Review--

First I want to thank FMB Blog Tours for allowing me to be a part of
this tour. I was excited to see this book posted for a tour because I
had been wanting to read it but i wasn't to sure about it. See I love
history books mixed with a little something but I tend to get bored
easily while reading them because the history takes over the plot but
T.C. Archer has done a great job of never losing the plot but only
adding to it. At points I went and googled some of the stuff because I
was not sure it was real but low and behold it was!

Jordan Pierce
is a Chicago Police Detective who was attacked one day while on the
job. When he wakes up the next day he feels different. He is no longer
hungry and no longer needs a lot of rest but in the middle of the day he
needs sleep which is bizarre for him. So he decides to leave his job
and take a job at the local university of Chicago as a security officer.
One day he comes to work and finds that a scientist has been murdered
and another scientist is the prime suspect in his murder.

Jordan
finds himself in a little bit of a dilemma because the scientist that
is accused of killing the other scientist is Jordan's secret crush. What
is Jordan to do? Will he follow his heart or will he follow his logic?
Will he ever find out what happened to him in that dark alley when he
was attacked? Come along for the greatest history paranormal ride of a
lifetime! I promise you will not be disappointed!

A novel most readers won’t forget any time soon: Chain Reaction

Former Chicago Detective Jordan Pierce put his life on hold in order to
protect America's secret weapon against the Nazis; The Manhattan
Project. But he can't protect himself from the disease eating away at
his humanity. Jordan discovers how much of his soul this infection has
devoured when he falls in love with the woman who could destroy America.
Choosing her means choosing the monster he's becoming, making him the
most powerful man he's ever known.

Chain Reaction is a novel most readers won’t forget any time soon after they have finished reading it. The premise had me intrigued from the start as I am a huge World War II buff and I like to read about this turbulent era in world history.
The novel focuses primarily  Jordan Pierce, a former police officer, and Gladys Nichols, a scientist who is extremely sexually attracted to but he has no way of knowing her true motives and thus, it makes it hard for him to trust her.
The paranormal aspect of the novel comes in almost immediately as Jordan was attacked while still a police officer in Chicago and an infection has taken hold of his body but he has no idea what it is and why his cravings for food, beverages and nicotine are no longer an issue for him.
This novel is filled with intrigue and the writers do a very good job weaving real life history with a classic paranormal story that will have you reading all the way until the end. This is not breezy summertime reading but if you are looking for something more substantial this fall or winter to sink your teeth into, I highly suggest this novel.

History and Paranormal Elements Day 4 Chain Reaction Giveaway

Our stop at Heart of a Wolf Series

This story was a nice surprise for me. I don’t normally read suspenseful who done it and generally shy away from war time spy stories. I went out of my comfort zone on reading Chain Reaction and am so glad I did and give this story 5 stars!
The author immersed me into Jordan Pierce’s world of intrigue and espionage while mixing in lots of twists and turns into the history during the WWII time period. I loved the paranormal aspect of the story. Jordan is on a mission of revenge after he is attacked in an alleyway and infected with a disease which gives him strange abilities.
Based in Chicago, Pierces is head of the night security for the Manhattan Project. While investigating murders of the scientist, he meets Dr. Gladys Nichols who he is instantly attracted to. He doesn’t know if he can trust her, evidence leads to her being part of the spy network when he discovers her brother is being held hostage.
Jordan finds that he is not the only one with special abilities when he is introduced to the Phenom League. With supernatural abilities and extraordinary powers, the group of people have banned together to right the wrongs in the world.
Chain Reaction was a great start to the series and I am excited to learn more about this Phenom League and see what happens with Dr. Nichols brother.

Full Throttle engages the emotions Night Owl Reviews

Fast cars and a smokin' hot passion...

Rex intends to own and
drive his own car, but that will cost him millions up front. Last season
was a disaster, thanks to a nasty break up, but it taught him a lesson
and helped sharpen his focus on what he needed to do: Win every race.
And stay away from pretty girls. The last thing he needed was to learn
that his new head mechanic, Jimmy James, was the gorgeous redhead pin-up
walking around his pit like it was some kind of dance floor.

Gail
"Jimmy" James is the first female NASCAR mechanic. As if competing in a
man's world isn't tough enough, her bombshell figure bellies her genius
IQ, and the pit is no place for either. Nothing Jimmy knew about Rex
Henderson the driver prepared her for Rex Henderson the man. But Jimmy
has no time to dwell on her feelings as strange mechanical problems
curse Rex's car. Whether sabotage or her own mistakes, Jimmy must stay
one step ahead of trouble if she's going to keep her job, and keep her
driver alive...

With plenty of action this story will keep the reader guessing about
what is going to happen next and what is going on. Once I started
reading the book I was totally engaged. I will definitely be watching
this author.

Full Throttle engages the emotions as it pulls on
your heart strings and makes you laugh. There is an instant chemistry
between the characters of Rex and Jimmy. They both try to deny this for
reasons of their own. Jimmy and Rex are great for each other, but
circumstances make them deny what they have at first. I loved their
personalities, especially Jimmy's. She was great.

The sex is
explicit, but not overly frequent. Emotions are definitely engaged by
the time anything happens and it just added to the story for me. I
really enjoyed the storyline and what was going on.

This is set
in the NASCAR racing world, but you do not need to be a fan to enjoy
this book. The author explained what needed to be explained.

Rex
is ready for a new season and wants to be the all-time champ. He wants
to open his own racing team at some point, but he has to get the money
for it first. Last season he bombed at the end because of a break up.

Jimmy
is a mechanic and has worked on cars for other races. This is her first
NASCAR opportunity and is the big times for her. She is head mechanic.
She knows that she has to do good because she is the first female and
she knows that she will be blamed if things don't go right with the car.
Almost right away the other mechanics have a problem with her and the
car starts to have problems.
