STAR WARS LEGO Special’s Trailer Introduces Darth Jar Jar
LEGO and Star Wars frequently team up on the screen, but a new LEGO special is really mixing things up. LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy shows a galaxy where space and time have fallen apart. The pieces crumble and put unlikely characters in equally unlikely situations. That means, among other things, we finally get to see Darth Jar Jar.
Hearing “Mesa going to hurts yousa” in Ahmed Best’s familiar Jar Jar voice was not on our Bingo card.
The synopsis for the special says:
In “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy,” the entire Star Wars Galaxy gets completely mixed up when an ordinary nerf-herder, Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo), unearths a powerful artifact from a hidden Jedi temple. He finds himself thrust into adventure in a new, wondrously wild and twisted version of the galaxy where good guys are bad, bad guys are good, and the fate of all depends on Sig becoming the hero who can put all the pieces back together.
The special has one heck of a voice cast. Gaten Matarazzo (Sig Greebling), Tony Revolori (Dev Greebling), Bobby Moynihan (Jedi Bob), Marsai Martin (Yesi Scala), Michael Cusack (Servo), Ahmed Best (Darth Jar Jar), and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) all appear.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy has four parts. All of them debut on Disney+ on September 13.

THE BOYS Season 4 Trailer Shows Direct Ties to GEN V
The Boys ended their third season with a game-changing moment for the series. Homelander discovered he could do the unthinkable in public—and many in the public would love him for it. This left us all foaming at the mouth for season four. And now, it’s almost here. Fans attending the first-ever CCXP México were the first to see the official trailer for the fourth season of The Boys, coming to Prime Video on June 13. Cast members Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Chace Crawford, Karen Fukuhara, and Claudia Doumit were on hand to debut the trailer to a crowded room of fans. You can watch the latest trailer in full right here:
Here’s the official description for The Boys season four, as well as key art:
In Season Four of The Boys, the world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.

Judging from this trailer, certain major plot elements from the spinoff series Gen V will factor heavily into season four of The Boys. Namely, the virus that kills super-powered individuals. Homelander himself appeared in the Gen V finale. However, it’s unclear how many characters from that series filmed anything for the parent show. And clearly, the sociopolitical allegories are stronger than ever this season. The Boys will premiere its fourth season on June 13, 2024, with three episodes. These are followed by a new episode each week, ending with the epic season finale on Thursday, July 18.

The Disney Store’s STAR WARS Day Offerings Celebrate Darth Maul, Padmé, and More
It’s that time of year again. May the Fourth, a.k.a. Star Wars Day, has arrived. And after that, you’ve got “Revenge of the Fifth,” for those that wish to continue their Star Wars celebrations. As always, the best way to celebrate Star Wars since 1977 has been with all the cool merch. And this year is no different. What is different this year is that 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Menace, so there’s even more cool stuff emphasizing characters from that film, like Darth Maul and Queen Amidala. Here are some of the highlights from this year’s amazing Disney Store offerings:
The Sith Apprentice: Darth Maul Legacy Lightsaber
He only made one full appearance in a Star Wars film (and a cameo in Solo), but Darth Maul left a big impression. After all, he had the coolest lightsaber we’d ever seen. Now, you can actually own one. This Darth Maul Legacy Lightsaber reproduction features a double hilt with sound effects. It glows red when you attach two of your lightsaber blades to it (sold separately). The lightsaber comes in a gorgeous wooden box featuring images of Lord Maul, and the interior lights up red and plays John Williams’ “Duel of the Fates” when opened. This is a limited edition of 7,000. This bad boy costs $400.00.
Darth Maul Phantom Menace 25th Anniversary Adult Zip Hoodie

If you want to celebrate your love of Darth Maul in a more affordable (and wearable) way, these new Darth Maul-themed Phantom Menace 25th-anniversary zip hoodies are just the thing. This sweat jacket features the horn-headed Sith Lord’s face on the front, with his iconic duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi on the back, and the Phantom Menace 25th anniversary logo. The price for this impressive hoodie is $69.99.
Queen Amidala Limited Edition Doll
Natalie Portman’s Queen Amidala of the Naboo had many fierce costumes in The Phantom Menace. If you ask us, however, nothing beats her entrance look, dripping in reds and golds. This 11″ iconic throne room doll features embroidered detailing, faux fur trim, satin lining, and rooted hair. The Queen Amidala doll is a limited edition of 3,100, and is presented in window display packaging. She’s priced at $129.00.
Padmé Amidala Ear Headpiece
Speaking of the Naboo Royal, this Padmé Amidala Ear Headband is perfect for your next trip to a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Inspired by Her Majesty’s throne room ensemble from The Phantom Menace, this simulated golden leather headpiece has beautiful red sequins, topped with a faceted gem. The red velour ears feature embroidered golden filigree patterns. These can be yours for $49.99.
Darth Vader Pyre Helmet
Not all the Star Wars Day products are Phantom Menace-themed. This is a life-size replica of Darth Vader’s melted helmet, identical to the one in Kylo Ren’s quarters in The Force Awakens. This is the same helmet that Luke Skywalker burned on Endor in Return of the Jedi. This detailed replica includes a display base. It’ll set you back $250.00.

Each of these drops on May 4, at 8 AM PT. And this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of this year’s Star Wars Day products. Head over to the official Disney Store to check them all out.

Motion-activated? We’re obsessed. But if that wasn’t enough, good ole Darth comes with “a Death Star pumpkin for Halloween and a candy cane light saber and Death Star tree ornament, you can keep this 7-foot-tall Sith up throughout fall and winter.
We also still recommend the flower crown thing.

Kevin Feige Passed on 18 DEADPOOL 3 Treatments From Ryan Reynolds
Fitting Deadpool in the MCU seems like an obvious choice now, but it turns out, it was a bit of a difficult journey. And Kevin Feige actually turned down 18 treatments and 25 different ideas from Ryan Reynolds before the pair settled on the best way to get Deadpool into the fray. Feige shared with Empire, “The truth is, I wasn’t even sure how to incorporate Deadpool yet… I was very much thinking about how to bring mutants and the X-Men into [the MCU], and I thought it needed to be more than just playing the hits. But the truth is, Ryan is an idea machine. So he may have pitched that to me, but he also pitched 25 other thoughts and ideas.”

And Reynolds meanwhile noted, “I went back to the drawing board, and I wrote up about 18 different treatments… Some of them almost like a Sundance film, a budget of under $10 million, sort of using the IP in a way that they previously hadn’t used, and I pitched bigger movies, and I pitched things in-between.” So many Deadpool movies that could have been. But that makes us even more excited for Deadpool & Wolverine—we guess it must be just right.
And if nothing else, this teaches us to always try, try again. We can’t imagine being turned down by Kevin Feige 18-25 different times, but Ryan Reynolds shows us persistence pays.
