Blog Conversation about The “Rules of Writing” . . .
[image error] Our last Conversation here—about Reading Print books or Ebooks—ended on October 12th, due to no reader comment; but, it had a decent run of six posts…
So…
Here I go, launching another conversation; this time about what You think about the “Rules of Writing”…
I’ve seen, basically, five different groups of folks…
Those who believe:
There are no rules. There’s this one particular book that has the rules. There are these X number of books that contain all the rules. The rules are always changin...October 13, 2018

It Comes Down To Reading
From today’s re-blog:
“We must take care that the children’s early encounters with reading are painless enough so they will cheerfully return to the experience now and forever. But if it’s repeatedly painful, we will end up creating a school-time reader instead of a lifetime reader.”

The first reader comment on the last post let me continue this discussion; and, it comes from an author and publisher in Germany:

Uncanny Expressions: The Importance of Creative Journaling by Kara LaReau
Very interesting re-blog that presents a unique approach to its subject…
Last week marked the publication of The Uncanny Express, the second in my middle grade series, The Unintentional Adventures of the Bland Sisters. I’ve done a bit (okay, more than a bit!) of promotion since then, and I’ve talked a lot about the story — today, I’d like to talk about my writing process, and in particular, how journaling continues to be a critical tool for me.
I’ve kept a personal journal...

On Not Being a Reader by Kevin Crossley-Holland
Today’s re-blog is a totally fascinating story :-)
Long ago and not so long, I drove over to have a look at the little village of Whiteleaf in the Chiltern Hills where I was born and lived until I was sixteen. A huddle of cottages crouching under a majestic hill, surrounded by beechwoods, magical as all childhood places (or at least our memories of them) are. My climbing tree with my initials cut into it. . . the mysterious trenches deep in the woods, dug by soldiers during...
