Always Room for Cupcakes by Bethany Lopez Excerpt & Giveaway
Below you'll find an excerpt from ALWAYS ROOM FOR CUPCAKES by Bethany Lopez. This book is a romantic comedy/suspense title. Be sure to grab your copy today, and check out the giveaway below.
Synopsis:
One day I was be-bopping along jamming to the music in my head while wondering if my thighs could handle grabbing a cupcake on the way home. The next thing I knew, my entire world crashed and burned. I used to wake up at night in a sweat, crying because I’d dreamt that my husband was cheating on me, or that he hated me, and resented my kids. He’d always hold me close and tell me it was all just a dream, that he loved me and our family and that he’d never let me go. He was a f*cking liar. Now I spend my days taking photos of scum just like him, trying to be a champion for other's being taken advantage of by the losers in our town, and my nights being a single mom to my beautiful twins. I've got great friends who have my back, and a sexy, mysterious motorcycle man who keeps showing up when I need him. Maybe things are starting to look up, and one thing's for sure... There's always room for cupcakes.
Excerpt
“Oh, yeah,” I said, looking down to where my hand was clutching my stomach. “Just cramps.”
I found that if you talked about cramping or periods in any given situation, that almost always caused the other person to redirect and change the subject, or sometimes even walk away.
I was hoping for the latter in this case, instead he rolled his eyes and said, “I’m so tired of you women using that shit as an excuse. Any time you don’t want to do anything you blame it on cramps and periods. Well, I call bullshit.”
After what I’d just witnessed back in that room, the last thing I wanted was this man judging me, or any women for that matter, so what he said really pissed me off.
With my hands on my hips I yelled, “Oh, really? Bullshit? I’d like to see you bleed out of your dick for one week every month and see how you fucking deal!”
I didn’t wait for him to reply, I just stomped off to my car, got in, and drove off, leaving him staring after me with a scowl.

Beat the Winter Blues Sale
Happy Monday.
I get the winter blues about this time of year (yes, even in California... it's our rainy season, and I miss the sunshine).
So, I thought it was a good time for a sale.
Plus, Chasing Eternity is slated to publish 5/25/16. It's the last in the series. For anyone who hasn't caught up (or hasn't started), this would be a good time.
Buy Links Chasing Memories (#1) Chasing Shadows (#2) Chasing Forgiveness (companion novella) Chasing Destiny (#3)
To sum up the series... it's about accepting your destiny and fighting with faith. Sure there are shapeshifters, witches, vampires, and angels, but it's also about taking what life gives you and making the most of it. With Faith, We Fight.
Reagan's fate was determined long before her birth, and she must study and harness her powers in order to face what has been foretold. Although she comes to accept her destiny, she refuses to let it define her path. To save the world, she must:
Gather powerful allies.
Call forth a team of angels.
Form an unholy alliance.
Discover an angel sword.
Survive devastating losses.
Along the way, Reagan will discover that strength comes from faith, from believing in the unbelievable, and a new battle cry emerges… With Faith, We Fight.
*****
If you've already read and enjoyed the series, please spread the word. Happy reading!

In This Moment : Inspiration and Reflection
Happy Friday.
Welcome to my Friday inspiration board post. I'll be taking a quote from my inspiration board and sharing it with all of you. I hope it inspires you to make 2016 an awesome year.
My goal for 2016 is to be in the moment. I struggle with this. I tend to be a planner and worker. In both capacities, I'm usually thinking about what needs to get done. But so much of life is about the moments.
I used to pride myself on multi-tasking and my ability to run around and get things done. But I've found that I don't do things well when I'm that scattered. Sometimes I need to breathe and be in the moment.
To do this, I often have to go somewhere outside of my home (where I am mom, wife, and do all my work). How do you stay in the moment?

EXCERPT (Brady)Victoria narrowed her eyes and asked, “Are you keeping something from us?” “No,” I practically shouted, then decided to get her to back off by giving her what she wanted. “You know what, go ahead… the living room is all yours. Decorate away. Just let me know what the damage is when you’re done. “Yay!” she replied, her face brightening with excitement. “Now, me and the little man are going to watch some football in the other room. Don’t go too crazy.” “I won’t,” she said, moving to set the chandelier back down. Before we could disappear into the sanctuary of my room, Victoria stopped me in my tracks when she called after me in a singsong voice, “Don’t think I’m distracted by you giving me what I want, Brady. I’m going to find out what secret you’re keeping.” Rather than give myself away by responding, I shook my head in response and kept on my path to safety. “Your mom scares me a little,” I told Dec as I shut my bedroom door behind us.

Ta-Da, You are Beautiful
Happy Monday morning.
A lovely friend on Facebook inspired me today (thanks, Nadege). She posted that when she's feeling down she'll give herself a pep talk, tell herself she's amazing and beautiful. It's something we should all do more often.
Years ago, my mom gave me a sticker to put on my mirror. It says... Ta-da! It came with this sheet...
Take a few seconds today for Ta-da! Start the last week of January off right!
