Most blogs have a built-in search engine (look up and to the right…)

Writer's Knowledge Base

Many blogs also have a Top Tags feature—selecting groups of posts by keywords (scroll down in the left side-bar…)

So, writers can go to other writers’ sites and find information about writing, right?

Of course, there is the work of finding the other writers that you want to read

And, speaking of reading, I simply have to direct you to...

Become a clued-up author: How to approach the self-publishing of your book

Alexander M Zoltai:

Thinking of self-publishing?

Have a friend who is?

While I may not agree with a few things in today’s Re-Blog, there is still much of worth and much to ponder…

With so much conflicting, confusing and overwhelming information on the web, it can be d...

What Are Humanity’s Most Popular Books?

I’m always happy when I can write a blog post that deals with all three of the major topics I cover—Reading, Writing, and Publishing.

Most Popular Books

I’m sure readers want to know about popular books, even if they often love books that aren’t popular.

I’m sure writers need to know about popular books, even if they have no intention of writing a bestseller.

I’m sure publishers are ravenously interested in what makes a book popular...

A Wonderful Idea from the Nerdy Book Club :-)

Alexander M Zoltai:

O.K., so you may be a reader, writer, or publisher…

But, are you a Book Pusher??

Originally posted on Nerdy Book Club:

They say confession is good for the soul so I am here to confess to all of you that I am, “gulp”, a book pusher. And I have no shame – I push to adults and children and not just in book venues either, as you will soon see. I do not discriminate. I take every opportunity to push books and even create situations when I can. I know I am incorrigible and I kno...

The Reader’s Dilemma: To Read or Reread?

Alexander M Zoltai:

Have you faced this challenge in your reading life?

Originally posted on Creative Writing with the Crimson League:

1170824_archivum__old_library_I find myself facing a dilemma that I think all prolific readers and anyone who appreciates the inner/philosophical life finds himself facing. Lately, now that I FINALLY have a job I can leave at work, giving me more free time, the reader’s dilemma is hitting me hard.

We all have limited time to devote to reading. So when we can read, WHAT should we read? The c...

What’s To Be Done About Banned Books?

There’s a certain 15-year-old,Amaranthia Sepia Gittens-Jones, who “…attended Pal and Nischimachi International Schools, Tokyo, Japan…”. “By age eight Amaranthia declared her purpose to become an artist. By age 12 she was awarded a full scholarship at Kimball Jenkins Art School, Concord, New Hampshire, USA.”

End This Destructive Habit: Editing While You Write

Alexander M Zoltai:

Yesterday we looked at the need to edit.

Today I’m sharing a re-blog from one of my favorite publishers about when Not to edit…

Originally posted on FastPencil.com Self-Publishing Blog:

Has this ever happened to you? You sit down to write but first you decide to take a peek at what you wrote during your last session…and see something so glaring you decide to make an edit. Then two. Then a few more. Before you know it you’ve scrapped everything you’d previously written and y...

“But, Do I Really Need An Editor?”

I’ve heard of writers who are able to fully edit their own work—never met one yet

Editing

Of course, all serious writers move words around and take some out and put some in and notice typos—all forms of editing; but, there’s more to a full editing job than what most writers can handle.

First comes the need for Other Eyes on the manuscript.

Some of this objective perception might come from beta-readers; but, a writer...

“I feel it in my fingers…”: Linguistic repetition really is all around

Alexander M Zoltai:

Some beginning writers seem to have received a“rule” that bans word repetition—they end up over-using a thesaurus…

The following re-blogged article explores repetition, first in poetry, then in prose and other forms of speech and writing…

Enjoy :-)

Author Interview ~ Kenneth Edward Hart

It’s been awhile since I’ve actually talked to another author here; though, we do have over 50 author interviews on the blog.

So, let’s get a new one going :-)

Edward, tell us a bit about yourself and the Ron Tuck Series.Kenneth Edward Hart Books

I’m a retired educator who has been writing most of my adult life. I’ve had a few pieces published over the years, and I have given some readings, but the demands of my former career kept that activity to a minimum. I live a quiet life in Sussex County, New Jersey...
