How about a little fun this morning…

Happy Birthday to Delia Latham, author of Kylie's Kiss and Destiny's Dream. In celebration of this special day, I would like to introduce you to her latest release, Kylie's Kiss:

On a dare, Kylie Matthews lands smack in the middle of Solomon's Gate—Castle Creek's new Christian dating agency—and she finds herself revealing exactly what she's waiting for in a relationship: "The kiss that steals my breath away."

What she doesn't reveal is her lack of self-esteem or her irrational reaction to facial disfigurement. Neither is applicable to her quest to find the perfect match. But that seemingly superficial malady becomes all-important when her first agency-arranged date is Rick Dale—a man who is everything Kylie is searching for. He's handsome, smart, fun. Rick has it all…including an angelic six-year-old daughter with severe scarring on one side of her face.

Hard at work founding a therapy camp for young female victims of deformity or disfigurement, Rick wants Kylie to be a part of those plans. She'd love to say yes…but how can she, when every contact with the facility's guests—and Rick's own daughter—will make her violently ill?

Kylie is ready to admit their relationship doesn't stand a chance, but she's forgotten that God makes a way where there seems no way.

***

Born and raised in a place called Weedpatch, Delia Latham moved from California to Oklahoma in 2008, making her a self-proclaimed California Okie. She loves to read and write in her simple country home, and gets a kick out of watching her husband play Farmer John. The author enjoys multiple roles as Christian wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, but especially loves being a princess daughter to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. She loves to hear from her readers. You may contact her through her website or send an e-mail to delia AT delialatham DOT net.

Happy Birthday, Delia!

Graduation has Come and Gone!

Here they are my friends…fresh from the reason I've been AWOL, graduation photos from the class of 2011! Congratulations to all the graduates.

Oh, yeah! She did it!

Love the mortar toss. All those head germs!

Somewhere in that sea of maroon is my graduate. Can you find her?

YUM!! I was on a diet, so I only ate the frosting that fell off the spatula after serving each piece:D.

A little tug of war with the honors cords. She thinks she won…I think we tied (get it? Sorry, I know that was really bad).

So that's what we did this weekend. How about you??

Diggin' the Dirt

My munchkins...a long time ago:D

Yup, first day of summer break is here and in true Wisconsin fashion, its fifty degrees and rainy. So while the kids are basking in the boredom that ensues, I'm catching up on a little writing and blogging. Tomorrow is my oldest's graduation day (I'll post pics Monday…okay maybe Tuesday:D). So this week the blogosphere has heard little from my tired fingers. However (isn't there always one of those:D), an article posted earlier this week and it highlighted our eclectic family. Wanna learn more about the mayhem that inspires my writing? You do? Really? You must be bored too:D. Check it out: Sharing Adoption Stories.

I'd love to learn more about your family. Got a quirky family memory you'd like to share? Please tell us:D.

And don't forget…registration for this summer's awesome FREE conference for writer's under twenty opens next week. June 15th to be exact. I'll post links and more information soon. Hope to see you there. We've got a great lineup! Check it out: Next Gen Writers

Operation Encourage an Author

In a culture that thrives off the 'me first' mentality, I've bumped into someone who epitomizes the sweet traits of the other mindset. Casey Herringshaw created a website designed to encourage authors. Not to self-promote, not to vent, not to tell folks how to do something; she simply encourages others who fight to survive in a difficult career. Each week she interviews a new author and urges sweet comments from her reader. How precious! I only wish God called folks like this for every line of business, surely there are others who in need of such a boost.

This week I am more than blessed to be her recipient (and oh-so grateful). Writing can be tough, lonely job filled with guesstimates and vocal critics. On the otherhand it is filled with fans, thrills, and sweet people like Casey. If you write, click through and read some of her previous notes of encouragment. I pray it seeps through to your rough spots. If you don't write, but you like to read, please consider clicking through and bookmarking the site so you can encourage not just me, but all the authors she highlights. If you're neither a reader nor a writer, click through anyway…what else do you have to do on a Monday?:D

Operation Encourage an Author

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. This week is Graduation week for our household. Let the craziness begin! What are you up to?
