. The gardening is probably my speed :) Is there one book that you love to read over and over again? If so, what is it and what is it that keeps you coming back to it?No there isn't one book. I have the complete works of several authors and when I am tired of edits and critiques, I go read one of those books. I love getting lost in the stories. It depends on my mood whether I get an Ellis Peters and go back to the 1100s or an Agatha Christie and settle into a late 19th century manor house or a Rex Stout and pop over to NY in the 40s.
I like the way you don't have just one. Keeps the mind alive ! So tell us, how did you get started writing and have you always wanted to be an author?I started writing in gr. 10. In creative writing class, we were supposed to write a first chapter. Well chapter 1 turned into chapter 2 and along came chapter 3 and pretty soon I had a book.
That's great, i wish more kids were that determined in high school. If you for some reason couldn’t be an author, what would your other choice be?I'd love to be a baker. Create those fabulous cakes and desserts.
Baking would be a blast ! Were you one of those kids that liked school? Were you a good student?
Loved school. And yes, I was a good student because once I had my work done, I picked up a book and started to read. Although I did get in trouble for reading Hamlet in gr 7. Was told it was inappropriate. My mother told the teacher off – it was great.
Yeah, seems like that would be a parent decision, not a teacher one. When you write, is there a specific way you have to write, ie: certain room, noise or quiet, computer or paper etc…I write mostly on my laptop as I am too lazy to write by hand and then retype it. Usually I have to have quiet with no one around. If someone is nearby, I am always on alert to see if they are going to suddenly start talking to me.Although, I wrote a couple of chapters at a gate in an airport as we were called to seating. I kept writing even after the plane took off. I just got on a roll and went with it.
Sometimes you just need to write when the story is talking to you. If you could write a collaboration with another author, do you have one in mind and what would you write?Oh jeez, no idea. But I guess I could narrow it down, I'd love to write a murder mystery, so I'll go for Agatha Christie.
Kudos for being able to get through a murder mystery, i'm not sure i could lol. How do you come up with your story ideas? No idea. A song triggered What Happens in Bangkok which turned into a trilogy.I once came up with the idea of a fabulous last line in a book – so I had to write the whole story to get to that point.
That's as good a way as any. Do the titles stump you or do they come easy? When do you pick a title, before the story is written or when it’s done?I am the definition of stumped when it comes to titles. I came up with a cute one for an earlier book and no one seems to get the pun. For What Happens in Bangkok, it was called the book with no name for over a year. For my latest, I actually came up with 4 titles and a friend emailed me and suggested something else and my 4 titles went flying out the window and Between Despair and Ecstasy was named. And weirdly enough enough – I currently have a title for a book that I haven't even started yet.So I'd say I am pretty much all over the place.
All over the place isn't a bad thing, that just means your imagination is keeping you busy :) Do you keep a notebook near you for when new ideas pop into your head?I have a journal that goes pretty much everywhere with me. I belong to a local writers group and was at a meeting and scribbling away like crazy because something triggered an idea for a scene and they weren't the slightest bit insulted that I was ignoring them.
I think that's proof that they are a good writers group! If you write a series, do you re-read your previous books before you begin the new one?
I don't see how you couldn't. You have to keep all the little details straight. If your hero has green eyes, they suddenly can’t change to blue without a really good explanation.
Very true, the extent of the details would confuse anyone I suppose. How does your family feel about your writing?
Meh. They are proud, but it's not something we talk about. An older aunt scolded me because of the language that one of my characters used. He was a gang member – gosh darnwasn't in his vocabulary.
Thanks for sharing “you as an author” with us ! We hope you’ll come back and visit again soon!
Would love to come back. It was fabulous being here.

Excerpt
Set – up- Darien and Erika have gone on a date to BBKs – Bo's Bitchin' Kitchen. They've met up with some friends and Sherise and Bo the owners.
Sherise grinned. “Your momma’s just the sweetest. You say hey back and tell her ‘n’ Patrick to get in here. It’s been longer than forever since we laid eyes on them two.” Darien pointed to a door. “Bo in the back?” “Yeah, g’won. He been smokin’ all day. I’ll set you up a table.” Darien turned to Orion. “How many?” Orion counted. “Me. Tami. Nathan. Elijah and the other singer, Randi. Five.” Sherise grabbed some paper place mats. “I’ll put you in the big booth in the corner. Keep pryin’ eyes off ya, too. I’m guessin’ y’all want the monster platter?” “Hell yes. No one comes to BBKs to eat bunny food.” Darien tapped Erika’s back. “Come meet Bo. I’d hire this guy in a sec to be my personal chef.” He led Erika through a back hallway, past the busy kitchen and outside. Six large smokers filled the air with delicious fragrances. He closed his eyes and inhaled. If anything smelled like home, this was it. “Darien, ya son of a bitch. What y’all doin’ here?” A former professional linebacker stood before him, with a grin from ear to ear. “I needed me some BBKs.” Darien half turned and edged Erika closer. “Bo, this is Erika. My fiancée.” She smiled and inhaled. “I’ve been in flower shops that don’t smell as fantastic as it does right here. My stomach’s just rumbling.” Bo flashed a big grin, lifted the lid and pulled a strip off a roasting piece of meat. He handed it to her. “Oh. Hot.” She blew on it then popped it into her mouth. Her eyes closed as she chewed. “Oh. My. God. That is one of the most incredible things I have ever eaten. Are we going to have some of that for dinner?” Darien nodded. “I ordered a monster platter. Everything you smell will be on it, plus the North Carolina state vegetable.” A momentary pang of jealousy shot through Darien as she licked her lips. He wanted to lick the barbecue sauce off her lips. Could dribble some down her belly. A little up her thigh. “Okra?” He hunched his shoulders. “What okra?” “State veggie?” Darien and Bo tossed back their heads and laughed. “Northerner?” Bo asked. “West Coast,” Darien smirked.

Shipwrecked! When Royce Hastings is found washed up on the shore of a verdant tropical island, he tells the natives he is a merchant headed for Mozambique. The truth, however, is far more mercenary. Noble by birth, the once favored Royce has lost his fortune and family; now he is a hired henchman on the trail of an elusive pirate. His “shipwreck” was a fake. He’ll stop at nothing to infiltrate the island and capture his prey. His mother and sisters’ lives depend on it.
The last thing Royce expects is to be captured himself. But the lovely young woman who tends to his wounds in the tropics quickly takes hold of his heart. Simone is the island’s healer, and her skilled ministrations not only awaken his soul but disturb his conscience. His path has been predetermined; his identity must remain concealed at all costs. Yet the passion he feels in Simone’s sultry, loving arms cannot be denied. With his loyalties torn, Royce must make an agonizing, unthinkable choice. . . .
“The story is brimming with risqué retorts and searing sex scenes.” —Publishers Weekly on Passionate Pursuit
Excerpt:
Of all the people to discover him, Royce hadn’t expected such a beautiful young woman. Simone the other native had said. She couldn’t have been older than twenty. Her light brown skin complemented her dark hair. The ends grazed her waist. He detected a bit of European in her exotic features, and island custom in what little she wore. Simply a red silk cloth tied about her hips. Her breasts were full and lush, begging for a man’s touch.Wary that she might scream, he’d released her quickly and had expected her to run.She checked his arms, hands, and head. He supposed for injuries. At last, she finished and peeked at him.Cautiously, he pushed up, hoping she wouldn’t bolt. She sat back on her heels.Needing an ally here, he tried a smile.Hers was wondrous, broad and carefree, no deception or caution in her soft brown eyes. His arrival would eventually change that. No better way to destroy a woman’s trust and happiness than wresting her from an island Eden to imprisonment, lifelong slavery, repeated rape, and birthing children only to have them torn away.Guilt and shame churned in his gut. Fear for his family competed with the other emotions. “Are you the only one here?” Besides, Tristan, his crew, and the other island woman. Their conversation had mentioned Tristan, but not Diana or Peter.Simone tilted her head. A tress fell across her breast. Confusion swept her lovely face.Royce had deliberately spoken English so she wouldn’t know he’d heard her speak French earlier when he’d feigned unconsciousness. He next tried Portuguese and received her same bewildered reaction. At last, he used her language. Her eyes lit up. “My people live here. Once we have you in the stone house, I can see to your injury.” She touched his thigh. “Does it hurt?”Not as much as when he’d arrived on this shore. “My head is worse.”She brushed back his hair, her touch as light as an angel’s. Despite his callous intent here, and what prudence demanded, his lids slid down, his heart pounding as hard as it had when she’d stroked his ribs. She explored his wound carefully. “I can make a potion to take your pain away. As soon as the men arrive I—”Voices and footfalls interrupted.Tristan led the way, his manner and appearance precisely as rumor had described: tall, golden skin, blond hair, and light eyes that offered naught except challenge and possibly death if anyone dared threatened him or those he loved. Following him was an equally tall man with long red hair, his face and chest freckled. Had to be James Sullivan, Tristan’s friend and former quartermaster during their piracy. An adolescent boy, fifteen or so, brought up the rear. Gangly, as youth were prone to be, he had long dark hair streaked with blond, his skin brown from days outdoors. Diana’s brother, Peter. His features matched Bishop’s depiction. Tristan, James, Peter, and island men trained their pistols on Royce. The land to their side jutted out, rocky and reddish as those found in Madagascar. A white woman stood there, wind whipping her dark hair and simple sheath-like gown in violet silk. Her slightly rounded belly didn’t prove pregnancy, though Royce would have staked his life on it. She wore a choker about her throat, the diamonds glittering in the light.Royce’s pulse pounded. Diana was here, as Bishop had predicted. Along with too many armed men, as Royce had feared, though all islanders, not pirates.

***My story in this set is called...An Unexpected Twist

Boone Michaels was exactly where he wanted to be in his life. Fighting forest fires was a full-time job as of late and his construction business was booming as well. Adding in the complete renovation of his 100-year-old farm house too with what little spare time he had left. Complications from the female persuasion just aren't an option at this point.
Kelsey Watson hated her fast-paced New York life and needed a change. She yearned to go where no one would recognize her as the daughter of the governor of the state. Heading West was something she'd always wanted to do. However, driving into a Colorado tornado wasn't her idea of starting fresh.
Can Boone save Kelsey and give them both a new lease on life or will an unexpected twist tear them apart?

FIERY 10-16 ~ Happy #NewRelease to @LeaBronsen
Fiery 10-16A Smokey Glen Novel Lea Bronsen
Runo Wiggins is a scarred man, the wounds etched into his psyche deeper than those on his skin. But he loves his job: fighting fires helps reenact his survival of a house fire as a teen, one that killed his mother and brutal stepfather.
Dawn Caravello is married to a psychotic drunk. She can take his beatings as long as he doesn't touch their children, and she'll do anything to put food on the table, even if it means stealing from the town hero.
When Runo meets the fiery Dawn, sparks fly. But he suspects she is victim of the same abuse as his mother was.
As day turns to night, the past and the present blend in an exhausting, nerve-wrecking chase to prevent another death.
Excerpt:Dawn's eyes shimmered with a mix of stubborn pride and extreme sadness. They seemed to be made of molten brown stone. Runo had never seen eyes like these. So vibrant, saying so many things. They revealed her life, her endurance, her dreams, her combats, her despair. And she was still so young. While he stared, she leaned forward and kissed him, an act a whole lot more intimate than he was comfortable with. A short, hard peck, a statement. Not the tender gesture a kiss was supposed to be, but one telling him her gratitude as well as her dignity. She thanked him, but was going to go back to her life and continue fighting. He stood shocked, his entire body rigid, didn’t know what to do. She, such a small woman thing a whole head shorter, shook him, a giant of muscle and stupid testosterones inside a hard shell. He would definitely take care of Dawn and her kids. Any way possible. Alert the authorities and make sure they got the protection they desperately needed. She stepped backward, her features softening, and turned on her heel. Not so fast. He cleared his throat and called, lifting a weak hand. “Hey, wait!” His heart hammered in his chest, blood pulsed in his ears. She turned. “What?” “Promise to be good. Promise it’s the last time you do it.” “Do what?” Her eyes gleamed with humor. “Kiss you?” In the midst of this emotional turmoil, she found the strength to tease. “Steal.” And lie. She pursed her lips, looking like a disappointed little girl. Maybe she still was a child inside. A child taking care of children. A child beaten savagely. He swallowed. “Promise.” After several long seconds, she nodded. But her gaze told a different truth. Liar.
