And, before you criticize me for the punctuation at the end of that last sentence {?”.}, I feel it’s perfectly rational—I’m writing a sentence which demands a period at its end and it has a quoted question tucked inside it

Vow of silence: how much do you talk about your novel in progress?

Today’s re-blog, by Roz Morris, gives some excellent reasons (which you may or may not agree with…) for not discussing a book in progress, until ………

Nail Your Novel

Nail Your Novel vow of silenceIf you’ve hung around here for a while, you might have spotted that I’m writing my third novel and it’s called Ever Rest. Assuming you give two hoots about it, or even just one, you’ll have noticed that’s about all I give away.

I’ve mentioned Ever Rest in posts where I talk about a writing challenge that taught me a new trick. I’v...

The Violet Hour

“Violet hour is the time when the sun is setting and the sky turns purple. The sunset scene and the violet color is usually representative of sadness and something fading away…”

That statement is followed by a link to a Wiki about a poem T. S. Eliot wrote—The Waste Land—which contains“the violet hour” twice; plus, “the viole...

MY STORYBOOK LIFE by Kathy Anne Cowie

Today’s re-blog is a family-reading-memoir

Nerdy Book Club

I was born into a reading family. I did not know until I was older what a gift this was, or how rare. A Tribute to Paper – Cool Stuff

Today’s re-blog reminds us of what some books are made of; and what else can be made with it :-)

Tribalmystic stories

Artist and industrial designer Lilian van Daal makes exquisite things from various materials. Her collection made cool stuff this time. Here, she pays tribute to paper by showing it in ‘delicate textures’ to remind us of how we give little value to paper when we use it, perhaps sometimes irrationally in our every day lives.
